Re: [discuss] OpenOffice.org 2.0 - How to install multiple UI-Languages?
I have a similar problem. I'd like to be able to switch between Swedish and English GUI on an XP Home Edition. Is this possible? Do I need two complete installations of OOo? I assume file extensions will be associated with just one of the language versions in this case. Or is there a way to switch between Swedish and English GUI on the fly? /Henrik 2005/10/22, Stephan Gromer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Dear all, > > I am managing the PCs in a small university laboratory and I would > like to convert our M$-Office installations into OOo 2.0s during my > efforts to prepare the switch from WinXP to Linux. What are your questions, Stephan, regarding OOo2 on WinXP? [Transitions are easier than generally anticipated, if enough respect is paid to the small, well-defined areas where difficulties can occur. Particularly respect for "human factors" is necessary: such as individual expectations, perceptions and the short period (approximately 1-2 days) necessary for acclimatizing to a new application.] -Sam > > Thank you! > Stephan > > > -- www.PlexNex.com - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I need to do this transition smoothly - so OOo first and Linux somewhat later. There should not be any problem under Linux - multi-langage is the norm there and has been for a long time. Language market segmentation is mostly a closed software thing. His problem is with windows, since no one bothered to release a multi-language build for this platform yet. -- Nicolas Mailhot

So do you want to know how this is done on WinXP or on Linux - not clear whether you want to make the move to OO.org first and later to Linux. [discuss] OpenOffice.org 2.0 - How to install multiple UI-Languages?
Dear all, I am managing the PCs in a small university laboratory and I would like to convert our M$-Office installations into OOo 2.0s during my efforts to prepare the switch from WinXP to Linux. However, we are an international crowd and (of course) everybody wants to use OOo in its native language (Not only the dictionary which is simple. I need the GUI adjusted for each user). We are using roaming profiles and with M$-Office I had only to install the language files on each PC to get this achieved. I know that StarOffice does provide this multilanguage feature in its standard installation, but for a couple of reasons I would like to stay with OOo 2.0. Can anybody give me a hint on how to achieve this? Thanks for listening! Regards Stephan -- Stephan Gromer, MD. PhD.
