Re: [ACFUG Discuss] CF8 cfgrid
shouldn't it just be a css attribute? I haven't looked but, you should be able to view source and see what style is being set to the highlighted row and then override the css property. On Dec 28, 2007 9:03 AM, Jeff Howard [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Is there an attribute to cfgrid that I can't find any documentation on to change the color of the highlighted row from the default blue when format is 'html'? Just to confirm. Can a CF server run on XP home? And what are IIS limitations on XP home. When you say you can't test out IIS settings? I recently figured out a clever way to set up multiple sites in IIS on the XP Pro version I have (which is on a leased PC that is about to to end). Re: [ACFUG Discuss] CF and Vista
SQL Server won't run native in OS X but you can run it in VMware or Parallels (or boot the machine into XP/Vista). Oracle is supported natively. I've tried NeoOffice but as you can get Microsoft Office for OS X I'm not sure why you would go that route. On 12/28/07, Dan Kaufman [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: That's a good question—of course. But never-the-less, minor delay or not, I do absolutely intend to move to MAC. I will keep my Windows equipment so I can cross-check, browser-check, etc. The big dilemma that I don't have a clear answer on though is similar to your question of SQL, is all the other software I'm going to have to re-purchase. I did get a great recommendation for NeoOffice ( http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/features.php). This will at least cover the Microsoft Office Suite stuff. Re: [ACFUG Discuss] Negative plus positive equals less than zero?
I may try that. My hackish solution was that if the resulting number was less than 0 but greater than -0.01 to just return zero. I'm dealing with money amounts here with no partial cents so I'm not really losing any significant data. Decimalformat takes care of this but I need to have the negative sign to the right of the number (client request) so I have to use numberFormat instead, Thanks. For example 62355.57 would be stored as 6235557 or even as 623555700 in financial systems that use 4 decimal points. You'd conduct all math on these whole numbers and avoid floating point problems and then just x/100 or x/1 to get it back to a decimal format (maybe in a UDF) for display. RE: [ACFUG Discuss] CF and Vista
VMware is great specially for development and I've been using Linux on servers for years just not on a workstation. So it shouldn't be too bad. I'll just convert my current laptop to a vm instance for legacy. I haven't run into a licensing issue with converting to vmware yet. Sometimes you have to re-register but it goes through just fine from my experience. Bare in mind, when your convert an existing machine to vmware. The MAC addresses will change. This will trip the Windows licensing to re-register since it looks for hardware changes. Just re-register and you're good to go. And in the interest of full disclosure.I have decided to Go MAC but have not as of yet consummated the marriage. A stronger desire to upgrade my photography equipment to Canon EOS (pro digital) prevailed so I'll be putting off the iMAC purchase off until late January. I did get a great recommendation for NeoOffice (http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/features.php). This will at least cover the Microsoft Office Suite stuff. And CF Eclipse is also available for MAC. Re: [ACFUG Discuss] CF and Vista
If you have peripherals you should check to see if there are drivers out there for them before changing to Vista. My graphics tablet that I bought about a month before I moved to Vista no longer works and the vendor has stated they will not create drivers for them. My laserjet printer, which is old, worked with XP but not with Vista at all. You can used CF with Vista, I haven't had any problems, but I prefer XP Pro. Get a lot of memory (2 or more gigs RAM) and a huge harddrive. I am using Vista Business Edition. I have read that Vista Ultimate is not worth the money and that some promised features are not available because the team that was supposed to provide the added features was dismantled. Personally, if I had not needed a PC as soon as I did, I would have never chosen Vista at all. XP Pro is much better. Vista, to me, is a step down. It still has loads of trouble. If you do get Vista, you can't change your XML files to open with another application because if you do, the Vista help files will no longer work (found this out after I set Dreamweaver as my default XML editor). I wouldn't use Vista Home is you are planning on using the CF Local Server. I can't remember all the details - maybe someone else can clarify reasons not to use Home of any version to use if you will be running CF's local web server. Basically, XP Pro is what I would stick with. On Dec 28, 2007 9:46 AM, Dusty Hale [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hope everyone had a very merry xmas and wishes for a happy new year. I was debating with myself as to what OS to get (XP or Vista). I currently use XP Pro. These are my questions if anyone has any feedback or wants to discuss: 1. Should I stay with XP Pro instead of moving to Vista? 2. Are there issues with using Adobe products like CF, DW, or other tools with Vista. 3. If I move to Vista is there a particular version I need to do CF work (home, pro, etc.) 4. If I stay with XP, do I really need the Pro version to do CF work? Any thoughts are appreciated. If your lease with Dell is anything like my lease with CDW, they don't really care what you lease; they just see a purchase amount and calculate your payment, that's it.
