Re: [Drakelist] VFO for 2NT
If anyone is interested I have a nicely built DDS VFO for the Drake C line. I have only programmed the 80M offset but it can do all the bands. I used it for a couple of years until I bought my TR-7. Output level was raised to provide the correct levels for the RX and TX. The enclosure is ‘Drake Like’ and also has a switch to allow for a RX Only antenna. All teflon cables provided. It plugs in the R-4C accessory socket with a minor mod to the socket. Pix available. It is really slick. I am also using a Micro Bitx to drive my Heath DX60B. This provides a receiver as well and not expensive. Wondering if there were a modern VFO for crystal transmitters. I currently have a TR-7 and TR-4. Just bought a 2C/2NT and have a Heathkit HW-16 with VFO. [Drakelist] Drake R-4C Problem
I have a nice R-4C that has an issue I have never seen before. The AGC only functions in Slow mode. The AGC switch checks out as does the Function switch. A previous owner had jumbled the wires to the AGC switch (probably trying to fix the problem)- I am close to 100% sure they are now correct- but the problem persists. In all positions except Slow, the AGC voltage is high, around -75VDC from memory and thus cuts off the stages controlled by AGC. In Slow, the RX appears to function normally and S meter readings are OK. Anyone have a suggestion? [Drakelist] UV-3 Schematic
I have found a nice UV-3 whose 2M P.A. is bad. While I have an original owner's manual, and have found the service manual- neither has schematics or voltage charts. Does anyone on the list have the above in electronic format? Tnx, Dale W4OP ___ Drakelist mailing list Drakelist@zerobeat.net http://mailman.zerobeat.net/mailman/listinfo/drakelist
