If anyone is interested, I have a Kensington Masterpiece power control center for sale for $40. It's too big for my new desk shelf. It has multi-stage surge suppression, EMI/RFI noise filtering and anti-static protection, 5 switches, 6 outlets, and modem/fax/DSL protection. It was originally designed for computer systems but it works well for any use. I purchased an 8 individual outlet rack mount strip, lighted switch's on the front, outlets on the back, 6 ft built in power cord and a 15 Amp breaker. Brand is a Gemsound model SP8500 L. 19.25, W (depth) 6.5, H 2.5 inchs. fit under a shelf beautifully with a couple of brackets. MCM's # 555-2930 ship wt. 4 lbs. With MCM's website when you get to the shopping cart/check out page there is a Source/Catalog code (which was referenced in the original email.. Read the archives etc. Purchased some items from Don Garrett WA9TGT when he was still making his Drake replacement pieces and he gave me a piece of advise which I did remember and act upon, about a year ago. Of course the following would apply regardless of what brand of old equipment you use, and many of you have several in your shacks. His advise; Get a power strip that will allow you to individually turn on and off the equipment NOT using their on off switchs ...they wear out, and as most are also variable pots. they do too. He was right; Many are ganged and impossible to find.check out the archives.
