Re: [Dspace-tech] submit_archive message?

2014-01-07 Thread helix84
Hi Bill,

I don't use this feature myself, so I can't tell you for sure. But I
don't think the email is sent after just submitting a simple
submission, it's submitted only after the item successfully gets
trough all workflow steps (and workflow is disabled by default). For
more details, see:
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/Configurable+Workflow

So we're clear - the email is sent to the item submitter (not the
administrator) when the item enters the archive.

Maybe not the best way with error checking, but as a start it's all good :D

issues to do with authorisation as we want anyone to be able to rate
the item) so we basically use an SQL against the metadata value table
to update it through the DatabaseManager. Now, we also want to be able
to sort the browse items by this rating value, which I have got
working except for one problem - When the metadata is updated in this
way the bi_item table does not get updated to reflect the new value.
Is there some command that I am missing to tell the system to update this?

Hi Adam,

bi_ stands for browse index. Browse indices in DSpace up to and including 3.x
are updated using the index-update command. In DSpace 4.0, these indices are
stored in Solr by default and are updated by update-discovery-index. There are
two things you'll be interested to hear - 1) these are just launchers for Java
classes, so you may want to execute the methods directly instead of going via
shell (see the mapping in launcher.xml). 2) Check out the -i parameter to
update the index for only a single handle.

[Dspace-tech] OAI Harvesting Cannot Choose Metadata Format

2014-01-07 Thread Joachim Bingel
Dear community,

on our 3.1 DSpace implementation (using Manakin), I fail to select a
metadata format when setting up OAI harvesting for a collection. The
corresponding dropdown menu is empty, and clicking on Test Settings
does not return any info (i.e. the page does not change). Upon clicking
Save, the input fields are set to empty and the harvested_collection
table in the DB receives an entry where only collection_id,
harvest_type (set to 0) and id are set.

Running bin/dspace harvest -r -e ... -c N where N is the corresponding
collection_id throws an exception (Provided collection is not set up
for harvesting). I did not find any interesting info in the log files.

Any ideas where to start?

Thanks very much,
Joachim

Re: [Dspace-tech] OAI Harvesting Cannot Choose Metadata Format

2014-01-07 Thread Bram Luyten
Dear Joachim,

I think this is a configuration problem.
Can you send the contents of your config/modules/oai.cfg file?

More in specific, check if following keys are present uncommented:

harvester.oai.metadataformats.dc =
http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/oai_dc/, Simple Dublin Core
harvester.oai.metadataformats.qdc = http://purl.org/dc/terms/, Qualified
Dublin Core
harvester.oai.metadataformats.dim = http://www.dspace.org/xmlns/dspace/dim,
DSpace Intermediate Metadata
harvester.autoStart=false
harvester.unknownField = add
harvester.unknownSchema = fail

There are a number of other issues with the OAI Harvesting client that have
been logged in JIRA. Some of them already have pull requests. It would be
great if you could test out the provided solutions or join in solving these.

[Dspace-tech] browse by date off by one?

2014-01-07 Thread Bill Tantzen
I'm trying to get my head around whether or not this is a configuration
issue or something else. In dspace 3.2 (using solr), when I browse a
collection by date, it is in descending order by default (by client
request).

If the user chooses to jump to a particular start date, say 2004, a solr
query is issued that looks something like this:

response
responseHeader
status0/status
QTime1/QTime
lst name=params
str name=qbi_sort_1_sort: [2004 TO *]/str
arr name=fq
strNOT(withdrawn:true)/str
strlocation.comm:12/str
strNOT(withdrawn:true)/str
strsearch.resourcetype:2/str
strread:(g0)/str
/arr
str name=start0/str
str name=rows0/str
str name=wtjavabin/str
str name=version2/str
/lst
/responseHeader
result name=response numFound=271 start=0/
/response

Which tells me that there are 271 records with bi_sort_1_sort = 2004

So far, so good. The second step issues the following query, using the
numFound attribute of the 1st query:

responseHeader
status0/status
QTime2/QTime
lst name=params
str name=flbi_sort_1_sort/str
str name=q*:*/str
arr name=fq
strNOT(withdrawn:true)/str
strlocation.comm:12/str
strNOT(withdrawn:true)/str
strsearch.resourcetype:2/str
strread:(g0)/str
/arr
str name=start271/str
str name=rows20/str
str name=sortbi_sort_1_sort desc/str
str name=wtjavabin/str
str name=version2/str
/lst
/responseHeader

which says about the same thing, except to start at the 272nd record which
effectively eats up those items with a
bi_sort_1_sort of 2004 and up and starts displaying records beginning with
2003-12-31 and lower; clearly not what the user expects.

When the sort order is reversed, everything works fine.

Is this a bug, or am I misunderstanding or mis-configuring something?

Thanks for any pointers!
Bill

[Dspace-tech] Recent Submissions on Homepage @ XMLUI not reflected

2014-01-07 Thread Bhavesh Patel

Into Homepage it's not display Recent Submissions(that is added recently

Community Page it's showing the latest one.

What may be the issue for home page ?

We are using DSpace 3.2
We have enable Discovery Search I have follow the steps
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/Discovery

But into that
#recent.submissions.count = 0
recent.submissions.count = 5
We have not change that count into DSpace.cfg because if we set 0 then on
the collection page on right side it's showing me all recent submissions
instead of last 5 submission.

Please help me on this.
