[Dspace-tech] survey on the management of large numbers of digital repositories.

2011-11-23 Thread Mushashu Mwansa Lumpa
Dear Colleagues,

I kindly request your assistance with a survey on the remote/automated
management of large numbers of digital repositories.

I am a member of the Digital Libraries Laboratory at the University of Cape
Town, South Africa, and I am currently working on a research project that
includes development of tools to install, manage and monitor many digital
repositories (running on different server machines).

I request your input on a short survey to determine the functionality
necessary for such tools. Please complete this survey at:
http://banzai.cs.uct.ac.za/survey/index.php?sid=68473&lang=en

Your participation will be highly appreciated.

[Dspace-tech] create-administrator automation

2012-08-21 Thread Mushashu Mwansa Lumpa
Hi,

I am trying fully automate the installation of dspace (using python +
fabric). now, on the create-administrator step, I have not seen any
documentation on whether it is possible to run it in in single step like
below:

create-administrator param1 param2 param3.

i know i can achieve this population of the fields by using something like
pexpect, only the one line option would be very convenient for me.

thanks,

mushashu

[Dspace-tech] Mirage: customising the summary item view

2012-08-29 Thread Mushashu Mwansa Lumpa
Hi,

On the summary item view (actually even the detailed item view), I would
like to modify the section that lists the collection(s) to which a given
item belongs to. Among other things, I would like to also add the owning
community information. which .xsl file should i look at that handles that?
I have already looked at the item-view.xsl but it looks to me, it is not
the place that holds that information.

regards,

mushashu

[Dspace-tech] dspace 3.0 missing related items feature (xmlui)

2012-12-06 Thread Mushashu Mwansa Lumpa
I have read all, maybe almost all, the content regarding related items
(morelikethis) feature, but it does not display at all in my pages. I
looked at the item-view.xml (expected to find something related to it in
there) but there was nothing.
anything i might be missing?

thanks

[Dspace-tech] missing coverage field aborts harvest

2013-08-15 Thread Mushashu Mwansa Lumpa
Hi everyone,

I ran into an issue while harvesting content from a non-dspace repository
into a dspace instance. Basically, the harvest was aborting midway through
the harvest. A little investigation revealed that the site I was harvesting
from was exposing an unqualified coverage (dublin core) field.
DSpace's metadatafieldregistry
database table does not have an entry for an unqualified coverage field,
thus the reason why my harvest was breaking.

anyone experienced this issue?

One other thing, though it did not seem to affect my harvests, there is a
typo in all the crosswalk xlts files (etdms.xsl, didl.xsl, rdf.xsl,
qdc.xsl, and oai_dc.xsl), coverage is spelt as covarage.
