But, dspace 1.4.2 has been completely removed from my server. Now, it`s
running dspace 1.5.1. :)

Ok. I got one file there in backup dvd. Though, i didn`t do this  
backup stuff at that time, so it took me some time to get that file.
Anyway, i got the file named "dspace.sql". I think, this is file we  
are looking for. What do you say?


Good, if that truly is the database backup and it is in sync with your  
assetstore contents, then you should be able to restore your  
communities, items and users.

I would say:

1.) restore the database
2.) focus on getting the original applications war (1.4.2) running in  
the original installation location.

3.) Once you know its running, then work on upgrading to 1.5.1

One last thing you need to look for would be the dspace.war or your  
servlet engines "webapp" root directory which had the webapplication  
deployed in it. You can use this to test out your original  
installation is restored correctly.

What was the version of your previous dspace again, was it originally  
1.5.1 as well? I'm also not seeing reference to a backing up a  
postgres database in your last emails, did you do a postgres database  
backup as well? If you have not, this will be the difficult hurdle to  
get over.

just one confusion. They didn`t talk about my archived files, that  
means, those assetstore.tar.gz , config.tar.gz. Where will i put

[Dspace-tech] Restore data in dspace 1.5.1

My new server dspace 1.5.1 is running. Now, i want to restore my previous
data into new server. I backed up assetstore, config & jsp as tar.gz. Now, i
extracted those three files & pasted those into my  */dspace *directory.
But, nothing happens. That means, i cannot see my datas there in my new
server. How can i get my datas running?
