Re: [DSTAR_DIGITAL] Re: ICOM announced new hand-held and mobile D-STAR transceivers, ID-80 and ID-880
Still no three-band mobile or handheld. Have to go with Kenwood TM-741 and Satoshi's DV Adapter then to be able to talk D-STAR on all three bands. Erik

Hi Gordon and GM from Texas, I took a look at the English translation of the JARL site: http://www.jarl.or.jp/English/0-2.htm and downloaded the JA Band Plan. It looks to me like there are no 144 Mhz. repeater allocations - many simplex, but no repeaters. This certainly does not rule out 2M simplex, but I would think a domestic only dstar radio would be have 23cm and 70cm, first, and 2M as an afterthought. Anyone have a Satoshi board with AMBE chip they want to sell? Larry, It is 2m, 70cm, 1.2ghz A full D-STAR Stack will operate on the 144MHz, 440MHz, and 1.2GHz bands. Note below that if you have 1.2 GHz you actually have a DV Repeater and a DD Repeater in addition to the VHF and UHF repeater. Yeah 1.2GHZ is actually UHF but we don't refer to it as such in Amateur Radio since UHF goes to 3GHz. So if you own a D-STAR radio and have a repeater controller you should be able to route to any module in the stack, thus go in on any frequency and come out on any other frequency (e.g. access the VHF repeater and come out on any one or all repeaters VHFVHF, VHFUHF, VHF1.2 or VHFVHF,UHF, 1.2) ID-RP2C Repeater Controller ID-RP2D 1.2GHz DD Mode RF Module ID-RP2V 1.2GHz DV Mode RF Module ID-RP2000V 144MHz DV Mode RF Module ID-RP4000V 430(440)MHz DV Mode RF Module Barry KA0BBQ From: dstar_digital@yahoogroups.com [mailto:dstar_digi...@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of larry allen Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 9:36 AM To: dstar_digital@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [DSTAR_DIGITAL] Re: ICOM announced new hand-held and mobile D-STAR transceivers, ID-80 and ID-880 Greetings... I assume the first two bands are 2 meters and 450.. but which is the other band?.. Just asking... [DSTAR_DIGITAL] Update 01/29 : CML/DVSI Bulk Order
Hi all ! Today I got a confirmation from CML that the first batch of CMX589AP4 chips have been sent to me, and should be here on Monday or so. Hurray! It seems that I took their entire stock of PDIP-packaged chips, haha, and now they have to make new ones for the rest of the order... As soon as they arrive, I'll start sending out orders, oldest ones first, and first the CMX589-only ones, as the AMBE's have not arrived yet. Meanwhile... people are still ordering (if you recognize the reply Yes, you're a lil late, indeed, then you're one of them ;-) so I managed to convince CML to increase my order again, at the same price. That was the last 'change' they'd let me do, though. So... the first chips should land safely about this time next week, get the irons hot'n'ready! Oh... if anyone knows Peter AI4UE or Andy MM0FMF, please contact me off-list; these OM's are not responding and will soon be removed from my list.. thanks ! Cheers, Fred PA4YBR
Re: [DSTAR_DIGITAL] Re: I'm on the air
Hi Nick, Sorry I have not updated you before now. Our gateway is currently down due to an ISP problem that requires my presence to fix. I have been working with the ISP's NOC to resolve the problem. We had planned to resolve the problem this past Wednesday but work got in the way of my free day off. The bad news is that we are still down until at least next Wednesday. The good news is that is that we will register you in another system so you can use your new toy. I have ask one of the other Florida admins to enter your call into their system. You will be able to use any of the local systems once you are registered. Once again I apologize for the delay, but Super Bowl has us all scrambling and working very long hours. 73 George W4AQR Trustee/Sysop KJ4ARB w4...@tampabay.rr.com
