The entities are identified by their ADIF country code, for which each entity has a unique code. I.e. PJ2/Neth. Antilles has a different code from PJ2/Curacao. The ARRL just wants to start with a clean slate, and I don't blame them. I don't understand what all the impatience is about, the deadline for NEXT year's annual listing isn't until 12/31/2011! 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us --- To unsubscribe or subscribe to this list. I deal with databases every day, so this seems like a no brainer. You have an old entity that goes away on 12-31-2010. People want to get credit for it. The new entities by chance have the same prefix. If they begin to enter the new ones before finishing the old ones, the system will go south. They might be able to sort out the new from the old based on the qso date, but that requires more time on the part of someone, and after all, what's the rush if everyone is in the same boat? Re: Re: [DX-CHAT] QSL's
That's my understanding. They can't close out 2010 until everthing is caught up, and then there's some processing to do for end-of-the-year. This is nothing new. The same thing happens at the end of every year, especially when there's a new entity that will first become recognized, for submission purposes, in the system at the start of the new year (even when it's retroactive to the actual activation date). 73Jan 24, 2011 10:52:13 AM, k...@nc.rr.com wrote: Ron, Just curious as to exactly what this means. I know the League at one point was hoping to have caught up by now, but at the moment, I wouldn’t expect it until the end of February or the beginning of March. Don’t blame the League. Blame the number of DXCC applications submitted. I see some in “the queue” online (http://www.arrl.org/dxcc-applications-received) that date to the beginning of October. My own 40 meter app was submitted (officially) on November 11th (just after the WACOM hamfest, where they were field checked) and at that time, the “wait” was approximately 8 weeks. Obviously that has changed. It can’t hurt to ask for some of the direct cards, most of those are out by now or will be out soon. LotW will come. I've gotten all my paper cards for which I've sent except PJ7E. Call me old fashioned, but I still like paper cards for new countries. The "hold-up" is that Logbook of the World hasn't been updated for the new PJ entities yet. Which won't happen until the 2010 backlog on DXCC applications is taken care of. Re: [DX-CHAT] QSL's to UA4WHX?
Title: Message Good evening! Vlad has been on an Africa trip for a couple of years, been home during this time only a few days for a Christmas celebration. He will QSL when he gets back to Russia, but he says he will visit some more African countries before. Right now he is active as D20VB from Angola. The cards for his 2002 and 2003 trips to Central America and Pacific have been received here long ago. We have to be patient for 2005 and 2006 QSO's, but I don't know if someone is opening the envelopes now - I hope he knows about the expire date of the IRC's... Vlad visited us here in Sweden in 2004, it's a very nice and kind young man! 73/DX de Osten SM5DQC [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: Joe Subich, W4TV To: 'Tim Heger' ; dx-chat@njdxa.org Sent: Sunday, October 08, 2006 9:10 PM Subject: RE: [DX-CHAT] QSL's to UA4WHX? I've had many QSLs replied to by Vlad via direct (with IRC) and by the bureau. Sometimes takes a while but they come back.
