Supposed to work. Maybe it's something about the demo program. Or
go into Preferences and change the user mode to Expert.

You can do an F8 search in "Notes for this QSO field" for the word "Error".

The DX4WIN call/prefix/country database is fairly high-quality. I've
been working on improving it for almost 3 years now. The most recent
file is at:

 http://dx4win.ad1c.us/

-- just follow the links. You could be encountering errors during
import that may not be related to the country file, i.e. serial
numbers in the RST fields.

Use F8 as described to give yourself a "flavor" of the kinds of
problems you're hitting. I can work with you one-on-one to help
resolve most if not all of these import problems.

No, commands can only be entered into the Packet Window.

F8 search and specify the band and mode. Then Window -> Logbook will
bring up those QSOs selected. You can right-click on the Logbook
window and invoke the Report Editor to arrange the data any way you like.

Just log the QSO with the correct date/time/prefix and it will be
added to the country file automatically. I'll make a note to fix
this call in the next release of the country files.

No charge when staying within a minor version (7.01 to 7.02) but
nominal charge for a major version upgrade.

Hi John,

In the QSL manager database, managers have start dates but not end
dates. Thus, it's not possible to delete a manager.

You can go into the QSL manager database (File -> Databases -> QSL
Managers) and delete the entry. But that deletes the manager for ALL QSOs.

The QSL manager database I include in the country file does NOT have
any self-managers (one way to correct the problem).

Let me know what the issue is and I can try to fix it in the next
release of the country files.

Too complicated to correct/change a manager during real time logging. I
may be mistaken but I guess it was possible to edit qsl manger in the qso

Apparently I have solved the problem I originally posted.
I stepped back through every change made. One step was to remove a
non-functioning network card, and produce the packet spots through a shared
COM port, instead of via the network.
I re-installed the network card (though still not hooked up to anything),
and now everything seems happy.

Hi Guys,

I have version 7.02.15 on an up to date XP processor.
The problem I experience is when I try to edit a existing QSO QSL MGR call
sign. I can not erase using F10 or Enter. When I go back to the QSO, the
origional QSL MGR call sign is still there??

Can you duplicate the problem?

I think i can do this. I can't understand why it's not working for you.
Try press f10 to update after the change.

you can search with f8 for error in "notes for this qso" . you will have all
these qsos
If you have opened the logbook window try right click on this and write to a
file.
In general the biggest avantage of dx4win this moment is the right database.
This is happened because of ad1c tries.
It is strongly possible that the most of your "wrong" qsos is wrong and the
right infos
is what dx4win has. But follow Jim's instructions and help all of us to find
the differences.
See http://www.ad1c.us/dx4win/index.htm for dx4win infos first and
especially
http://www.country-files.com/dx4win/index.htm where you can find the latest
country
file.

No

You can include the name in Notes for this call. This field is the same for
all the
qsos with the same station while the notes for this qso window has separate
contents
for every qso. You can print the name if you wish and to include this in
your macros
for rtty, psk and cw. Unfortunately not a separate field.

Another strong point of dx4win. You can make any combined search.
Press f8 in qso window, write the fields you like and you will have the
results under logbook window where you can save or print them.
Ofcourse you can multiple operations on these. See qso>multiple qso
operations

You must close the log, make your level to expert (file>preferences)
and you can change whatever you want. I suggest that it is better to note
the mistakes and let one man (let's say Jim ad1c) to do this task. So these
are
double checked and you help the others while you help yourself from what
the others found

I am sure that it could be done because you can edit the rig files,
but i don't know more

Usually you must pay for the major updates (for 6.x to 7.x , etc) abt 20$
while no pay for the small ones (from 7.01 to 7.02). Unfortunately the last
years we have just one update every year

I have downloaded the MMTTY program v1.65D. Can I start it from DX4WIN..?
Or, are they separate programs...? When I run it from DX4WIN I get two
empty windows there. Which kind of interface do I need to make it
running..? I have a G4ZLP interface, with serial port, will work with
MMTTY/DX4WIN..? Sorry so many questions, but I did some RTTY years ago and
was not with DX4WIN. ThankĀ“s your help.

[Dx4win] DX4WIN crashes

2006-12-25 Thread Endorf Family
Help,
I have been running DX4WIN V5.03 for long time on a Pentium with 128Mb RAM.
I just loaded N1MM software and MMTTY software. Many other programs
including these two new ones have been running, and continue to run fine.
However now when I launch DX4WIN, I get a system memory error, as soon as I
try to do anything.
What is the minimum memory requirements of DX4WIN?
Something else I am missing?
I did a DX4WIN re-install.
I removed, cleaned, reshuffled, and reseated the memory SIMMS.
Any ideas, direct them to me.
THANKS!

1) Can't minimize PSK window. Is that possible? What PSK and RTTY
windows active and minimized at same time. RTTY is run through TNC --
not MMTTY. Thus both can be active simultaneously.
2) Tried changing time on a logged QSO, it won't let me. Can change any

3) Tried importing my 105K QSO file via ADIF import. Ended up with over
4000 exceptions. DXCC totals per band and per mode totals didn't match
by a lot. Trying to resolve and fix these differences seems like an
impossible task. Having notes of the difference associated with each
QSO instead on in a file doesn't help. Any suggestions?
4) Any way to SH/DX rather than bringing up the PACKET screen? Was

5) Any way to get a blank background rather than all the WINDOW's ICON's

6) No field for NAME in QSO screen. Guess one of the notes fields will
have to do.
7) Going to have to look through the filters section stuff a lot. I
really want the capability to search through the logbook file setting
particular defined bands, modes and frequencies and generate a screen or
file of the QSO's that match. I suppose that is possible. Don't
quickly see how.
8) Any way to easily edit the country library within DX4WIN to quickly

Before spending $90, I'm interested in resolving some of the above.

[Dx4win] WinKeyer USB with DX4WIN

2006-12-25 Thread Dave Hawes
WinKeyer USB does work fine with 7.02.15.

However, I have a follow on question.

The Fx keys only send their messages when in "keyboard" mode, which
is entered by Alt-K. You can only type callsigns and reports, etc.
while the QSO window has focus, which is another Alt-K. Is there a
way to keep the focus on the QSO window while still having access to
the messages in the Fx keys? Maybe the logic should be that if the
keyboard window is visible, and focus is in the QSO window, then the
F keys should send the CW messages.

Possible? Feature request?
