[Dx4win] Multiple MMTTY windows

2008-01-22 Thread Garry Shapiro
Since my query re setting up a second MMTTY window, I have received no
replies with the requested information. I must therefore presume that
either it cannot be done, or no one with that knowledge read the message.

I have been using MMTTY in one window, with a second RTTY window using a
hardware modem, in this case a much-modified PK232MBX. I had simply
combined the main and sub audio outputs at AF OUT and fed both the sound
card and the PK232, providing two versions of whichever audio channel
was selected. To separately monitor the main and sub channels
necessitated selecting one VFO and deselecting the other.

I have now removed the combiner and feed main audio to the sound card
for MMTTY and the sub audio to the PK232, thus losing the second copy,
but allowing monitoring of both frequencies simultaneously without
having to press buttons.

I would still be interested to know if it is possible to have a second
MMTTY window.

Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I probably should know how to do this, but I guess I don't...at
least I can't get the font to change.

I've tried numerous different fonts by changing the font in the
pull-down box in Preferenceslabels.

Regardless of which font I actually choose, nothing changes on the
screen. I've made changes and then closed out the program (after
saving changes), but still no luck.

If you can help, please let me know, either on or off the list. I
imagine this has happened to at least one other person.

Thanks, in advance,

[Dx4win] mode changes when click on spot

2008-01-22 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I'll get rid of the old FT2000 file on my web site, leaving only V8I
there, *if* I can give proper credit to the authors. I got the file
from W1TJL but I don't believe he's one of the people working on it.

You need RIG FILE FT-2000 V8I (version I)

I do not understand why the OLD rig file is still there.

BUT ONE THING...if you are in SPLIT MODE the A freq and the B freq
will SPOT REVERSED in the window and go out the to the cluster that way.

The font name setting under PreferencesLabels is for Reports, not Labels.

To set the label font go to LabelsPrint QSL Labels and press the Edit
button on the Print QSL Labels box. Then double click in the Callsign
font and/or Body font to set those fonts.

[Dx4win] Export to Excel format

2008-01-22 Thread David, K2DBK
Welcome back Paul. You guys did a terrific job!

The way I've exported my log in the past is to select the Logbook
window, then right-click and select write to file. You can select
different Logbook reports and customize which fields you want to export.

The file will be written as a CSV file, which Excel will read in easily.

I hope this helps.

[Dx4win] Help

Is there a way to get a list of the countries worked,
say on 160m, sorted by the date I first worked them?

I have it working with a FT1K MK V. I generally run MMTTY as 2 stand
alone programs, but just tried it with DX4WIN using it's interface to
the main MMTTY program and brought up the second version of MMTTY in a
stand alone configuration.

Installing two separate copies of MMTTY seems to work fine under XP. The
key is setting the main or original installed version of MMTTY to use
the Left side of the sound card and the 2nd copy to use the right side.
Transmit is always done as FSK from the main version of MMTTY which with
the FT1K MK V can be on either VFO.

Hope this helps,

Subject: [Dx4win] Rig files... more questions.
Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hey all,

I was wondering what the meaning of some of the parameters
are that make up the rig files, most specifically for the IC-756 Pro III.
Some of them are quite self-explanatory, it's the others that puzzle me.

Here's my brief list:

1) NOTES=Selects narrow filter for CW/SSB. How is this done, i.e.
what command is sent to the rig and how does that work?

Personally, I'd like the rig to go to the Wide CW Filter. How and where
do I change this in the rig file or how do I send a CI-V command to
accomplish same?

2) RMUL= 1.00E+
and WMUL= 1.00E+
What are these multipliers?

3) RITSCL= 1.00E+
Hmmm, what does this do?

I have access to the CI-V command set, but have never tried sending commands
to the radio, any suggestions?

[Dx4win] Rig files... more questions.

2008-01-22 Thread Alan Sewell
Walt,

Having just stumbled through setting up an Omni VII rig file I think I
can answer a couple of these.

I don't know how the filter selection is handled.

The RMUL WMUL are the Read Freq and Write Freq multipliers. They are
usually one but if a rig reads writes a multiple of the frequency this
can be used to adjust it.

RITSCL is the same as RMUL WMUL except it is for the RIT.

I would suggest you take a look at the radio database editor in DX4WIN.
There is also a Test tab in the editor that you can see what the program
is sending to the radio and what the radio is returning.

You can search for 160m qsos with F8.
Then under logbook window (windowlogbook) you can edit the report (right
click) and add the prefix also (if you have already done it). So you will
have an excel file containing all the info. Now the question is how to ask
excel to make this sort by prefix and date. An excel expert pse?

A second more dx4win way is this. (i didn't try this but i thin kit works)

If i am right, dx4win select for dxcc submission the first confirmed qso. So
search for 160m qsos, make a fake confirm of all these, clear the existed
submitted or checked flags, DON'T save this log, and make a new submission
only for 160m (this means to edit the preferencesdxcc). Now search for
submitted 160m qsos and under logbook window ask a report with date and
prefix at least and save this. Import in excel and you have what you want (i
think)
