Re: [Dx4win] Importing Dupes
A contest dupe in this case is not the same thing... it's a dupe at a different time. In fact, depending on jurisdiction, you should log dupes. Anyway, Jim gave you the best answer. I believe DX4Win will import dupe QSOs with the same time as long as either County or Grid are different. The other work-around, if it's only a few contacts at issue, is to alter the time by a couple of minutes. Doesn't impact contest scoring. Re: [Dx4win] MMTTY Function Key Messages
Thanks for the explanation, Larry. It seems funny they would be in both the .INI and .CFG files, but your kludgy solution is actually pretty usable and will take care of my needs. Thanks, again Dick At 02:32 AM 9/20/2010, Larry Gauthier \(K8UT\) wrote: Dick, The macro definitions for CW, PSK31, and RTTY modes are all contained within your save\DX4WIN.CFG file, which cannot be edited off-line. {well, not unless someone has written an editor to read/write the CFG file} However, there is a work-around for editable macros. Aside from the short, non-changing macros like MyCall, ReplyCQ and EndQSO (which I never change), I created a subdirectory named dx4w804\macros, and within that subdirectory I placed text files with long or often-edited macros - names like FL_CW_bragsheet.txt and FK_RTTY_intro.txt and FK_PSK_callcq.txt. Then, in the CFG macro definitions, I call those text files with the corresponding macro string: i.e. Intro|%f..\macros\FK_RTTY_Intro% It's a bit of a kludge, but has worked for me for many years. I suppose if you really wanted to, you could divert EVERY function key as FK_RTTY_F1.txt and FK_RTTY_F2.txt... and direct every macro to an external file. -larry K8UT -- From: Dick Flanagan d...@k7vc.com Sent: Sunday, September 19, 2010 8:55 PM To: DX4WIN Reflector dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] MMTTY Function Key Messages I have been using MMTTY with D4W and have made several changes to the MMTTY function keys. The changes all take and appear to be fine. What I would like to do is find the file where these function keys are mapped so I can edit them off-line. I have looked at the D4W.ini file, but all I see are the original MMTTY key mappings, not the ones I changed them to. Can someone tell me where these mappings are so I can edit them off-line? Thanks. [Dx4win] DX4WIN F2 Key
Just a quick question Running version 5.xx for years it sure was nice to hit the F2 key to confirm contacts. I've been running version 8.03 now for awhile but get frustrated that the F2 key does not confirm the contact anymore. Is it a bug in this version? In the latest version out (8.04) I think, Does the F2 key confirm the contacts again or am I missing something fairly easy here? It gets to be a pain to go to the confirm field and select Y then click on save changes?. Another quick question Is there a manual out for version 8.xx yet? [Dx4win] Bulletins?
Friends, The DX4Win logging application was recommended to me. I'm very pleased with it, and am looking forward to learning more about it. A couple weeks ago, I signed up to the DX4Win Reflector. I used my ARRL email address, but never received any of the traffic. My (ever helpful and patient) friend Mr. Paul van der Eijk suggested I sign up again using my direct email address. I did that, but still have not received any traffic from the Reflector. Maybe I don't understand how it works. Does the DX4Win Reflector administrator email activity to members? Or does sign-up merely permit access to the website? Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN F2 Key
F2 confirms the QSO on 8.04 here. But it should work on 8.03 as well. Check File/Preferences/F2 Key to see if you are set to what you want. [Dx4win] Macro Control Codes
I'm in the process of playing with MMTTY macros and the Help file refers to %A through %Z as being control codes. %M for CR/LF, %E for EOT, etc. I'm curious about the etc. Where can I find a list of the control codes so I know what is available via %A-%Z?
