[Dx4win] DX4WIN - Kenwood TS570S Parameters (Repost)

2011-02-12 Thread Bill Turner
I've been working on computer control for the TS-570S and have it going for
N1MM, FLDigi, and HRD but I'm missing something for DX4WIN.

The CTRL indication appears on the Kenwood front panel screen for 10 seconds,
then disappears and I get an error message:
Radio timed out
Radio interface has been disabled

Here is the setup:
DX4WIN 8.04
User Level set to advanced

Compaq Presario 1500 laptop
Using a Radio Shack Gigaware Serial to USB converter assigned to COM10
Windows XP, SP3
Transceiver: Kenwood TS-570S

Preferences:
Radio:

Address 00 Default checked
Baud Rate 9600 Default checked
RTS checked
Kenwood without S meter (However, 570 does have an S meter )
COM port 10
Poll rate (ms) 500 (5000 does not work either)

Transverter offset 0
Bands None

Kenwood Transceiver  Menu:

If someone is running a similar combination, could you compare your settings
and
see what I've missed?
Thanks,

[Dx4win] Modes

2011-02-12 Thread Dean Norris
When I log a QSO, I am required to pick from a list of modes. Most of the
time the list is not in a position to display the mode I want. I only use
SSB, CW, RTTY and FM.

Is there any way to delete the rest of the modes showing on the list??

Thanks,

Re: [Dx4win] Radio drivers for IC-7600 and IC-7700

2011-02-12 Thread Massimo 'Max' MUCCI - I8NHJ
Just downloaded the dx4win driver and testing it.
The second VFO is continuously checked and the radio goes back to the first VFO
after any check.
No way to use the Dual Watch, the fast split and many of the standard feature
on the second VFO.
The driver is useless that way.

Re: [Dx4win] Radio drivers for IC-7600 and IC-7700

2011-02-12 Thread Mel
Running a 7700 firmware V1.20 with 8.05 and it doesn't do anything
differently than the previous rig file. It doesn't load the split freq
into notes with the $$ variable. I tried the radio test mode and
itndoesn't read the split mode.

Has anyone successfully used the new 7700 driver? Any suggestions?

Dick,
Sorry, I missed to mention the radio indeed.
It is the 7600. The split mode is read and set correctly but I suspect that
reading the VFO B frequency, the driver
issues the commands 'Select VFO B', 'Read Frequency and mode' than 'Select VFO
A'.

My SteppIr and the K1-Expert connected on the CI-V bus go crazy that way... HI
HI HI

We just need ICOM makes the Read/set VFO B frequency and mode command
available very soon.

Re: [Dx4win] Modes

Just unselect the modes not used in preferences. They will still appear
in the drop down, but the ones you have selected to use appear first so
if you enter S, C. R, or F once it will select the right mode. Of
course, if your radio is less than 30 years old you can probably read
the information automatically.
