Re: [Dx4win] ST0R Spots
Hi Val The spot does not show because you have worked that ST0R station before. Let's imagine there is another operation using ST0S. Such a spot would show up in red letters. A station worked on same band and mode will not show up again... UNLESS you put that call in your alert window. In such a case, all spots from that station will show as #1 priority. 73 Paul F6EXV Le 03/08/2011 14:21, Hugh Valentine a écrit : I just noticed something. I saved the new country files right before ST0R was activated. Thanks Jim! When ST0R is spotted on a new Band, the spot shows as yellow on the Packet screen(New Country). And, obviously I have not confirmed the contact via QSL or LOTW. However, unlike every other country I have worked but not confirmed, which spots in red letters, My packet screen does not show spots of ST0R on any band on which I have previously made a QSO. Can anyone give me some reason for this? And how to correct? All other countries I have worked but not yet confirmed show in Red letters. Why not ST0R? the spot simply does not show. The Same Call window will show AD1C, AD1C/0 and AD1C/KH4 QSOs without requiring the modifications you describe. The problem with what you are doing is that if the other station uploads his log to Logbook of the world, signed with the AD1C/0 certificate, and you upload the same QSO but logged as AD1C, LoTW will never match those two QSOs. Here is an example: recently I think ZS9Z/1 uploaded their log to LoTW (Penguin Island). They got hundreds of matches. They also signed the *same log* as ZS9Z/ZS1, uploaded those QSOs and got *even more* matches. This means DXers were logging callsigns *other* than what the DX operator was signing. A provisional prefix bloc assignment may be made by the Secretary General of ITU. [Dx4win] Clublog and DX4Win
Hi all ! This message is really for the DX4Win _and_ Clublog users. Within DX4Win, I have marked (this is ONE example, there are other calls in the same situation) XZ5A (QSO on 15 June 1981) as Invalid in the column DXCC for all mixed, band and mode. When I upload the adif file created, I do get a message from Clublog that I can suppress future notifications by marking my QSO as Invalid. Well, it is already marked as invalid Anyone has faced this situation ? How did you solve it if you did ? Is it necessary to mark Invalid in ALL the boxes ? 73 Paul F6EXV __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] New entities
Hello all After installing the latest version of the country file, and merging with my old one, I find that for example a QSO with PJ2MI in 1992 is still counted for the new entity of Curacao, and a QSO with PJ0J in 1987 is still counted for the new entity of St Maarten. It looks like the callsign mapping does not consider the start date of the (potential) new entities when callsigns are imported. Is this a bug, or have I done something wrong ? Re: [Dx4win] New entities
Hi all I believe I did it right (merging the old into the new). The calls other than PJ0J and PJ2MI are treated correctly though, so I just changed the entity for these 2 calls, adding a /D in the prefix box. Looks like my stats are now correct. 73 Paul F6EXV Le 12/10/2010 01:19, Jim Reisert AD1C a écrit : On Mon, Oct 11, 2010 at 2:51 AM, F6EXV Paulf6...@wanadoo.fr wrote: Hello all After installing the latest version of the country file, and merging with my old one, I find that for example a QSO with PJ2MI in 1992 is still counted for the new entity of Curacao, and a QSO with PJ0J in 1987 is still counted for the new entity of St Maarten. Re: [Dx4win] TRYING AGAIN
Hello DX4Win will do all the statistics very easily. You just need to tell the program to only consider the LoTW confirmed contacts in the report generator / award flags. The procedure to upload the new QSOs to LoTW, and import the new confirmations is not automatic, but still very simple. I do it in a few minutes at the end of every month... Unless you want to submit to DXCC several times a year, I do not see the need to do all this too often ! 73 Paul F6EXV Le 08/10/2010 17:26, Jorge Diez - CX6VM a écrit : Really you need to do all of that? Re: [Dx4win] PJ split
Hi again The vast majority of the DX community ASSUMES there will be changes; which is indeed LIKELY. There are still many questions to answer by the DXAC ( I am not surprised they have not said anything yet). But keep in mind there are several options. 1/ Delete the 2 present PJs and create 4 new entities. 2/ Just create 2 new entities : if so, most everyone _assumes_ these will be Curaçao and Sint Marteen. It may not be that obvious. The DXAC in the past has taken MANY irrational decisions. So, unless DXAC explains in advance how they view the situation, I would not bet on any obvious decision. To just name one example : the date of creation of FJ is questionable. The unpublished reasoning is the date the island was added to the DoS list of special sovereignty areas makes it a new entity. This date is actually the date of the information by the DoS of the new political status, but the actual change took place earlier. Another question is : why did they not delete the combination of the ex FS and FJ, and create 2 new entities, since the political change affected both islands simultaneously and equally ? So again, unless DXAC makes an official annoucement of what they _plan_ to do, I would wait for the decision to be official. Will be happy to discuss that off the list. 73 Paul F6EXV Le 19/08/2010 20:04, Jim Reisert AD1C a écrit : On Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 10:50 AM, Neil G0JHCg0...@blueyonder.co.uk wrote: I don't want to over write my current country file but would prefer to add the new PJ DXCC's that seem 99.9% certain to happen on 10/10/10 to my current file. John has worked all 488 continental US grid squares and I think is one QSL away from completing the Fred Fish Memorial Award (http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Fred%20Fish.pdf). I made some changes today so the utility works with DX4WIN8 (DX4WIN7 still works). The utility also now treats submitted/approved credits as confirmed. I'm also going to improve the title bar so you know what fields are being displayed. Including the full name in each grid square of the output prevents it from fitting on a single page. Unfortunately, it's still a command-line program, that I'll release sometime this weekend. I'll create a Windows interface in the next release (after this one, no timetable). With the Windows interface, there will be a button so you can see the output immediately in your web browser of choice (then print it). Here are some ideas I've come up with, though I don't know how to implement some of them: 1. Overlay the grid data on top of a real map (don't know how to do this) 2. Print the field names in the background of each field (don't know how yet) 3. Rotate the page as landscape, so instead of 3x4 it's 4x3 (this means text has to rotate also, which may not be supported in HTML) 4. Color-code the field backgrounds (maybe add a legend). Is there any value in this? 5. Larger output, i.e. print more fields on a 11x17 printer (everyone has one of these, right)? Does anyone else have other ideas that I don't have time to work on? :-) 73 - Jim AD1C __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
