Re: [Dx4win] Spots filtering by using Membership list
Sorry for previous missed text. I would like add one more argument. The rules have been changed: "Paper QSL cards may not be combined with LoTW applications anymore for the DXCC award program. (Hybrid application). The hybrid application process is still available for the WAS and VUCC programs. All QSLs, whether confirmed in LoTW or with paper QSL card are eligible for your DXCC award however the application processes are seperate. Effective April 2, 2012 the 3 methods of applying for DXCC are: a.. Traditional Paper Card b.. Online DXCC c.. LogBook of The World (LoTW)" This is one more reason why this would help, especially when "Warning messages" are in use. 73's Vigis LY2CX - Original Message - From: "LY2CX" To: Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2018 3:57 PM Subject: Spots filtering by using Membership list Hi All Users of the greatest software ! I'm back to the reflector after long time with one suggestion. It would be great ( I think) to use Membership List "Memb" data filed letters ( L, E, ect.) for spots filtering. E.g. I would like to see only those spots who are LOTW group members (Memb = L), or some other group members - may be for some short time, or for some special award with a list of calls. I do not know how big work for Paul this could be. But this would be a great future and would add more flexibility in the spots filtering and would increase the usage of Membership list functionality. Or may be it's already there and I'm little back with my knowledge. 73's Vigis LY2CX DX4WIN starts together with the radio ! __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

However, I cannot get F2 to set the date into the QSL sent date location 73, John KH7T Hi John, ...I don't know that F2 ever did this. 73 - Jim AD1C -- F2 do this in the V8.2, if you set a mark in the Preferences/F2 key/Confirmatation options/ Set QSL Date to today. 73's Vigis LY2CX __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] Dx spots new band/mode
Hi, need a help please. On the spot window I do use DXCC colors, and I do expect to see colors set (in the preferences) for the New band/mode, but instead I see colors set (in the preferences) for New award band The country is never worked on this band. Is this (Award way) the only way I can see the colors for the new one on the band? Is it possible to switch off the award colors ? A lot of colors in the new version, still getting lost :) 73's Vigis LY2CX __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] Report fields in the Report Generator window
Hi All, I want to share what I don't like in this perfect software. By the way this was in the v.1.2 and my wish was to skip from this within the upgrade to v.8.02. The question is related with the Report: LogBook window. Particular with the EDITING of this LogBook Report. If on the Report LogBook to click right mouse button, to choose Report Editor we will get open Report Generator window. O the right side of this window there is a list of Report fields. Problems: 1.Those Report fields (when open this window) mismatch with the existing Report LogBook fields that I have and would like to EDIT. 2. E.g. I would like only to change the Sort Index in Report Generator window, but I can't do simply only this, I always must check Report fields and to EDIT them, otherwise if I will pres Ok button I will get totally different Report LogBook. I don't have a clue where from those Report fields are picked up by the software. This really confuses all the time. Sorry if this already was reported, but it's still there, or there are some workarounds. 73's Vigis LY2CX __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] 3 DIGIT SSB
... I am not sure what setting up the station band/mode preferences does as it has no effect on the log entry selections73 Mike K4PI Enabled bands/modes will be at the top of the list, disabled bands/modes will be at the bottom. You can see this by using the drop-down box to select the bands/modes, you'll see how they're sorted. ..So if you're adding a 17 meter QSO, then a 160 meter QSO, easiest to up-arrow to the correct band, rather than using the '1' key multiple times. 73 - Jim AD1C -- This is taken from the DX4WIN v8.02 Help: Disabled bands and modes will not be shown in the various summaries and reports, and will not be considered when making submissions for awards or flagging QSOs for which a label should be printed. The DX spotting colors and audio alerts also make use of these settings When a band or a mode is disabled they can still be entered in a QSO The sorting mentioned by Jim AD1C, also works (thanks for this, this is new for me) One remark - on my installation (v8.02) sorting starts only when I restart the program. Before restarting DX4WIN there is no sorting depending on the new disabled and saved modes. To go for 160 the shortest way is to push and keep up-arrow button, because this is the top band in the Band field. ~36 modes in the updated version compare to 3 modes in the v.1.02. ! It was enough for 12 years of using the software, now have to think how to manage all 36 :) Rgds, Vigis LY2CX __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Headings
To be very exact if use a compass to set a True NORTH, we have to take in to account 3 meanings of the north 1. True North - the point what we rally need (Geographic North Pole) 2 Magnetic North - called declination (magnetic variation) and explained by James 3 Compass North - called deviation . compass deviation depends on the environment you make a measurement. e.g. the antenna mast, or can of beer near by can make an impact. The only having those three figures it's possible to calculate a True North. The other way is to take a local map, or use Google map, to point antenna location on it and find the right known point, check the heading on the map. Point the antenna to it and make the right settings on the unit. Rgds. Vigis LY2CX -- As a former naval navigator, I have been following this discussion with interest. I agree with Jim that it makes most sense to use true north. The magnetic pole shifts each year, and the amount of shift is indicated on nautical charts as the Variation. __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] F2 functionality
Hello all. Is this a bug ? I have been using DX4WIN version 1.2 since 1996 - was very pleased with this software and decided to upgrade to 8.02. Now 8.02 version is installed. I discovered that F2 key doesn't work as it should. If go to Preferences F2 key and put a mark only for MARK QSO AS CONFIRMED, If I use ( pres) F2 in the QSO window the software changes Cnfm field to Y, but at the same time it changes Label filed to Y (means for label printing) But the label printing has separate mark box in the PreferencesF2 key setting menu and it's not marked. [Dx4win] rstS_rstR field entry when SSB
Lost a good feature in the v 8.02. In the old version V1.2, when use Real-time ( F9) or Off-time entry and SSB mode - rstS and rstR fields set to two digit (59) After entry in the field rstS two digits (e.g. 59) the cursor jumps to the next field rstR - this was in the old 1.2 version. In the new one (8.02) when use Real-time ( F9) or Off-time entry and SSB mode rstS and rstR set also to two digit, BUT, after enter to the field rstS two digits (e.g. 59) the cursor stays here and I need to use TAB key to get in the next field as well as to get out of the rstR. And this is needed to repeat with every logged QSO. It slows down logging. This Tab key is not needed when CW, but when SSB. Is this the way for ever, or some settings can help to solve this ?
