[Dx4win] 6.1 and PSK
1. I use a Rigblaster in line with my computer to key PSK-31. This has always been done through COM 4. 2. In the old DX4WIN if you clicked on Settings|TX there was a spot to specify the COM port for PSK-31 transmitting. 3. While the TX flag is in the new version it does not give me the ability to specify what COM port it is to use. Therefore, I am unable to key the transmitter in the PSK mode. The receive is fine and a double check with the old DX4WIN showed no problems with receive. or transmit . 4. Does anybody have the answer for my problem. 5. In summary my problem is that I need to tell DX4WIN that I am using COM 4 to key the RigBlaster so the signal is passed to the mike input of the transceiver. Help please. Rod WC7N [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[Dx4win] PSK31 config change in DX4WIN 6.02?
Yep I found the same problem and had the same experience as you did. My work around was to stop using DX4WIN for PSK-31. Rod WC7N - Original Message - From: "Larry Gauthier" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Sunday, March 16, 2003 10:41 AM Subject: [Dx4win] PSK31 config change in DX4WIN 6.02? In DX4WIN 5.x, the PSK screen allowed you to select the PSK keying com port from 1-8, and either RTS or DTR as the keyed line. The 5.x PSK selection was completely independent of the keyed line for CW. In DX4WIN 6.02, it seems that your only choices for PSK keying are either the CW interface or VOX. What happened to the ability to independently choose a com port? In my 5.03 configuration, I had been using the LPT port for CW keying, and the com port for keying in either PSK31 or MMTTY. As long as I did not attempt to simultaneously open the PSK window and run MMTTY, this arrangement worked fine. Under 6.02, I attempted to work-arounds... neither which seem to work: First work-around: telling DX4WIN to use the LPT CW interface for PSK keying. It doesn't work. PSK does not key via the LPT port... although CW still works fine. Second work-around: Re-configure for CW keying via the com port. This allows CW and PSK to work properly, but prevents MMTTY from running. (DX4WIN grabs control of the CW port upon launch, and if you try to subsequently launch MMTTY you get a port conflict error.) Has anyone else encountered these problems? Does anyone have a suggestion on how to solve them? -larry K8UT --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html The reason this message is shown is because the post was in HTML or had an attachment. [Dx4win] Internet DX Spot Configuration
Well if Dick is now on a broadband connection he can just leave it on. I use ve7cc which is just a great dx cluster and it has a keep alive, so I leave my computer on and dx4win up and going so anytime I walk out here I have the latest spots. Check out ve7cc.net which will explain how to set it up in your dx4win spotting window. You need to then right click on the spot window and select internet connection. The file dx4win.tcp will pop up a selection to choose from. In my case I wanted to use one that is new, W3LPL, so I added it. This is not a convenient as a TNC though as you need to go through these steps each time you start DX4WIN whereas a TNC will just listed with out any prompting when DX4WIN starts. 73 Stan, N3HS -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dick Wilson Sent: Wednesday, November 26, 2003 3:30 PM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Internet DX Spot Configuration I just got a high-speed Internet connection and coincidentally my packet TNC developed an intermittent and very annoying problem. [Dx4win] Loss of color spots
Hey people I, and I know one other KF7AJ, have a weird problem. Right after we downloaded and installed the new country list we both lost the colors in our spotting window. Now I can't really figure how these two can be associated but it has really happened. I have checked my preferences and they are just like they should be. I have this problem in 6.02 and fortunately have 6.01 also in the machine so was able to update that log and use 6.01. It, though does not have the new country list in it. [Dx4win] Upload to LOtW
When I log a contact and under upload mark that as yes and then click on label/upload for lotw everything goes almost great. It puts in the date of the upload but doesn't change the Y (yes) to N(no).Since it has then already been uploaded and it puts in the date of the upload I would think it would then change the Y to a N. Am I missing something ? Rod WC7N

Agreed, Rod. However, a free upgrade to a program that is just bug fixes won't generate any new interest in the program. I think MMTTY integration *would* be a selling point, especially for the many of us who also use MMTTY and Writelog. 73 - Jim AD1C = Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.com PGP Fingerprint: D8E2 3D78 339F A7F1 8C13 1193 B5D1 4FB6 79D1 70DC ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win

Tony once you downloaded VE7CC to a file, mine is Program Files/VE7CC I ended up with the following folders; cluster.dat, cty.dat, st6unst.log, ve7cc2.cfg, ve7cc.cfg and ve7cc.exe I created a desktop icon for ve7cc.exe. Then I opened my dx4win folder and opened the folder dx4win.tcp and entered VE7CC,127.0.0.1:7300 Now when I want to ham I click on the icon for ve7cc and when it opens I go to dx4win and right click in the packet window and click on VE7CC, 127.0.0.1:7300 Most often I can do this fast enough that it is all open before the spots roll in but if not I send it a sh/dx. Don't forget when you bring up VE7CC the first time you should go through all the setting tabs and configure them the way you want. I really like this cluster because it has the built in keep alive so I don't find it shut down on me unless I actually shut it down. The only complaint I have is that the CALLSIGN/MGR LOOKUP window does not automatically open with the rest of the windows when you start up DX4WIN. I wish it would. Each time I start DX4WIN I hit F3 to open the window and leave it open. When I log a call or do a search for a call then that call will appear in the F3 CALLSIGN window. The info from the RAC then appears in the large F3 window as well as any QSL Mgr info from the GOLIST. If the CTY file contains a QSL Mgr for this call then it will appear in the QSL MGR box. Then I can move my cursor behind either call and hit enter and the QRZ.COM page for entry for that call opens and appears. That allows me to compare the RAC/GOLIST info against the QRZ.COM info. I can then go to the mailing label link for the call on QRZ.COM, highlight the address, then cut and paste the address into the QSL MGR box on the main window or do the same with the GOLIST address shown in the F3 window. If there is no QSL Mgr then I cut and paste the address for the actual call here. That way my QSL labels will have the QSO info plus an address label for mailing the QSL card. It all works pretty smoothly once you get used to it. If anyone knows any shortcuts please share. 73, Alan, K7ACZ Duane A Calvin wrote: >Dick's response echos my exper
