[Dx4win] dxcc submission

2007-06-07 Thread Kostas sv1dpi
I agree
A nice way to do this is as follows.
When i want to make a submission i must have an option to give priority to
Lotw or to cards in hand. Still better a second option box to make selection
lotw only or cards only.
Now the dx4win submit the older qso or something like that. It doesn't help
at all in a "complicated" double (cards and lotw) dxcc submission. I waited
Paul would fix this for 7.03, but...
I believe it is urgent to do something soon. Many people (including me) will
make a submission later this year and they will have big difficulties.

[Dx4win] dxcc submission

2007-06-07 Thread Duane A Calvin
Luckily, my submission was fairly small, so I just ran the "Card in hand"
version first, then the "LOTW and CARD" version second (after clearing
all the submission flags). I saved both lists and imported into Excel
and manually marked the ones I had cards only for and compiled that list.
Later I will compile the LOTW list and do those as well and make this a
"hybrid" submission. If I had a lot more than I do (14 cards, 37 LOTW)
it would quickly become unmanageable.

I am trying to monitor my serial port that sends commands from DX4WIN to

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission

2007-05-05 Thread Tony Lord
I have decided to submit for a DXCC award!! I have also joined LOTW, and
have submitted some 5000+ QSO of which 96 are confirmed via LOTW for DXCC. I
have downloaded the LOTW data to DX4WIN (thanks Jim for your help there).
However I have many many more QSL cards received over the years. I have not
previously submitted any QSO's for DXCC, so I am a "DXCC Virgin"!!

Now how do I extract from DX4WIN details of these calls that are suitable
for DXCC submission? Can DX4WIN decide which ones are left to submit after
the previous LOTW submission??

Hi Tony,

There is where both DX4WIN and LoTW fall short - there is no path to get LoTW
submissions marked as "submitted" or "checked" in DX4WIN.

You will have to manually mark the 96 LoTW entities as Submitted in DX4WIN (you
can see the award flags after hitting F5 in the QSO window enough times).
After these are checked by ARRL, then you can use the Change Award Flags menu
to set them to Checked.

Then to make sure everything matches, download my program to compare your
DX4WIN records to LoTW:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/dx4wlotw.htm

If there are any mistakes, correct them (you can correct DX4WIN but not LoTW).

The next time you have to submit, you will have to go through this process
again, but there should be fewer entities to worry about.

You can download the latest DX4WIN.TCP file (list of DX cluster nodes
reachable via Telnet) from:

   http://dx4win.ad1c.us/cluster.htm

The release notes are as follows:

   IQ6DH-6 Added DX Spider node
   K2HVC Added DX Spider node
   IK6XMIDeleted Linux node
   W2MU Deleted DX Spider node
   VE3EY-7 Changed city to Toronto
VE3EY-7 Changed software to DX Spider

Nodes are removed if I am told they are no longer active, or they
have not been reachable recently. When a node comes back to life, it
will appear in the list again. This prevents people from trying to
connect to non-working nodes.

If there are any nodes that you use that are NOT in the file, please
let me know.

[Dx4win] DXCC SUBMISSION

2008-02-13 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I am setting up my dxcc award and need some assistance.
I have already submitted 100 cards and received my dxcc
certificate. This was done before dx4win program was being used.
I have imported all my qso's into dx4win and everything is working
just fine.
How do I tell dx4win the cards that have already been submitted for dxcc,
so that they don't get mixed up with the cards that have not been submitted.

Thank you...73.Bob

Expand your logging window using F5 until you see the award flags at the
bottom. For each QSO you submitted (use F8 to search for the call),
change the appropriate award flag (DXCC mixed/band/mode) to "Checked" to
match the credit(s) you received for that QSO. F10 saves the QSO.
Repeat for all 100 cards.

2008-03-13 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I'm not doing something right. I have dxcc (100), and I made double
sure that the card
was marked "checked" so it wouldn't be counted again.
I really don't know how to bring up a report showing me how many new
countries I
have worked since my original submission. I tried "submission" report
but that brought
up 75 countries, and I know I haven't worked that many new one', and
it also showed
me calls that have already been submitted. I looked at those cards
and they show
"checked" in the dxcc box.
Maybe DX4WIN doesn't give the type of report I'm looking for.

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission

2008-03-13 Thread Dave Sharred
Hi Bob

Politely, your email isn't making too much sense.

Have you submitted QSL's to ARRL; and had them accepted for an award (your
100 DXCC you mention) ??

If so, in DX4WIN; have a look in "Reports" "DXCC" "Summary" select all
bands / modes l what do you see ?? Do you see your 100 countries showing as
checked ?? For whichever award it is you may have ??? (You can also use
the same reports menu to look at a full and detailed report if you want !)

If not, then it doesn't look as though you have them credited in DX4WIN

If you go on the ARRL web site (Through LOTW); do you see your countries
awarded ? If so; assuming that you have linked your current DXCC award with
LOTW, you can view on line your LOTW record; and download it.

If you go to AD1C's website :
http://dx4win.ad1c.us/

Check out the utility to compare your DX4WIN status with your DXCC/LOTW
status using Jim's utility - http://dx4win.ad1c.us/dx4wlotw.htm on this
page. Then, you can fix the errors in your log book easily !

All the DXCC /// Submission options will do is move your Confirmed
countries that have not been checked by ARRL, into submitted status.

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission

2008-03-13 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
Hi Bob,

There is a path you must follow each time to make this work:

- Reports -> DXCC Submission

- Print out the list, find the cards, mail to ARRL

- When cards are returned, Reports -> Change Award Flags.
Make sure all the cards that you submitted were approved.
If not, you'll have to "undo" the "checked" award flag(s)
  for those QSOs.

The next time you go through this sequence, DX4WIN will ignore QSOs marked as
"checked" when preparing the next submission.

Now what DXCC Award(s) are you applying for? You must set your preferences,
DXCC tab, to select only the award(s) you care about. First you must select
Mixed, Band, Mode (bottom right). If you are submitting for Band credits, then
select the bands in the middle column for only those bands you care about
submitting.

There is one small problem, ARRL *will* give you credit for DXCC bands and
modes even if you didn't submit for (or care about) those awards. For example,
you only have a Mixed DXCC award, and submit a card for TX5C (Clipperton) on 40
meter CW for all-time mixed credit. ARRL will also give you 40 meter and CW
credits, which DX4WIN didn't submit. You will need to go in and manually mark
that QSO as "checked" for the "DXCC Band" and "DXCC Mode" credits.

As long as you don't save your log, you can still play around with submitting
stuff, if you don't like the results, close your log (don't save it) and
re-open it.

I hope this answers your question.

You do not HAVE to do this. However, if in the future you decide that you want
to submit for a 40 meter or CW DXCC award, DX4WIN will not know that the ARRL
has already seen this card for those credits.

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission

2003-06-05 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Good morning,

I am trying to submit an application for DXCC. Just a basic mixed mode,
mixed band DXCC. When I try to do this, DX4WIN produces a list of 600+
entriesmixed mode, mixed band and obviously, many duplicate country entries.

I have tried numerous settings under Preferences to no avail. Changing
the bands within PREFERENCES seems to have no effect on the submission listing
produced.

Is there a way from within DX4WIN to produce an accurate submission for
DXCC or do I need to take the info from DX4WIN and transfer it to a program
such
as EXCEL?

I have also experienced this problem when trying produce a basic WAS
submission. I get over 170 entries when I click on "Submission" from within
the
"REPORTS-WAS" menu regardless of the number of bands or modes I have checked
under PREFERENCES.

Thanks,

Tom, W4NBS

Set your preferences to MIXED and uncheck MODE and BAND as well as the
separate award bands. Look closely at the REPORTS/DXCC/SUMMARY and that
will show you approximately the number of qso's that will print for your
initial award. I have not seen duplicate entries printed, only those that
you selected in preferences. The same should be true on WAS also, but it
has been nearly 50 years since I submitted that one by hand. Only MIXED
should help your problems.

Tom,

When you are experimenting with submissions for DXCC, keep in mind that once a
QSO is flagged for submission, it will show up forever as to be submitted.
Under the reports menu option, there is an option to clear he submission and
checked flags.

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission

2004-12-27 Thread ARS NZ3O (Byron) FM29fx
When I do a submission, I noticed that it seems to
"default" to mixed, leaving Confirmed QSOs in both
PHO and CW summary reports.

I can't get them to be Submitted.

Can I do it by setting the existing list of Submitted QSOs
to Credited and then faking a second submission?

Naturally, I would merge the three (Mix, PHO, CW) resulting
submission logs.

Thanks! 73, Byron

Hello and thanks in advance.

I just upgraded from 5.03 to 7.01 all works fine except:

I have made many DXCC submissions using 5.03. With 5.03, each time I made
a submission the program remembered what had been credited previously and
only included the records I had individually marked for submission in the
QSO window.

Now when I try to make a submission using 7.01 it seems to start fresh and
include hundreds of QSOs for which I have already been credited.

I am missing a setting or something?

Help and thanks,

Hi Marc,

I think I can reproduce this bug in 7.01. If this is not the bug let me know:

I type in the callsign W1JR and the state is NH (from a previous QSO). I have
not saved the QSO yet. Then I realize that I got the call wrong (it's really
W1JRK), so I tab into (or click inside) the callsign field and add a "K" at the
end. The state field remains NH.

This problem does NOT occur when "Callsign Update" is enabled in the QSO
prefereces. For those of you who have never tried "Callsign Update" try it and
see. The logbook information automatically updates for each character of the
call you enter, intead of waiting until you tab/click out out of the callsign
field. I learned about it at Dayton. It's pretty neat.

I agree that this is a problem. However, imagine a fix for the above, and what
can happen:

I start to log W1ABC (new call in my log). I type in the state as RI. Then I
realize the call should have been W1BAC. I correct the call and the state
disappears! If you forget to enter it again, the information is lost.

I think fixing the problem is the right thing to do, since it's better to have
NO information than INCORRECT information. We will have to see what Paul says.

Far better to add a facility for recording start

2006-03-20 Thread Terry Dunlap
Still using 6.03 and trying to get together a submission in time for Honor Roll
postings.

I have some cards to send in and have a bunch of LOTW Qs available to submit.
Obviously some of the cards to submit are duplicates of the LOTW contacts. I
would
like to pull those cards out of the submission and use the LOTW contacts but no
matter
what I do, when I create a "DXCC Submission" those contacts are put back into
the
submission report.

Can I remove them..am I missing something?

After a lapse of 4 years I am trying to make a new DXCC submission but for the
life of me I cannot produce anything similar to what I produced previously - I
am also 4 years older !Can some one give me a detailed procedure that I can
easily follow now and in a few years time when I will be even older.

My current procedure is this -

Preferences/ Advanced user

/ DXCC Valid bands ticked

  SSB mode ticked

   Mode award ticked

Logbook sorted by Prefix

Change Award flags DXCC mode Changed

QSO / Report / DXCC / Submission

I get a list of 932 QSOs of SSB, CW and RTTY arranged in prefix order and in
band groups starting with 80m and ending at 10m

What am I doing wrong please ?

Deat Trevor

If you saved your log after you made a trying submission you must go in qso
window>reports>change award flags and clear all submitted flags.
Under file>preferences>dxcc you will say which bands you are interesting.
Also you must check that you are interesting for mixed mode. That means you
must uncheck the bands and mode... Make a submission after that and check
what you have. Be sure that you have what you want before save. Have in mind
also that if you use lotw, dx4win will submit qsos either from qsls either
from lotw without giving priority to one of two (Paul we all need this
feature) if you have checked the qsls in hand or lotw under your
preferences. A small trick to give lotw priority is to turn this choise to
lotw only, make a submission. After that turn it to cards in hand and make
another... But you have the difficult which qsos are in cards and whicw are
in lotw
Headache... 73 Kostas sv1dpi

In your Preferences under the DXCC tab, where it says "Awards", turn off the
check marks next to "Band" and "Mixed". Also turn off all the Modes check
marks except SSB (and AM and FM if you want). That should limit you to a SSB
Submission.

I hope you saved a copy of your log BEFORE you did the submission, otherwise
the submit flags will already be set. They can be cleared through Reports ->
Change Award Flags. It has to be done three times: DXCC mixed, DXCC band, DXCC
mode.

Jim,

When I cleared the submit flags I only cleared the mode because that was the
award I was after. I have now cleared all the mixed, band and mode as you
suggested and got rid of 900 odd flags.

However on doing the submission I get only 9 QSOs which appear to be my new as
yet unsubmitted QSOs i.e. those that do not have Chkd against them. This is
fine and I do need such a list but how do I get a complete list of all

submitted flags on, you must clear them in qso window>reports>change award

Hi Alan,

I got it to work just as you want (all three bands in the same
submission). QSO preferences don't matter.

In your DXCC preferences, select only the Valid Bands 20, 15 and 10
meters. Select only the Mode(s) CW. In the Awards box, select only
DXCC Band (this may be the step you missed). I've inserted a picture
which the reflector may reject:

[picture deleted]

Note that if you already have undesired submission flags set, those
QSOs will continue to be included in your submission. So before
doing the submission report again, go to Reports -> Change Award
Flags, select in-turn DXCC Band, DXCC Mode and DXCC Mixed, and "Clear
Submitted" in the next box, then "Change".

Hope this helps.

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission

2007-04-25 Thread Alan Zack

I will be attending the Intl DX Convention in Visalia this coming weekend
and will be having some QSL cards field checked.

I have manually sorted and stacked the cards I will submit. I'd like to
cross check them against my DX4WIN log to make sure I've got them all.

I have researched using the HELP Menu and the printed manual several times
and can't seem to accomplish what I want to do.

I wish to print out a DX4WIN SUBMISSION REPORT sorted for only CW contacts
on 20 mtrs, then another report for CW contacts on 15 mtrs then another for
CW on 10 mtrs (This is how the DXCC wants it done).

I have gone to PREFERENCES > DXCC and selected only 14 MHZ and CW and saved
 it.
I have gone to PREFERENCES > STATION and selected only 14 MHZ and CW and
 saved it.

No matter what I do when I go to REPORTS > DXCC > SUBMISSION I get a full
listing sorted by the band of all my DXCC contacts of both CW and SSB. I
think this is a list of anything that has not been checked yet but is not
 what I want.

I know the answer is there someplace but I messed with it for a couple of
hours last night, slept on it, tried again this morning and still no answer
so right now I am filling out the DXCC submission forms by hand but sure
seems DX4WIN should be able to do it for me if I knew how.

Less importantly, I'd like to do the same for the CQ WAZ award that will
also be field checked. I can get a list OK but can't sort it by band or
 mode.

 TIA for any help.

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission

2007-04-25 Thread ON4AOI

Alan,
It sure is possible no problem just follow the steps below

Example for 20M CW

LOG is OPEN
First select with F8 20Meter and CW qso?s and if you like Cnfm (QSL) =Y
The result is a new list don?t save it.
Go to FILE and select IMPORT/EXPORT
There you select ID = DX4WIN6 (depends on your current version)
Go into file from that window and select EXPORT
Give the file a name like 20MCW
SAVE IT
When asked if you should do that because there is a filter active say YES
After this is all done close your log not DX4WIN
Go to file and select NEW log
Name it 20MCW
Go to FILE and select IMPORT/EXPORT
There you select ID = DX4WIN6 (depends on your current version)
Go into file from that window and select IMPORT
SELECT now 20MCW.DSQ
The log will imported and you have what you want
ONLY 20 METER CW qso?s are in it
In Submission only those for 20m will be shown

[Dx4win] DXCC submission info

2007-02-20 Thread John (N1JP)
In DX4WIN, within a band, what condition must be met for:

Mixed check?
Band check?
Mode check?

What I am getting at is, when I receive credit in LOTW for a country and I
enter this into DX4WIN, how do I know which DXCC boxes get changed to Chkd?
Do I just do BAND, or BAND and MIXED, or all three. If you let DX4WIN make
these changes based on the F2 key entry of a received card for submission,
for a later visit to the league, it appears to selectively choose which box
gets changed. I would like my DX4WIN accounting agree with the LOTW matrix.

Anyone know the answer? I would appreciate your help.

Thanks in advanced,

John (N1JP)

Note that one QSO could cause 1, 2 or 3 of the above to be checked,
depending on how "new" it is. For example, if your only P5 QSO is on
20 meter RTTY, then all three boxes would end up checked.

>I would like my DX4WIN accounting agree with the LOTW matrix.

I have a program which helps you find the CREDITS that don't match
(http://dx4win.ad1c.us). However, it doesn't help you find the exact
QSO. If you have copies of all your submission/endorsement paperwork
(what credits you claimed), then you can usually figure this out. In
some cases it will be ambiguous, i.e. your first two VU4 QSOs ever
are on 20 SSB and 17 CW, and you submit both cards - which one
actually counted towards your MIXED award? It doesn't matter, but I
think the league has a record of it somewhere.

Hi Marv,

DX4WIN will try to submit them again. Either mark those QSOs unconfirmed (or
invalid), or save the submission to a file, then edit out the missing QSLs.

[Dx4win] DXCC submission problem

2002-06-11 Thread <[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Todd Strait)
Once you reach the 100 count mark needed for a submission these will move to
the submitted column. This same issue had me confused a couple of years
ago. For those individual awards you need 100 confirmed to apply so they
remain in the confirmed column until you hit that number, at which time they
will move to the submitted column.

Hi Marv,

I've had the same problem.

You could take a ruler and draw a straight black line through the QSO on the
endorsement submission. Or in the DXCC Submission window, right-click to save
the file, then open it in Excel and delete the missing QSLs, and re-printit.

In either case, you need to modify those QSOs in your log to "unsubmit" them.
Expand the QSO window using F5 until you see the award flags at the bottom,
search for the QSO(s), then set the DXCC award flag(s) back to "--" and save
the QSO.

If you know of QSOs where you *do* have the card (to replace the missing ones),
F8 to find the QSO, then manually mark the appropriate DXCC award flag(s) as
"Submitted" and save the QSO. After you have done this, run Reports -> DXCC ->
Submission and those QSOs should show up. DXCC normally picks the most recent
confirmed QSO, and this method is the only way to over-ride that.

[Dx4win] DXCC submission mode order

2002-09-25 Thread Carter Grabarczyk
Good suggestion-it probably would be a good idea to use the ARRL form as
an exact model. In that vein, I would also suggest modifying the date
format of the DX4WIN submission sheet for DXCC as follows:

Current DX4WIN date format: 25 Sep 2002

Format used on ARRL form:25/09/02

Also, while on the subject of the DXCC submission form, how does
everyone handle what the ARRL calls "multiple QSLs"; i.e. a single card
with two or more QSOs.

My answer is to choose "print to file" (a comma delimited Excel file)
and then manually edit. Maybe it's just me not being an Excel wizard,
but would it be helpful to also be able to have it create either a
Microsoft Word file or a generic text file, either of which (for me
anyway), would be easier to manipulate than the Excel file.

[Dx4win] DXCC submission mode order

2002-09-25 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I don't think the order matters as long as the modes are grouped together by
band, since the form indicates "e.g." (for example). Besides the possible
date problem also noted, with an "m" in the "band" column, I have band sorted
alphabetically (15m, 160m, 17m) not numerically. (I exported to an old
database program). I will be making a submission at the Virginia Beach
hamfest this weekend, and I understand Bill Moore will be there checking
cards, so can get back with conclusions and any problems with my submission.

How can I clears these flags under mode in the log?

Dick, are these really things that ought to be submitted for mode award (that
possibly you don't have)?

Go into Preferences -> DXCC and turn off the mode award selections.

You'll have to do the original submission again but these other QSOs should no
longer be submitted.

I don't think this problem is particular to 7.01 or any other

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission and LoTW

2005-03-02 Thread Bud Governale
A DXCC Report Submission appears to produce a list of most recent QSL's
including LoTW confirmations. When looking for cards in the report, I can't
tell
if I'm missing a card if it's a LoTW confirmation except by looking it up in
DX4WIN. In almost all cases I have a card in hand and don't need to use the
LoTW
confirmation.
Can DX4WIN produce a DXCC Submission report which will only include a LoTW
confirmation if a QSL card is not received (conf NY)?
How can I change the DXCC Submission report to replace listed LoTW calls with
those QSL's I already have?
When a confirmed list is received from ARRL, how do I confirm only those calls
which were submitted and accepted?

[Dx4win] dxcc submission problems & suggestions

2006-06-13 Thread Kostas Stamatis
It is very common someone has lotw confirmations and cards in hand also.
Case I
If i go to a hamfest for checking cards for the dxcc...
I want to give priority to cards in hand except 160m qsos (checkers usually
can not check these cards so it is better to give priority to lotw for
160m), to get a list so i can find the cards and after that submit lotw
"cards" also
Case II
If i submit the cards by post
I want to give priority to lotw "cards" as to send as a few cards as
possible by post and save money.
In previous versions (6.xx??) i could do this trick when i submitted for
dxcc while i had cards in hand or upload only checked under
file>preferences.
Now this trick doesn't work ok (While i have abt 600 new bands for challenge
and some for new modes i get over 1000 to submit. if submit with "cards or
upload" get 630 cards).
In addition when i ask for dxcc listing and double click in qsos confirmed
by lotw, dx4win says that the qso doesn't exist.
Suggestions
We must solve the problems.
It would be nice to have a choice where to give priority for dxcc
submissions and make things simple.
I like the addition of L. Why not the * also for the checked bands?

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission Help Pse

2014-12-21 Thread Mike Rhodes

Ok, I have a DXCC submission nearly ready to go. I know, nothing like
waiting until the last minute.

Anyhow, I am looking for ways to generate the report using ONLY the
submissions I have already selected using a combination of filters and
manual entries.

If I choose "submission" in the DXCC report generator, I get all my
entries plus an additional 175 or so that I don't want to deal with at
this time. Is there a way to run the submission report and not have it
select additional entries that are not wanted? If so, that would pretty
much wrap up the process for me, other than sorting the cards to match
the list and segregating the multiple entry ones.

If that is not possible, is there a way to set a filter that will give
me a report that shows entries marked 'submission' regardless if the
submission is for Band, Mode, or Mixed, or any and all of the above?
Then I can do the grunt work in Excel.

As it stands at the moment, the only way I can come up with to generate
the submission report is mainly brute force and awkwardness. I have to
filter on Band, Mode, and Mixed submissions individually, merge the
files in Excel, delete duplicate entries, and then arrange them in the
proper DXCC submission order. Certainly doable but definitely a PITA!

Any and all hints, tips, tricks, or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

[Dx4win] DXCC submission band/mode question

2011-01-31 Thread Loren Hunt
I am trying to set DX4WIN (8.04) to properly submit for DXCC. Under App notes I
found the following:
"This step makes a list of confirmed QSOs that will add to your various DXCC
Award totals. It's important to have your station and DXCC Award preferences
set
up correctly before you do this."

The problem is I can't find a way to set things up so as to not submit every
band/mode combination. For instance, I have JA Awarded on SSB (10M)  and on 80M
(CW). When I do a report for submitted I get an 80M SSB QSO showing up in the
list. Since DXCC isn't band/mode specific (DXCC is band specific OR mode
specific), the awards desk will indicate 80M and SSB have already been Awarded.

There must be a setup I'm not setting correctly...

1. Go to Reports, Awards, and uncheck Lotw under the Confirmation box in
the upper left. This ensures that you will only be submitting confirmations
which have been confirmed via a card.

2. Click on Reports, Award flags and then select DXCC Mixed in the upper
box and Clear Submitted in the Action box and then click on the Change
button. Next select DXCC band in the upper box, Clear Submitted and Change.
Finally, select DXCC mode in the upper box, Clear Submitted and Change.
This clears out all QSOs that you might have already marked for Submission.
This step is a precaution to ensure that you did not run Submission before
with the LOTW button selected as outlined in Step 1.

3. Click on Reports and under Report / Action, select Submission. This
will mark all cards eligible for DXCC credit for Submission and create a
report that you can view. You should right click and print the report. It
would be great if Paul would allow the user to right click on this report
and create an ADIF file for submission to the ARRL. Unfortunately, you
cannot create the ADIF file at this point. So save the report that you just
printed out and move on to Step 4.

4. Go back to the main QSO entry screen and press F5 several times until
the Award boxes appear at the bottom of the window. Then hit F8 and click
on the Mixed box under DXCC and select S (for submission). Then click on
File in the upper left on DX4WIN and select Import/Export. Select ADIF and
then File again in the smaller window and Export. It should prompt you with
a warning that you are running a Filter, say yes that you want to export
using the filter. Name the file something like yourcall mixed. You have
just created an ADIF file for all QSOs eligible for DXCC Mixed credit. You
have to repeat this process two more times -- after doing a F8 filter for
DXCC Band and then a filter for DXCC Mode. You should end up with three
ADIF files named yourcall mixed, yourcall band and yourcall mode. Remember
where you saved these ADIF files.

5. Finally, go to the ARRL website and log into the online DXCC submission
page. I can't remember the exact navigation within the submission pages,
but in essence you are simply going to import the three ADIF files one at a
time. The DXCC online form allows you to import multiple ADIF files into
the form. Very easy. When you get done, you should click on the View
Submission button and compare all the listed QSOs in this report to the
DX4WIN Submission report that you printed out in Step 3. When I did this,
my online report matched the DXCC Submission report exactly. I then merely
had to sort my cards to appear in the order as presented in the online
submission form and then complete the submission. I took all of my cards to
my local DXCC card checker.

This process is a bit complicated and requires some advanced knowledge of
DX4WIN. Paul could make this whole process a snap by allowing users to
create an ADIF file directly from the Submission report once it is
generated.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Dave, N4QS

Subject: [Dx4win] DXCC Submission Help Pse

Ok, I have a DXCC submission nearly ready to go. I know, nothing like
waiting until the last minute.

Anyhow, I am looking for ways to generate the report using ONLY the
submissions I have already selected using a combination of filters and
manual entries.

If I choose "submission" in the DXCC report generator, I get all my entries
plus an additional 175 or so that I don't want to deal with at this time. Is
there a way to run the submission report and not have it select additional
entries that are not wanted? If so, that would pretty much wrap up the
process for me, other than sorting the cards to match the list and
segregating the multiple entry ones.

If that is not possible, is there a way to set a filter that will give me a
report that shows entries marked 'submission' regardless if the submission
is for Band, Mode, or Mixed, or any and all of the above?
Then I can do the grunt work in Excel.

As it stands at the moment, the only way I can come up with to generate the
submission report is mainly brute force and awkwardness. I have to filter on
Band, Mode, and Mixed submissions individually, merge the files in Excel,
delete duplicate entries, and then arrange them in the proper DXCC
submission order. Certainly doable but definitely a PITA!

Any and all hints, tips, tricks, or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Tnx es 73 de

Please check the award flags for both QSOs. The JA on 10 SSB should
have both DXCC Band and DXCC Mode set to "Checked" (awarded). The JA
on 80 CW should also have both DXCC Band and DXCC Mode set to

If those are really both set, and you are still getting the incorrect

Re: [Dx4win] DXCC submission band/mode question

2011-01-31 Thread Loren Hunt
Jim,
I think the issue is that the "Submitted" flags which were erroneously set a
few weeks ago have not been cleared.

So I go to "Reports>Award Flags>Clear submitted" and I do this for mixed then
band then mode. So after doing all of this I do a "Reports>Listing" and there
are still multiple "S" flags showing up. So the "Clear Submitted" doesn't seem
to be working.

If I manually go through and un-check the submitted flag then all is good (for
that QSO).

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission List, No Duplicate Countries

2006-04-07 Thread Larry M. Leitch
Hi All,

What is the easiest (and best) way to get a list of QSOs (without
duplicate countries) to be submitted for DXCC? When I go to
Reports...DXCC...Submission I get multiple entries for some countries
because there have been QSOs on different bands/modes with that country.

I would like to easily print a report and then select cards which match
the report and then submit those cards.

Thanks.

I did that; it makes sense. But there is no difference. I saved changes,
created new .ini file, exited DX4Win, restarted the program, opened the
file, and the country count is the same; there are duplicates.

Once the submission flags are set, they will stay set. You have to clear them
all, the re-run the submission report.

How can I delete the 1000 or so contacts "upload date", that all show the exact
same date without disturbing any other entries for these 1000 or so contacts.
How in the world did all these contacts get populated with the same date? I
sure didn't do it!
I have been using DX4WIN for over a year now without this problem.
I set the "upload flag" to "N" with no help, the upload date remained.
I can't see me deleting this entered date one by one.
Can anyone help?

[Dx4win] DXCC submission via LoTW and not DX4WIN

2011-10-29 Thread Dennis Petrich
Hello all,

I just linked all my contacts in LoTW to get DXCC award. I don't have any
of my QSL cards checked at ARRL yet but I had more than enough confirmations
to get DXCC Mixed and Phone. So I went ahead and paid my fee's and pushed
the button That was Friday

Now this morning I see in DX4WIN the Reports > DXCC and Award flags and
Award buttons. Did I make a booboo by doing it from LoTW instead of from
DX4WIN?? Or can I download the ARRL results back to DX4WIN to synch the two
up??

So, is this an irrecoverable booboo or do I need to even worried about it?

Thanks in advance for all help!

No, there is no other way to submit LoTW credits, but paper QSLs are
easier to track in DX4WIN using the award submission process (see
below).

> Or can I download the ARRL results back to DX4WIN to synch the two up??

There is no such facility at LoTW, nor are there ADIF fields defined
for such a transfer.

You should read this application note:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/dxcc.html

You have some work to do to get your awarded DXCC credits in-sync
between DX4WIN and LoTW, but I wrote a program to help you do this
(the text links to it). It will be easier the next time when you
submit fewer credits, but it will still have to be done manually.

[Dx4win] DXCC Submission question about LOTW and paper QSL's

2005-05-09 Thread Duane A Calvin
I've been doing LOTW now for several months, but have not submitted any
of the QSL's there for awards. Meanwhile, I have about 100 cards that I
can submit for endorsements including a few new countries. I usually
take my cards to Ham-Com in Dallas during June for QSL checking there.
However, now my questions begin, and I'm hoping some of you have been
through this already to know how well DX4WIN works in this regard (mixed
QSLing). My questions are:

1. Does DX4WIN have a way of submitting LOTW QSO's like it does for
paper cards? I don't see one.
2. How can I be sure that cards I take with me don't have a QSL already
in LOTW (maybe not for that QSO, but for that country/band/mode?)
3. Has anyone done much with this mixed QSL confirmation yet?
4. Has Paul fixed the problem where a new country card submitted gets
automatically counted for both band and mode, not just for the mixed
award yet?

Anything I've forgotten that will bite me? Submitting QSL's and
reconciling the results are some of the most fun I have every year! Ha,
ha!

I have not done a "linked" submission yet - someone please advise Duane here.

Can you please explain more about this? DX4WIN will submit any
confirmation towards any band/mode that helps your DXCC totals
towards those particular band/mode awards. Are you saying DX4WIN
doesn't do this, or that you want DX4WIN to *not* do this?

So maybe it is better, in your case (instead of me because of cost for

Te best way for mixed submission (until Paul makes this more automated) is
this.

1)File>Preferences> QSO check Upload conf
2)File>Preferences>DXCC check Mixed, mode, band or something less if you
prefer
3)file and save changes and exit
4)Reports>dxcc>submission (all your electronic cards)
5)File>Preferences> QSO check Card or Upload conf
6)file and save changes and exit
7)Reports>dxcc>submission (all your cards)
8)F8(search) with cnfm=y and dxcc=subm
9)right click in logbook window(if you have not it... window>logbook) and
print

How it works, as I remember:
  - I submit a new country for "mixed" credit because I'm going after my
first DXCC credit for that country.
  - DX4WIN credits it for mixed ONLY. (or it has in the past)
However, once a card is submitted to ARRL for DXCC credit, the QSO,
date/time, band, mode are all recorded, and it is available for credit
for any award. It does not need to be resubmitted. So, the DX4WIN
submission for these (i.e., submission where there is no existing band or
mode submission already done) should be upcated to indicate it is now
submitted for those awards, even if you're not submitting for that
particular award at the same time and may do so in the future.
Otherwise, cards are being submitted (and charged for by the ARRL) for
band/modes already credited.

What I don't know is whether this has been corrected in DX4WIN or not.
Whether or not you ever plan to submit for a RTTY DXCC, if you've worked
P5 on RTTY only (like me - brag, brag), then I want it to credit both
RTTY, and the band as well as being for "mixed" credit. Makes sense to
me, anyway! (Without this fix, I must remember to go through all my
submissions and check to see if they are a new band/mode and manually
change DX4WIN submission for each otherwise my records and the ARRL
records will not match, and DX4WIN will later tell me I need to resubmit
the same P5 card for another endosement.) Sorry, I didn't lay that out
in very good order.

Te best way for mixed submission (until Paul makes this more automated) is
this.

1)File>Preferences> QSO check Upload conf
2)File>Preferences>DXCC check Mixed, mode, band or something less if you
prefer
3)file and save changes and exit
4)Reports>dxcc>submission (all your electronic cards)
5)File>Preferences> QSO check Card or Upload conf
6)file and save changes and exit
7)Reports>dxcc>submission (all your cards)
8)F8(search) with cnfm=y and dxcc=subm
9)right click in logbook window(if you have not it... window>logbook) and
print

Jim, you wrote:

2005-05-10 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I think I understand what you are saying:

- you only have DXCC Mixed checked in your DXCC award preferences

- you want DX4WIN to *also* mark the SUBMITTED boxes for the band/mode
of each QSL you will submit, even though your DXCC preferences do NOT
indicate a DXCC award for either that band and/or mode

I don't think of this as a bug, but a new feature request. You can
still go back and set the flags manually for those QSOs:

- expand your QSO window using F5
- Search (F8) for "DXCC Mixed = Subm"
- Change the DXCC flags for Band and/or Mode to "Subm"
- save the QSO and modify the next one

When you get your submission back from ARRL, you can change the
Submitted flags to Approved

Paul will have to see if it fits into his schedule.
