Re: [Dx4win] LoTW problem v 1.14.1
TQSL reports a successful upload once it is complete, so if you didn't see that message then there was some problem during the upload. You don't get a reply e-mail from LoTW when it accepts an automatically uploaded log (you will get an e-mail confirmation if you manually upload a tq8 by sending it to LoTW using email). If you tried the upload and it appears to have worked, you can verify the upload by logging in to the LoTW site and looking at your activity. You should see a file with lotw-upl and the date as being processed. As has already been mentioned, if you want to upload a log on your own, use Sign and Save, not Sign and Upload. 73, -Rick On Sun, Jun 2, 2013 at 10:22 PM, Dick White white...@sbcglobal.net wrote: First time to try LoTW TQSL v. 1.14.1 I have tried two times to up load a file to LoTW. Re: [Dx4win] LoTW problem v 1.14.1
I successfully uploaded a 2099-QSO file to LOTW yesterday using 1.14.1, so I know it works. After you answered yes to theIs that correct? prompt, you should have seen a progress message reporting the QSO-by-QSO signing and uploading of the ADIF file. The big difference from previous versions of TQSL is that signing and uploading can be combined into one background operation, so it appears that something in your computer setup is preventing the signing step from happening. You do not need to send an e-mail to upload the signed file any more, though you still can if you wish. 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the Reverse Beacon Network at http://reversebeacon.net, blog at reversebeacon.blogspot.com. Re: [Dx4win] LoTW problem v 1.14.1
In the HELP file it states that LoTW will accept a ADIF and CABRILLO file. I did not find any prompt about a tq8 file and figured it was not needed in v1.14.1. *READ* the help file again! From the first page of the Introduction: TQSL accepts QSOs in a log file whose format is either ADIF or Cabrillo, which many logging applications can export. That does not say LotW will accept an ADIF or CABRILLO file - it says that trusted QSL will *sign* an ADIF or CABRILLO file. Trusted QSL first *converts* any CABRILLO file to an ADIF and then signs the ADIF by attaching the certificate and station location data then performing a data integrity step (so that LotW can be sure the data is not tampered with in the future). Your ADIF is *not* uploaded directly - it must be processed by tQSL before LotW will accept it. Period, full stop, end of story. *READ what the documentation says*, not what you think is says. 73, ... Re: [Dx4win] LoTW problem v 1.14.1
First of all want to thank all of you who have sent me help information about my LoTW up load problem. I finally got the file up loaded and confirmed. I went through the process for a third time this morning and it worked. During the process there is a file that asks if you want to allow dupes. I checked my file and there were no dupes so I selected NO. This time I selected ALLOW DUPES and the file was up loaded and a window came up that said the file was received by LoTW and credit for the 14 calls I sent. I don't know why that made a difference, but it worked. I am sure there were no dups in the file, but LoTW thought there was. Thanks again for all the help. I just hope it works next time I up load. 73 DICK - KS0M Lord help me to be the person my dog thinks I am Richard C. (Dick) White Fulton, MO. 65251 U.S.A. Jim is as usual correct. You don't need to log in to the LoTW site to automatically upload logs to LoTW - the certificate provides all of the information needed to verify the upload. 73, -Rick On Mon, Jun 3, 2013 at 3:03 PM, Jim Reisert AD1C jjreis...@alum.mit.eduwrote: On Mon, Jun 3, 2013 at 11:48 AM, andyphewitt andyphew...@btopenworld.com wrote: Sorry - I thought you had to be logged in so that you could do an upload. Re: [Dx4win] LoTW problem v 1.14.1
Should not be an issue with dupes anymore. What I have seen people talk about is when there is a problem, it could think the file when resent is dupes. Just say send anyway and you are back in sync. Should not need it marked anymore and then will properly prevent you from sending a file twice by mistake. I checked my ADIF file and it has the calls to up load correct. The ADIF file is located in C:\LoTW as ks0m149.ADI. That is the file I selected for the TQSL to sign and upload. It did not do that. I tried to attach the file to email and LoTW cannot find the attachment in the ADIF format. I have tried twice this morning to up load the file with no success. If this version needs a tq8 file how do I make one ? My CERT is active and my profile info is correct. I am at a loss as to what to do next. When I updated my TQSL program I just started the new downloaded file and it removed the earlier version, kept all my certs, and was ready to go and it did work fine here. 73 Wayne WA1PMA On 6/2/2013 7:22 PM, Dick White wrote: First time to try LoTW TQSL v. 1.14.1 I have tried two times to up load a file to LoTW.
