All,

Has anyone seen the instructions for ordering the upgrade? Did I miss it?

[Dx4win] Re: Upgrade Problems

2004-05-23 Thread Noel Zeibari
Hi All,

Sorry guys for not responding sooner, but I am still struggling to pull
my self out of the whirlpool. Dave G3NKC, Wendell W5FL, Ron KA3BZS and
Jim AD1C, I have tried all your Suggestions to no avail. DX4W603 is in
demo mode so is DX4W503, I guess my ignorance screwed things up, I am so
dizzy switching save files around.

Jim, if only I can get back my Ver 503 out of demo mode, because I see
all my 18,643 qso's are in there with verified qsls sent and received, I
cannot add qso to it, because a menu pops up saying it's not registered.
My son did all the downloads and upgrades since Ver 407, 501, 502 and
503, he lives pretty far from me and busy with his family.

Here is the twist, if I open the BACKUP folder in 503 and click on the
DX4Win icon, the program starts with momentarily flashing the demo logo
and then my call sign is installed but with 8,348 fewer qso's and am
able to enter qso's normally.

All the old versions from 407 up to 503 reside in D:\ drive, and they
too flash the demo sign and then install my registered call sign.

I would appreciate all the help to get me out of this problem.
I can't even export from C:\program files\dx4win503 to D:\program files
  \dx4win503

<>

I've had several logging programs over the last few years. The last one was
Turbolog but as time went by it became more and more out of date. There were
constant promises of upgrade but they never happened so I moved on.

I moved on to DX4WIN. This suits me at present but I don't necessarily feel
any loyalty to it. When its time to move on that's it. Bye.

At present there are few irritations:

1. No start and finish times
2. No power box
Both are required to be recorded by the British licensing authorities.
3. I doesn't seem to integrate with a decent rtty program like mmtty.

Any new version is going to cost money and there are products out there that
don't cost anything. Logger for one.

What is likely to keep me loyal is the bloody hassle of converting my logs
and the learning curve of getting to know the new brand.

[Dx4win] RE Upgrade

2003-01-25 Thread Mel Martin (VE2DC)
You can log the power in the QSO Notes... In fact, if it's usually the
same... Put it in the same place you put the macro for logging the
frequency...

Logging start-stop seems to still be an issue... I wouldn't mind that
capability myself...

I would still like a separate boxes for Freq Power Op's name Maybe
ver 7...

Charges are nominal... Price you pay for ongoing support... I've looked
at them all, and still like DX4Win best... Though nothing's perfect...
For example, I like some of the features in another program that has
very nice support for up to 4 radios... But the demo blew up on me
twice... Maybe my fault... But I lost interest!

DX4Win is still missing some features I'd like to see, but it's stable,
has an easy to manipulate user interface, is very quick, updates award
tracking in real time and isn't missing anything critical...

[Dx4win] RE Upgrade

2003-01-25 Thread Larry Gandy
I do not think I will upgrade to soon as I did not see much in it that I =
can use here on the
islands. One new is the IOTA fill in which I do not want as like right =
now Bernard just actived
OC-256 and hopefully will go to the other new one which will be OC-257 =
so would have to change
it in the log and add a new number which I have never had a problem =
with...I have over 600 works
and counting. If guy need a contest program get one and just import log =
via adi.do not spoil
a good logging program with all this PSK31 and CW and RTTY.and I do =
all with out the internet
I have my share of plaque and certificates on the wall from RTTY, SSB, =
IOTA plus others...
