Re: [Dx4win] need help generating POTA listing worked report
Dmitry sorry for the late response but I am a bit heavy loaded with work the last time. I can not see this behaviour in my dx4win 9.09. For example I go to Reports. I select custom award and in the new window I select the award I want. For example I select RDA (by the way typing F2, dx4win sorts the awards in alphabetic order). Dx4win goes and examine my log and finds the QSOs I have marked as valid for RDA award and have put also the right award value. If you are waiting dx4win finds out what oblast, etc is every QSO, no, it does not make it. But if you have marked every qso you need it does it. I use also AD1C's software to import my contest logs in dx4win and it populates the fields with the right values from the contest log when I run Russian dx (rda values) or working all germany (doks), etc. Also you can search for the QSOs you want. For example I type F8 and write RDA in Custom Award field. I get as an answer all RDA qsos in my logbook window. I can get an excel file from here (right click- write in a file- it writes in a csv file which I can import to excel) 73 Kostas SV1DPI Στις 4/6/2023 15:43, ο/η UA3AGW Dmitry Zaslavsky via DX4WIN έγραψε: Hi Scott and the group! Re: [Dx4win] need help generating POTA listing worked report
Hi Dima, Thanks for the reply. I figured out my issue. I had a cutoff of 365 days configured in Setup|Personal so that was constraining what was generated by my POTA report. Any POTA contacts that were confirmed were not subject to that cutoff so those were being displayed OK, just not the ones older than 365 days and unconfirmed. 73, Scott K1OA On 2023-06-04 07:43, UA3AGW Dmitry Zaslavsky wrote: Hi Scott and the group! [Dx4win] need help again
here we go again... used dx4win latest version, mmtty, and microHam router all last week on rtty no problem win10 did an update Friday afternoon closed dx4win and opened writelog, mmtty, and router for the cqww wpx rtty test this week end... all went well. Got up this morning opened writelog and sent in my log... shut down and opened dx4win after selecting my preset in router as usual NOW... I can no longer send canned messages from mmtty keys up and sends steady carrier I see no changes in preferences or in mmtty or router. I can close dx4win and open writelog and all is normal. Just problem with dx4win and mmtty. I can hit F10 on keyboard hooked to router and send rtty that way but nothing from the dx4win program. What changed and where to look? Re: [Dx4win] Need help on Upload to LoTW
Dick, In DX4WIN you have to do this (filter or not) Set Y in the LoTW box below the Label (and left of the date field) for those QSOs, you want to upload Now press F8 and type Y in the LoTW box left to the date - press ENTER Go to LoTW in the menu at the top and choose "Clear LoTW upload date" Now you are ready to EXPORT an ADIF file to TQSL Go to LoTW in the menu at the top and choose "Export to LoTW" Safe the file and REMEMBER where you have put it. I put my file in the folder "download" and give it my call sign. Accept to "clear LoTW ..." in DX4WIN. Now your QSOs has a new LoTW upload date and LoTW mark is N (the field left to the LoTW date) In TQSL you choose the icon "Sign a log and upload ..." in the upper left corner. Find your file and choose it. Not choose your station data (if you have more than one) and sign the file with the call that belongs to the ADIF file. BTW you cannot upload too many QSOs to LoTW. You only have to exclude duplets (TQSL informs you if duplets are included) and upload the rest. 73 Joe, OZ0J https://english.oz0j.dk -Oprindelig meddelelse- Fra: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net På vegne af Richard White Sendt: 21. oktober 2019 17:45 Til: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Emne: [Dx4win] Need help on Upload to LoTW My 93 year old mind has forgotten how to upload to LoTW I can go to Filter in DX4WIN and set up the log range I want to upload to LoTW. [Dx4win] need help
I recently tried to make some changes and save them and I get the famous error message. I sent an original HELP request weeks ago. I go through what it required until it comes back that I do not have an email app associated with it. I Googled “how to associate an email program with an app” and did it and it still does not work. Of course, I may have screwed that up too. I cannot make changes and save the program. I save in two places, one in the hard drive under DX4WIN’s SAVE folder and to a thumb drive. That thumb drive is defined in the preferences as (k:/). In fact I changed thumb drives just in case with no positive results.. My program is 9.0.4.1176 I cannot use the program so what do I do? 73s Stephen sala K7AWB __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] Need help with rotor control
You have to do what you did or hit F11 for shortpath. There are other variations of a function Key for things like longpath, etc. It doesn't rotate just because you grabbed a spot. You can also program it to know which antennas are rotatable and which aren't. Also, you have to be in the qso window for things like F11 to work. May I suppose that you have a usb to serial com? Maybe you unplugged the usb cable and you plug it to a different usb port. This will give you a different com port. Do a right click to computer and select management. Again management or something similar (sorry my windows are in Greek) and see the com ports. See what com ports your computer has. If com 5 is not an option anymore, note what other ports you have and try these ports in dx4win. All these in case you have a usb to serial cable 73 Kostas, SV1DPI Στις 2/11/2013 20:08, ο/η Carter Craigie έγραψε: Hi All, My name is Carter Craigie, and my call is N3AO, and I live in Blacksburg, VA, with my wonderful wife Kay N3KN. Re: [Dx4win] need help
Hi Dick, In the Help file, section "Appendix B:Files", under the first paragraph "Save Directory", it discusses the automatic log backup file with the extension .~xl (for example, mine is n7cw.~xl). Try making a copy of that file, renaming it with the extension .dxl and loading it into DX4Win. It might have some of your missing QSOs. 73, Bud N7CW On Mon, May 13, 2013 at 9:31 AM, Dick White wrote: > I made the mistake of forgetting to back up my log file. Re: [Dx4win] Need help Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win
Larry i have also a mark v and dx4win. I don't know what exactly your interface is... I suppose that it is a homemade interface. For cat control you need to have pins 2,3 and 5 to a conputer's com (let's say com1) For cw and ptt you should use pin4 (dtr) for cw, pin 7 for ptt(rts) and pin 5 for gnd. So i suppose that you can use the same com. (by the way you can see help under "cw circuit diagram"). for cat control you need to setup the port for 4800,8,2 In mark v now... cw goes to cw, ptt goes to ptt and cat goes to cat control if ptt doesn't work probably you have not make it ok. But you can work ok if you activate vox. 73 Kostas sv1dpi - Original Message - From: "Larry Alkoff" To: "DX4win" Sent: Monday, May 07, 2012 8:20 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Need help Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win >I am having trouble setting up a Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win on a new > Windows 7 computer. [Dx4win] Need help Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win
I am having trouble setting up a Yaesu Mark 5 and DX4Win on a new Windows 7 computer. I had a discussion about this with Paul KK4HD this morning and he suggested this mailing list. Specifically: 1. On Preferences > radio, the radio port is computer com1 (settings of 8 bits parity 2) connected to the CAT rs-232 receptacle on the Yeasu. It frequently times out, usually when I am entering a qso. 2. On Preferences > cw, cw keying is set to dtr and ptt is set to rts on com1 (again). Is it correct to use com1 for both the radio port and cw keying and ptt? 3. For some reason the cw keyboard types the message being sent with the function key (example: cq cq) but there is no rf output. This forces me to send my call every time instead of simply pressing the F1 key to send N2LA - very cumberson. I also have a Rigblaster Plus but seem to have problems hooking it up. If you have any ideas on how to get this equipment working please let me know. If you want to talk about any ideas my cell phone is 512-301-7666. Socotra is due to wind up in 9 days so time is very short. Please help! Hi Eddie, There are lots of us out here that can probably help but ya need to give us a little more information :-) 1) Have you received (downloaded) a version of DX4WIN? 2) If so, have you installed it on your computer(s)? 3) What version of DX4WIN are you attempting to use? 4) Have you paid for the version you have and received (usually via email) a licence "key" file? For DX4WIN ver 8, it would be something like: W2DE_lic.dx4w8 Without this file, you can NOT save your log! 5) Have you put that file in the main DX4WIN directory (NOT the save directory) so it will be used by DX4WIN? 6) What program, if any, have you been logging with most recently? [Dx4win] NEED HELP TO RECOVERY LOST DATA
Stu, your log file probably wound up in a second drive or another directory by one means or another. I've had similar problems when upgrading to new drives, etc. I recommend that you do a search on your entire computer with the Windows "FIND" routine. Search for files with the name "*.DXL" and look for some text that you know was unique to the time after March 4, such as a call sign that you know you worked only in that time period. You'll find it. 73 es GL de Joe STU wrote: >Can anybody give me some help to recovery 2 months worth of lost QSO's? >I went to make a country up-date (KC6 to T8) and lost 2 months of QSO's. >I have no idea how one had any correlation with the other. >My log reverted back to March 2, 2004. >No idea why it even picked that date. >Is the information on my hard drive somewhere and if so how can I get to it? > >Any guidance would be most appreciated. > >Thanks, >73, STU W6TA >[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >___ >Dx4win mailing list >Dx4win@mailman.qth.net >http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win > > > >
[Dx4win] NEED HELP TO RECOVERY LOST DATA
Can anybody give me some help to recovery 2 months worth of lost QSO's? I went to make a country up-date (KC6 to T8) and lost 2 months of QSO's. I have no idea how one had any correlation with the other. My log reverted back to March 2, 2004. No idea why it even picked that date. Is the information on my hard drive somewhere and if so how can I get to it? Any guidance would be most appreciated. Thanks, 73, STU W6TA [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Cal, Perhaps the drive is okay and you can transfer it to another machine to pull off your data. 73 de Tom, K4NR - Original Message - From: "Cal Kutemeier" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "DX4WIN Group" Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2003 7:42 AM Subject: [Dx4win] Need help recoverig files - Dell laptop crash > How can I recover my DX4WIN data file? [Dx4win] Need help recoverig files - Dell laptop crash
My Dell laptop CPi-A 400 died this morning. These was an audible pop and then the nasty burnt electronics smell. It will not turn on, even after disconnecting and giving it a few minutes to rest and recover. How can I recover my DX4WIN data file? My last backup was about 3 weeks ago, so not a total waste, but I would like to recover the QSOs since then. Tnx N9KO
[Dx4win] Need Help with at DXCC Submission
Bian, There is most often a way to do these things, but not always that obvious. Assuming you have a number of QSOs marked as Checked for Mix, and also a number of QSOs marked as 'submit' for phone. You only want to show the new QSOs for submit that are not a duplicate for the previously checked QSOs. Before doing the following, make sure the log is saved! Start a search (F8) , select 'SSB" for the mode select 'Chkd' for the mixed award select 'Subm' for the mode award press Enter Report | Change award flags Select 'DXCC mode' for the award Select 'Submitted --> Checked' for the action Click on Change This will mark the phone QSOs as Checked, and running a new DXCC submission will now only show the 'new' QSOs Paul -- At 06:02 PM 4/7/03 -0700, Brian Spindor wrote: >Some time ago I submitted a mixed DXCC award. Unfortunately, it won't. Just get your latest DXCC record from the ARRL, look up each QSO you submitted and change the award flags at the bottom to "Mode: Chkd" (the Mixed award flag will already be marked). You may need to hit F5 a couple of times to see the award flags. Then your submitted data will be up to date. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.com PGP Fingerprint: D8E2 3D78 339F A7F1 8C13 1193 B5D1 4FB6 79D1 70DC

[Dx4win] Need help with DXSpot/packet problem
Running 5.03, and have been for some time. Everything has been fine until this morning when my system suffered an outage with DX4WIN up. When I powered the system up again, I got a warning message from DX4WIN saying: "Incompatible DXSPOT file ignored.". The result was that the spot window wouldn't open. So, I changed the packet interface from a com port to TCP/IP, and was able to connect to an Internet source and receive spots OK. However, when I changed back to a com port for the spot source, DX4WIN doesn't seem to be communicating with the TNC. Tried deleting and reinstalling the com port in Win XP and that went OK. Still no ability to communicate with DX4WIN through the port. Any ideas what to try next? K8AC Floyd Sense in Angier, NC
