Re: [Dx4win] Telnet problem
Could be any of several things. Have you tried a DIFFERENT DXCluster site? The one I used to go to got shut downand after a couple of weeks of the same symptoms, I merely tried a different Cluster and had no issues. In fact, from time to timemine isn't available nowand of course, I get that exact same error sequence/message. I just go to a different site and bingogood to go. The next day, I'll try my original site, and most of the time...it's back up. If you were a technical guy in networking (I'm a Network Engineer with over 20 years of experience), I'd tell you to ping the site you're trying to hit and see if it's alive. [Dx4win] Telnet problem
I have suddenly lost my connection to Telnet. When I open the program I get an error message giving me the option to start app anyway, restart, or cancel. If I start the program anyway the DX Cluster does not open as it had in the past, and if I hit "connect" I get an error message saying connection not available. It worked fine up until 1/19, but hasn't worked since then. I have not changed anything in the preferences, and have rechecked all settings which are unchanged. My internet connection is fine, and the connection from my rig is also otherwise fine. Has anyone had a similar problem? [Dx4win] Telnet problem
Thanks to each of the 8 who responded to my query. I got it working, but it will not refresh itself, requiring a complete restart to get the latest spots. Is that normal? If not, what can be done to get it to refresh itself? Thanks Tom N4TJ

Is that normal? If not, what can be done to get it to refresh itself? Maybe a problem with how your user record is configured at the server, or with the serve software. I know I am using DX4WIN with the default settings and telnetting to an ARCluster node, and have never seen a problem. 73, Pete N4ZR The World HF Contest Station Database was updated October 29. 2469 stations are listed -- 29 new and over 100 updated. [Dx4win] telnet problem?
Hi Jim, To see if telnet is working from your PC got to a command prompt. At the command prompt type telnet na2na.net (with out the quotes). This will let you know if telnet is working. This is my node here at the house. If that is working, create an entry in DX4Win for my node and then try to connect again. If that does work, you are all set. If not then we have a base line... let me know if that helps. I run DX4WIN 5.03 on a computer with operating system Windows Me. I have encountered a problem getting DX spots via telnet. I can set TCP/IP in the preferences and then select an address in the Internet Connections menu, but nothing happens. I do not get connected. I have talked with others using DX4WIN and confirmed that all my settings in DX4WIN are correct. The problem must be with compatability of my version of DX4WIN with the WIndows Me operating system. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how is it fixed? Please resond directly to me, as I am not a subscriber to the list.
