[e-gold-list] Re: Ultimate funding system

2001-02-06 Thread jpm

. I seriously doubt any ad
agency could come up with anything as good as "e-gold is to money
what email is to letters," for example. (Thanks JP!)
 JMR

What about coke is it! There are many slogans that work.

I certainly never wrote "coke is it", but, I did work on the
Coca-Cola account for a year or two!!

ISL's own slogan is ... "Interesting Software .. Reassuringly Expensive". :)

In the UK years ago the word PINTA was introduced,
'Drinka Pinta Milk Aday'. Pinta is now in the English Dictionary.
There is also Hoover for Vacuum Cleaner and Fridge for Icebox.
And so it goes on. I'm sure someone can think of more. All the result of
Advertising.
I guarantee if you have a budget of a million dollars and a top
flight ad agency, e-gold would be a household word befor the end of the
year.

Perhaps that would be a HUNDRED million, Mike! :)

It is not that advertising does not work. Like many things it is the amount
of
work and effort and even money you are prepared to put into it that counts.

But I like James's comment ..."e-gold is to money what email is to
letters." That is
the kind of thinking we need to come up with. Slogans that communicate to
the uninitiated. We need new blood. the more we can do to introduce new
blood into our
economy the bigger better and more stable it will become and that will
benefit all of us.

Kind regards,

Michael Moore

Depends on what *variety* of Sacagawea dollar coin, too. ;^)

Check out that e-gold discount for winning bids! Anyway, I
think the golden dollar coin may have been partially a result
of lobbying from vending machine interests, and they get a
bit of use in Miami ( other cities I'm sure) as subway token
substitutes, so the coin is not a *complete* failure.

[e-gold-list] Sparbuck Credit Card Warning

2001-02-06 Thread Not Public

Dear All

As this credit card has been promoted on this list, I thought I would pass
on the following warning:

Sparbuck Credit Card funded by e-gold.

I recently obtained a Sparbuck card, and all went very well, with good
customer service and quick response to emails etc. In the deal, I funded my
card via e-gold.

I have not had my card funded, and after 5 emails over 3 weeks, I can not
raise anybody at all from Sparbucks. I would not suggest that anybody send
anything to these guys as it seems that the "wheels have fallen off!" (I
originally funded/purchased the card in December 2000)

The web page still exists, but I can simply not get any answers to any
emails I send, where as prior experience was an answer within 6 hours.

It seems my funds have gone "west", and I will have to fund the card by
other means.

Cheers

GoldMoney is live at www.GoldMoney.com

Craig

Amazing, Craig!

Can you tell us a little about it here? Is it a 100% backed
currency, how is it related to e-gold, what are the advantages -- etc.

Thanks!

[e-gold-list] Re: GoldMoney is Open

2001-02-06 Thread GoldDirectory.com

Their fees are interesting. I like the 1/10th of 1% payment fee. Note, also,
the lost-passphrase fee:

*Payment fee 1/10th of 1% (0.1%) of payment amount; maximum amount of 1
GoldGram (1gg).
*Storage fee of 1% (0.5%) per annum; charged monthly and/or when the
balance of a Holding is changed by either making or receiving a payment.
*Lost Passphrase fee 100 mils minimum, 2gg maximum; the exact amount charged
depends on the amount of time spent by GoldMoney staff validating the
Holding owner.
*Zero-out Holding fee Less than 1 mil; when the balance of a Holding falls
below 1 mil, the remaining amount is debited from the Holding to bring the
balance to zero.

[e-gold-list] USD

2001-02-06 Thread Bob

I wouldn't expect the USD to top out anytime soon. Therefore,
nor gold to bottom anytime soon (since it's mostly priced in
USD, among other reasons).

Or the Yen to bottom anytime soon.

Capital is still flowing nicely (it appears to me) into the US
because of the trade deficit and the current account deficit.
Not to mention the loan to the US in the amount of all that
US fiat currency used daily in a large number of parts of the
world (a loan that hasn't been called yet). On top of those
items is the fact that the advance/decline line on the NYSE
has now been moving up for the first time in a couple of years,
since the third week in December.

The Piper just hasn't been paid yet. He's gonna get paid,
though, in full. He always does. Not to worry. :)

Evidence why capital is still flowing to the US:

From IBD, February 1:

"Problem loans at Japan banks still stuck at high levels: agency"

"Japanese banks held $273.8 billion in problem loans at the end
of September, says Japan's Financial Services Agency. FSA's chief
said he's worried that two years after the government spent
$68.9 billion to clean up banks' balance sheets, the number of
sour loans has barely changed. Tokyo's slumping stock prices
have revived talk that some of Japan's debt-laden banks coud
be in trouble."

From IBD, February 6:

"Asia's recovery not yet complete"

So says New York Federal Reserve President William McDonough.
While the region has come a long way from it's 1997-98 crises,
he said, "The recovery is not yet complete, and much remains
to be done." ... " Some regional financial sectors are still
fragile, with plenty of bad debt to worry about. And many
companies are still weighted down by piles of debt."

When the USD does top, it should be quite the kicker for the
'AUG Economy Infrastructure Portfolio' over at:

Most certainly... but a payment fee of $8.43 on a payment of
$8,430 may not be excessive when you consider current exchange
rates and services charges to acquire such a quantity of e-gold in
the first place.

Well again all depends how they acquire their e-gold. Also consider
that the lower storage fee. I think that current fees structure of both
e-gold and GoldMoney have something to offer to there users. All
will really depend on what you do with the gold currencies.
Investors who want to accumulate gold currencies will prefer
GoldMoney while heavy spenders who average $500 per spend
will prefer e-gold.

I will certainly own both!

Craig,

There are many of us who are GREATLY appreciative of the fact that you do
read User Agreements. Your insight is well respected and I, for one,
usually gain something from the facts you point out in these lengthy, jargon
filled, CYA, we-have-you-by-the-short-hair agreements that are so prevelant

that is a fairly high payment fee isn't it? that's higher than
e-gold right -- can anyone do an anlysis?

Am I the only one who reads the User Agreement? :)

The break-even point is at $500. With a $500 payment, both sides charge 50
cents. Above $500, E-Gold charges a lesser rate because they cap their fee
at 50 cents. Below $500, GoldMoney charges a lesser fee because they charge
1/10th of 1 percent per transaction.
