[e-gold-list] GoldAge - market maker???

2001-03-14 Thread Laura C. Houck

I have submitted an order for e-gold at GoldAge with EZCMoney.

After that, they requested the amount of $620.00 in EZCMoney and I
accepted it.

2 days passed away and I still have no e-gold in my account!
GoldAge seems to be the slowest market maker in this industry and I have a
problem with them too. I e-mailed them and haven't got reply (only the
autoresponder answered me that they need at least 3 days to reply(!).
I have used another market makers, they reply within 24 hours and some of
them are so fast!

The only question: is GoldAge going to fulfill my order?

EZC/GoldAge Ref#: 2998E0310

Can someone recommend me another market maker which accepts e-gold?

Thanks.

Trading Desk Diary: What Yesterday Was Really About

Trading Desk Diary: What Yesterday Was Really About
In the face of a deflation, the Fed's usual tools won't work anymore. A
rate cut is coming, but nobody cares, and stocks continue to plummet.
By Donald L. Luskin - MetaMarkets.com
You can make the Nasdaq into a scapegoat if it makes you feel better. But
the reality is that what we've got on our hands is a good old fashioned
stock-market crash.

I know ... it was set in motion Thursday after the bell when Intel warned.
And Cisco helped it along with its own warnings on Friday. But the decline
is too widespread to make tech the whipping boy this time. When the
Wilshire Total Market Index - a cap-weighted index of every stock in
America - collapses to new lows like it did yesterday, you need to look for
something bigger than the little smoking gun in Intel's hands. You need to
look for a smoking cannon. And I know what it is. It's the thing that I've
been writing about for the past couple of weeks: deflation.

As I've explained in previous commentaries, deflation is the opposite of
inflation. In a deflation, commodity prices, consumer prices and asset
prices get sucked into a downward spiral that triggers cascading
bankruptcies and unemployment. The only safe haven is cash or government
bonds. Equities are radioactive. Deflation is the result of monetary error
by the central bank - in our case, the Federal Reserve - of printing too
little money to meet the liquidity demands of the economy.

Investors may not attach the word "deflation" to the fear that's making
them dump stocks - though the most sophisticated ones certainly do. But a
general sense of dread is beginning to take hold, a primal instinct that
something is terribly wrong at a systemic level, and that we're not doing
the right things to diagnose it or fix it.

The fear crystallized yesterday with the realization - conscious or
unconscious - that Alan Greenspan is going to lower rates, and it won't
help.

The focal point of the fear was an op-ed piece in yesterday's Wall Street
Journal by Wayne Angell, chief economist at Bear Stearns, a former Federal
Reserve governor, and a well-known Friend of Alan. Two weeks ago, you'll
recall, Angell ignited a broad market rally by boldly forecasting that
Greenspan would lower interest rates ahead of the next scheduled Federal
Open Market Committee meeting on March 20. Greenspan dashed those hopes in
congressional testimony the following week.

Angell's op-ed reads to the uninitiated just like a run-of-the-mill plea
for Greenspan to lower rates, citing all the usual arguments about the
slowing economy, lack of inflationary pressures, stock market collapse and
so on. I've written two dozen of those myself. But for those who can read
between the lines - and those are the people who can set a market crash in
motion - Angell's op-ed is different.

First, Angell asserts that Greenspan may have to lower rates dramatically
further than anyone else has dared to suggest. He writes, "surely if the
economy continues to sag toward recession, a drastic reduction of the real
federal funds rate - to a range between zero and 2 percent - may be
needed." He's talking about the real fed funds rate, which means the amount
by which the Fed's target rate is above the rate of inflation. But
elsewhere he suggests that the rate of inflation is no more than about 1.6
percent. So when he's talking about a real funds rate of zero, he's talking
about a target rate of 1.6 percent or less. A number like that is so far
off everybody's radar that when an eminence gris like Angell puts it out
there, it really gets your attention. Scary stuff.

Second, Angell attacks the fundamental basis of decision-making that leads
to the Fed's rate policies. Angell throws aside the myriad of ever-changing
rationales we've heard from Greenspan and the FOMC for the last several
years, all what Angell calls "activism," aimed at stabilizing consumer
sentiment, aggregate demand, and the level of the stock market. Instead,
Angell argues that "short-run monetary activism was producing growth rate
swings of increasing amplitude. Why not then discard short-run
stabilization activism in favor of the Fed adopting a strategy aimed at
price level stability?"

Nothing revolutionary in that suggestion - or so it seems. The Fed focus on
price level stability - isn't that what they're supposed to be doing
anyway? Yes, but here's where it gets really interesting.

Third, Angell argues that if price level stability really were the Fed's
focus, then job one is to stop the deflation. As Angell puts it, "The Fed
should recognize and act on the deflation indicators all around us -
falling core commodity prices confirmed by a continued fall in the price of
gold. The dollar seems to be appreciating against everything. That means
the

[e-gold-list] Gold Lease Rates? Simple Question

2001-03-14 Thread Khurram Khan

Hello...

Claude Cormier Wrote on the GoldEconomy website:

gold lease rates (interest rates) are usually very low, most often between 0.5% and
1%. The fact that such low rates are possible should convinced you that gold is the
most stable money available.

Does that mean that the Yen is almost as stable as gold?

Of course not.

The Japanese rates are not those of a free market. They have been
forced down by political decisions. They should be and will

Good one ...
http://www.standardreserve.com/policies/useragreement.asp

So it's basically section 3.1

3.1. Reserve Requirement

3.1.1. All electronic dollars in circulation shall be backed by a
Primary Liquidity Reserve and Secondary Earning Reserve. Allocation
between reserves shall be at the sole discretion of the Dollar Issuer
in keeping with established prudential policy. Issuer shall keep
available sufficient assets to satisfy usual demand for redemption by
Distributor. Standard Dollars are payable to User, USD for SR-USD,
via some electronic method of payment.

3.1.2. All electronic gold in circulation shall be backed by a
Primary Liquidity Reserve and Secondary Earning Reserve. Allocation
between reserves shall be at the sole discretion of the Gold Issuer
in keeping with established prudential policy. Issuer shall keep
available sufficient assets to satisfy usual demand for redemption by
Distributor. Standard Dollars are payable to User, gram for gram, of
electronic gold for Standard Gold.

3.1.2. Issuers will make every effort, but cannot guarantee, to
always have sufficient liquid assets to back redemptions.

Do you ever plan on revealing the current reserve levels (a la say
MetalSavings)?

(I don't think you necessarily SHOULD do that [I probably wouldn't!
:) ], I'm just curious as to the policy.)

Thanks!

James Turk applied for his patents in 1993. E-gold began operation in 1996,
so e-gold cannot claim prior art.

I've read the patents and am unconvinced that there was any unique
invention. He simply put together accounting, a computer, a network, and
gold as the medium being accounted. But apparently the patent office
thought it was unique enough to grant two patents. The patent is only
valid inside the United States and any countries that have an agreement with
the U.S. to honor U.S. patents.

The patent could probably be overturned if challenged; but for now it does
serve the useful purpose of preventing one of the giants like
Chase-Manhattan or Citybank from patenting the idea and then shutting down
e-gold with lawsuits.

Hello,

It wasn't relevant to me then, so I didn't pay much attention.

So, I need the expertise that y'all have.

Are they secure?Legitimate?
And any ideas about this Cash Cards thing.
I do not know if I want to follow up on this, or not.

So, your thoughts will be appreciated.

[e-gold-list] RE: Standard Reserve Gold - question

2001-03-14 Thread jpm

Some time ago I signed up for Cash Cards Int, which is backed by
Standard Reserve Gold.

This is not quite correct, the cash card is backed by Standard
Reserve's WORD. Even the standard reserve currency is not backed by
gold. It is partially backed by e-gold which is backed by gold. Note
that Standard reserve dollars SR-USD are backed by ?

OR RATHER,
Standard Reserve backs Standard Gold by E-Gold 100%.

I find that rather confusing, Dr. J!

Do you mean "ONLY" e-gold is used (100% e-gold!), or, do you mean the
reserve fraction is 1.0?

Thus:

For each kilogram of SR-AUG that I have, how much e-gold does SR keep
on hand to cover my ownership of that 1kg of SR-AUG?

If it is truly 1., it's exceedingly strange that you don't
trumpet that on the web site ... what don't I understand???

JP!

Trustees have been elected and are to provide management of the Trust

As soon as the Trust has been completed and your money managed by the

Should Standard Reserve ever decide to back Standard Gold with anything

is backed in any other way.

The Virtual Card for You is a hoax that should be ignored.
The following is the text that may be received as an email message:
Virus Alert VIRUS WARNING To ALL INTERNET USERS: blah Blah Blah

This came from an internal memo in the Telstra Corporation from the Systems
group so is not garbage spam,

They do not send out this warning to their internal managers for the fun of
it.

I extracted it and have sent it on for your benefit.

Don't say I did not warn you.

 Hi Michael,

You should check your facts before spreading this kind of garbage spam
around. It is fairly easy to do and helps to keep the Internet a nicer
 place.

 Just go here:

 http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/virtual.card.for.you.html

ALWAYS check before you forward e-mail... remember it's illegal :-)

 Sidd.

I'm new in the e-gold system. What market maker do you recommend?

Did anyone of you try the Heap of Gold market maker (www.heapofgold.com)?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

It most certainly is, Telstra sent garbage spam to all their managers
who sent it to you :) ... unless you believe that the Symantec
Antivirus Research Centre don't know what they're talking about!

[e-gold-list] Parker Bradley raided by the feds?

2001-03-14 Thread Steve Foerster

I just heard that Parker Bradley's home was raided by a platoon of U.S.
federal agents, that all of his belongings were bagged and removed as
"evidence", and that during his subsequent interrogation they tried to
lead him to implicate e-gold itself as involved in credit card fraud.

But I didn't hear it from Parker. Has anyone heard from him recently? Is
he okay?

[e-gold-list] The new $1 million man

2001-03-14 Thread George Matyjewicz

Hi All:

Meet Steve Renner, the new $1 million man. Steve is Standard
Reserve's newest agent, and, with his first deal, he brought in
350 ATM cards and a $1.2 million inexchange. And he's not even
open for business yet!

Steve is the main principal at Cash Cards International, and
their site will be open for business officially on March 15. He
has put together one of the best sales management teams and one
of the largest sales forces in the world. All professionals, and
all well-focused on one thing - to bring in new business for
Standard Reserve. I personally talked with his top management
team, and was very impressed. Actually, it wasn't a talk - they
interviewed me to be sure Standard reserve could carry out the mission.

They are accepting e-Gold to join the program, and, as always,
you can exchange e-Gold for Standard Reserve currencies for free.

We are expecting some great things from Steve and his team. And
they are taking on new distributors and sales folks. Visit their
site at http://www.cashcards.net and see what they are offering,
and signup for their program. And yes, that is my picture on the
"About Us" page.

Our thanks to Steve and his group for believing in Standard
Reserve and their dedicated commitment to helping the gold economy succeed.

BTW, if you have any questions on why to signup with Steve vs
registering with Standard Reserve don't be afraid to ask
Steve. We have an exclusive contract with Cash Cards
International for network marketing programs.

George
