Hi, I am back on line after my pc went for a ball of ... then I had the pleasure of finding out that PayPal placed a limit access on my personal and business account, so this leave me with a red face explaining to ebay auction users why I can no longer pay them. Anyway, is there anyone that can pay a winning aution for me via PayPal in exchange for e-gold - it's about $1.99 for the one and the other should be $ 3.99 - I am still waiting for the invoice from the sellers. Yes, but a fine community overall, and good things are happening. Take a look at: http://www.e-gold.com/stats.html (I have no idea why it's cranking, but I'll happily take credit for it!) I recommend you add graphing of those data over time. That would be great -- it's good business sense. I remember stats in the old days. It was very sad to look at it for a long time...We'd bet on games of chess to get it into two digits! Good one - the early days. There's so much to remember isn't there? [e-gold-list] Accessing E-Gold using WAP
Just wanted to know whether you gentlemen are aware of any security issues when accessing E-Gold using the WAP phone. If there isn't any,then I think this is the best method to keep an eye on your e-gold account. What I can't understand is, why e-gold hasn't provide any method to check the balance using a preffered currency, in their Balance page. I hope some person with authority should see to this. It' should be very helpful for the folks who uses WAP. Also Graham, what is the current status of your debit card program? I can't see any updates on your site. I think I'm gonna need one in near future, since Steve's generously offered free card hasn't so far arrived at my place yet. You are sharing your passphrase with a large? telephone company, with an unknown number of tech(s) who COULD, IN THEORY, perform "man in the middle" attacks on any and all e-gold transactions(!). AFAIK, this has never happened, but your info (SSLed to the phone company) is decrypted before RE-SSLing to e-gold's site through an interface owned by the phone company. In the decryption, there is unknown risk IMO. My guess is that rates for phones would be a PITA for the programmers which would exceed its utility, though I agree it would be a nice thing to have. As far as I am aware, you can do various e-gold things like get a balance, make a spend if you are using an HDML device. Since WAP does not have inherent security (you need to go through a gateway to get SSL) sometimes it will work... and sometimes it will not.
