Using keyservers for signature verification wouldn't provide any

too. The only cryptographic information you should ever fully trust
is information traceable to trusted out-of-band channels.

So, there are a lot of opportunities to exchange key fingerprint:
seminars, meetings, gooddies, phone calls.

Print your PGP key fingerprint on the back of your business card.
Establish a web of trust with your fellow exchange agents.

Maybe an agenda item for the next eCTA meeting?

Folks, I know the emotions are high these days, but if we could
leave off the profanities I won't be forced to moderate. Thanks
in advance for expressing yourselves strongly-but-civilly. Also,
I hope that few-not-many messages to this list will become the
last-not-first resort, when people have issues with exchange
services. Thanks to all for your cooperation in remembering
 this is a family list.
 JMR -- wearing my moderator-hat.

Jim, you should kick that guy off of the list for impersonating Graham
Kelly. That's illegal behavior.

Two things,

1) It doesn't take a genius to see that the two messages from Graham weren't
actually from him. I wonder if it wouldn't have been appropriate to catch
the messages and delete them before a war starts.
2) The messages were HTML email. Am I the only one who would prefer not to
have to worry about potentially hostile emails popping up in my e-gold list
folder?

That said, I wouldn't want the moderator job. It's all yours JMR!

Yes. Lyris has a security-hole. Let's just say it's a good thing they
don't do currencies for now. I do reserve the right to describe it
later in public if I remain annoyed at them (which seems likely...)
for not fixing/admitting it, but our programmers may fix it, which
will probably make me not care about Lyris security anymore.

2) The messages were HTML email. Am I the only one who would prefer not to

No, and (as if anyone reads 'em) it's also against the list's
rules to send html email (or excessively quote email) as it is
rude to the subscribers who choose to read the digest. I hope
that folks will learn to be as careful as they can when sending
email to lists, it's different from person-to-person email in a
number of important ways.

That said, I wouldn't want the moderator job. It's all yours JMR!

Thanks. It's not the most joyful job I have, but I wish I did a
better job at it. This is a very smart group, and I don't intend
to let a small number of jerks drive the fun people off on my
watch. Now, let's talk about MONEY!!!

PGP signing your emails would offer a solution. Consider all unsigned or
fake emails as void.

Right, the villian could do that, though

Now, can any associates of Graham's give a consensus of his real
