Chairperson, Department of Environmental Science The School of Earth & Environment at Rowan University is seeking to fill an Associate/Full Professor (Tenured) position in the forming Department of Environmental Science. We are seeking agents of change, and a willingness to work with governments, NGOs, and industry to solve real-world problems is desired. The successful candidate will have an established record of external funding, a strong publication history, must be a recognized authority in his or her field, and must possess a demonstrated commitment to public outreach. The successful candidate will assume the role of Chair of the Department, pending faculty vote in accordance with university and union policy. Position: Instructor/Assistant Professor, GIS - 3/4-Time Temporary Department: Geography, Planning, and Sustainability Description: The Department of Geography, Planning and Sustainability in the School of Earth and Environment at Rowan University invites applications for a ¾ time temporary position for academic year 2017-2018. The successful candidate will teach a total of 12 credits over two semesters. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will provide technical support to the department's GIS teaching and research initiatives, and make contributions to the function of the department that may include, but are not limited to, advising student research, developing program assessment materials, analyzing assessment data, and providing career and graduate school information to undergraduates. The Department is seeking a faculty member to teach introductory and upper- level geospatial courses, possibly including GIS, Remote Sensing, Spatial Database, and Web GIS electives related to their expertise. We seek candidates who have demonstrated effective teaching and have experience with spatial data management and technology, who can contribute in meaningful ways to the department.
