Assistant/Associate Professor, GIScience with Environmental Focus -

Description:
The newly forming Rowan University Department of Geography and the
Environment invites applications for a tenure track position in GIScience
with Environmental Focus to begin September 1, 2012. We are seeking a
candidate with evidence of excellence in research and prominence in the
field of GIS in order to help the department launch a new BS degree in
GIScience. As such the position is offered at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level contingent on previous experience, evidence of prominent
research such as funded grants, or post-doctoral experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and advanced
courses in GIS focusing on issues of environmental management, planning and
sustainability. Development of advanced courses in the candidate's area of
expertise is also welcome.

The successful candidate will also be expected to develop an active research
program involving undergraduates that will have imminent potential for
external funding. The successful candidate will join the faculty of the new
Department of Geography and the Environment created in 2011 by the
integration of the interdisciplinary Environmental Studies Program with the
Department of Geography. Opportunities exist to collaborate with faculty
from within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and across the university.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline required.

The Department of Geography, Planning, and Sustainability at Rowan

undergraduate education and student mentoring as full-time Lecturers to 
begin Fall 2018. The positions will be offered as renewable, multiyear 
10-month contracts, with benefits. The appointments are non-tenure track 
but do offer the opportunity for promotion to Senior Lecturer and Master 
Lecturer. Lecturers will teach 24 credit hours over two semesters with

Scholars hired in the School of Earth & Environment will have superior

Description:
The Department of Geography, Planning and Sustainability in the School 
of Earth and Environment at Rowan University invites applications for a 
¾ time temporary position for academic year 2017-2018.  The successful 
candidate will teach a total of 12 credits over two semesters.  In 
addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will 
provide technical support to the department's GIS teaching and research 
initiatives, and make contributions to the function of the department 
that may include, but are not limited to, advising student research, 
developing program assessment materials, analyzing assessment data, and 
providing career and graduate school information to undergraduates. The 
Department is seeking a faculty member to teach introductory and upper-
level geospatial courses, possibly including GIS, Remote Sensing,
