Re: [ECOLOG-L] mac/endnote
I recently (less than 1 year) switched from EndNote to Bookends, and I am very pleased with this program. I got sick of the $99 upgrade that is always levied with EndNote users with each new iteration of MS Word. For Bookends, it's ready to go with Word 2011, there is a pretty large support community, and the developer is really on the ball and responsive to questions and suggestions. There are some nice features for organizing and maintaining reference libraries across different Macs as well as a simple webserver interface if you want to start sharing references. You can download an evaluation copy and give it a try: http://www.sonnysoftware.com/ Best, Mark Warner

Hi Hilit, I have recently started using zotero, it's free and seems to work really well. I can recommend it. You can even import your current endnote library if you have one. Hilit, You don't have to be a whiz to use LaTeX, especially not now with LyX: www.lyx.org One of its greatest advantages for me is the reference handling (combined with JabRef). Give 'em a try, and save yourself a pile of $ in the process. - Dave Hewitt From: Hilit Finkler Subject: mac/endnote Hello, I have just purchased a new Macbook Pro. If you're starting from scratch, you may consider www.mendeley.com (does still have problems importing pdf's linked into Endnote - as of 2010-11-26) Regards Martin Dr. Martin K. This is from the ThomsonReuters Web site: Re: X4 & Word 2011, Mac 08-12-2010 10:33 AM EndNote X4 for Mac will be compatible with MS Word 2008. We are also planning to release an X4 update with Word 2011 compatibility later in the year. - Mathilda, the EndNote team On 11/24/2010 8:26 PM, Hilit Finkler wrote: Hello, I have just purchased a new Macbook Pro.
