try to uninstall it today and install version without 'd' in the name.

I think both versions open a terminal. For the moment, nothing can be done.

[Ekiga-list] Logon Problem

2009-01-02 Thread Brian

Damien,
I have recently got a working version of 3.0.1 on my suse11.1, the
previous one did not give me the option to select a V4L2 camera.
As an aside I think this new version is a lot more robust.

I am now at the point where I try to login.
NOTE: I have used gconf-editor to change my listen port to 5065.
This is because I am using ekiga as the softphone while my ATA is
still connected(using 5060) to another account.

Below is an extract from the log showing the ip/ports coming back
correctly but I get a 404. I am pretty sure this is because my account
is not set up properly at my provider.
Can you confirm or can a 404 mean something else?
Note also that I have temporarily removed my ekiga account so I am not
using a stun server.

Thanks,
 Brian

Damien,
Please disregard this query.
FYI, On checking through the debug output I saw that it was still going
out to the ekiga stun server.
I used gconf-editor to remove the stun server, and have just made my
first call:)).

Thanks for a great product, and you, Eugen and Fabrice for your support
with this.

Brian.

Precisely:)

What was the solution to the compilation problem ?
Unfortunately, there is no solution.
I am happy to pursue it further offline if you like.
However, I am not sure if it is worth the effort.
The problem was/is that I run kde.
As such I have almost no gnome stuff installed by default.
When I do install gnome stuff it gets put into /usr/lib not
opt/gnome/lib where your software goes looking for it.
I forgot to ask Fabrice when he said that he managed to compile, if he
was using/had installed, the gnome desktop.

In addition I think I was picking up some older libs( I did an upgrade
from 10.3-11.1) as the compile wanted to use resmgr which no longer
exists on 11.1.

Again many thanks,
Brian

[Ekiga-list] PDU Write failed: Invalid argument

2009-01-02 Thread Middlecope

When starting Ekiga 2.0.12 on the KDE 4 desktop on a SUSE 11.0 machine
I get an error registration failed.
On the CL ekiga -d 4 I get a lot of output.
It looks quite okay but then I read PDU Write failed: Invalid argument
My NetGear router has the STUN and SIP ports open and redirect it to my
computer.
Firewall ON or OFF on my machine doesn't make any difference.
A search on the error gave me a discussion from 2005 that was not helpfull
Any suggestion how further to debug?
Thanks Teunis

Indeed, I am a plain full gnome user.

In addition I think I was picking up some older libs( I did an upgrade
from 10.3-11.1) as the compile wanted to use resmgr which no longer
 exists on 11.1.

To be honest, I am not fully sure now that I upgraded from 10.X to 11.1
version on this workstation. I can affirm that I use OpenSUSE at work
since 10.X versions, but as my workstation was physically replaced not so
long ago , I perhaps have installed this one directly with some 11.0beta
and not upgraded it from 10.X.
I think I remember that indeed previously gnome stuff was mainly installed
in /opt/gnome/ subdir, but it seems now that everything is installed in
/usr and consorts. That's perhaps why upgrading from 10.X leads to some
false search pathes when building ekiga.

 Again many thanks,
 Brian

You're welcome, and I am happy to hear you finally got Ekiga working.

Happy new year to everybody.

Yes, in desperation I downloaded it again and did a reinstall and this
time it worked.

Palo,

... while Skype was idly running (not in call),
Ekiga was not able to produce any sound when I
was trying to make a call with it.

I've tried 4 calls with Ekiga while the
Skype daemon was in the background. Three of
the calls were fine. Yesterday afternoon in
one of the trials the system froze so solid
it needed to be power cycled; there is no
good evidence that Skype or Ekiga is at fault.

This is Debian Lenny with Ekiga 2.0.12 and
Skype 2.0.0.72.

A machine at work has Ekiga 3; this one
will be upgraded soon.

Re: [Ekiga-list] Re (2): Re (2): Re (2): Audio-Problems

2009-01-02 Thread Palo S .

Hi Peter,

unfortunately I can\'t remember the versions of Ekiga
and Skype that caused this problem for me. It could
have been even beta versions of Ekiga/Skype that I
used for some time too. I can only say that my current
setup (Ekiga 3.0.1 from source, skype-2.0.0.72-fc5
rpm package on Fedora 8) does not suffer by this.
