Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net cancellation
Prompted by some of the comments about contests and complaints under this topic, I second this sentiment with a vengeance. As I have written to the reflector before, I think these do not go very far toward justifying the spectrum space that we have been given by the public, and they mean that I simply have to shut down my HF operations when there is a big contest weekend. (Fortunately, the VHF/UHF contests are more neighborly.) LOTW requires no signal report for validation, although it accepts one. eQSL requires no signal report for validation, although it accepts one. In both cases the required data is: Call, UTC Date/Time, Mode and TX Band. Both also accept other data for awards such county hunting, WAS, WAC, WAZ etc. Both are less expensive than QSL cards, envelopes and postage. As far as contests are concerned, I believe they are out of control, but that's MY opinion. [Elecraft] Thank You Elecraft
Thanks to Elecraft for providing 50 to 60 hours of great fun and entertainment with some trepidation while building my new K2 transceiver. Everything went well in the first phase of the build, only to be challenged with a few issues in phase II. After about 5 hours of troubleshooting with the help of Don Wilhem, I got the receiver functioning. Phase III was completed today without issue and the transmitter worked as advertised from the moment I turned the transceiver back on. All that was left was to align and calibrate and a few hours later, the basic transceiver was complete. Thanks also goes out Mychael Morohovich, the Tyroidguy for the pre-assembled toroids. I think that buying pre-built toroids really made the whole process a lot easier. So now I'm off to build the options and get them into the radio. What Great Fun and what a great radio. [Elecraft] The Old RST
Of course, RST readings started "by ear" but one of the first ways to "automate" the strength report was used by an early National SW-3 regen from the late 20's or early 30's. It had a volume control calibrated in "S" units. You adjusted it for comfortable listening and looked at the knob for the signal strength, Hi! I have always preferred what the commercial CW operators used, the QSA report. QSA1 for audible but unreadable to QSA5 for perfect copy. The QSA report considered both the strength and the 'copyability' of the signal. A huge signal but a lousy "fist" might merit a QSA2. A much weaker signal but in the clear with a good fist might deserve a QSA5. There was no reference to the "T" for tone. That came in with the push for d-c voltage on the plates of tubes in the early 20's. It was common for many hams to run A-C right from a transformer (or the mains) on the plates of their tubes, producing a very harsh modulated CW signal. But, since many Hams were still running spark, it wasn't considered a spectrum hog. As time went by and spark was phased out, there was big push for a clear "dc tone" from Hams as indicated by T-9 in the RST scale. It was unimportant for most commercial use because ships commonly used modulated CW. Indeed, modulated CW was *required* on the distress frequencies. It's been nearly a century since the T report had any meaning, yet we Hams still use it. It's 'tradition' :) Ron AC7AC -Original Message- And speaking of how ham radio must be changing over the years, what the heck did people do about signal reports before they had S meets to read? Bear in mind that this question is mostly rhetorical. I don't bother with S meter readings myself, but I do try to give honest signal reports anyway. BTW, you'll note that many if not most contests don't use signal reports as part of the exchange anymore precisely because of the "599 problem". [Elecraft] W1 analog face (software)
Here is a dual-meter fwd, refl, swr meter face I made for the W1: http://udel.edu/~mm/ham/elecraft/swrMeter-hiSwr.png The black is forward power, blue reflected, and the cross point shows an swr of around 4.5. (K1 untuned into a random wire.) The challenge that prompted me to make this was to learn how to make the SWR lines where the needles overlap. When the window is resized the meter is recalculated and redrawn. The unlabeled SWR lines from right to left are 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 2, 3, 5 to 1. Since the W2 has now displaced the W1 - except for those of us who don't have one! - I wonder if anyone is interested in this program? If so, I'll spend a few more weeks of occasional evening effort to clean it up. If not, I've learned what I wanted & as a side effect have a rough-around-the-edges tool that I'll leave as is. :-) 73, Mike ab3ap __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] Ultra flexible Multi-Conductor Shielded cable source?
Hi, I used cable from Heil to make up a lead for my Heil GM2 hand mike. The cable is nice and floppy. http://www.heilsound.com/amateur/products/heilwire/ I bought a 10' length from the shop that I bought the mic from. The PTT pair is outside the screening for the mic pair to try and keep digital noise away from the analogue signal. It works nicely on my K3. The price is roughly US$1/ft. The 'Stealth Connector' from Heil works nicely with the K3 and I used that along with a 4pin XLR cable jack to make my own mic lead. http://www.heilsound.com/amateur/products/8pin/ I don't have shares in Heil, but I do like their mics, headsets, cables and plugs. Having used rx that didn't have S-meters, and those that do... then I find a great rx that makes all the "calibration" of my "internal" S meter rather an interesting conflict to watch, when using a fine tuned K2, with either analog or dsp filtering.. I find the "internal" S meter goes from 229 to 599 in .002 microseconds. I've found that with the K2, the ramp between not reading and reading a signal, (on cw) is a short trip, and one traversed quickly. QSB, and very occasionally qrm/qrn will make the transition closer to what the "internal" S meter expects. As far as contest 599 reports... it is more what the other op is expecting. That, and a QSL still requires a S meter reading.. what ever value you need.. but for those that have started using the new, and very much improved rx on the market today SPECIFICALLY the Elecraft line, if you can hear the other station.. he's already 5nn, or you wouldn't be answering his call. It isn't the operator that has lead us into this. .. it is the excellant quality of rx.. and I, for one, am plumb tickled with these advancements. Contest, rag chew, nets.. they all drive the advancement of the circuits, in their own way, and it works great!! Thank you Elecraft! How else would I be able to log 53 countries in 6.5 hours??? I bought a 100-ft roll of S-Video cable from www.allelectronics.com, part number CB-285. Price is $18. This is a black, round cable that includes two internal shielded cables. Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net cancellation
And speaking of how ham radio must be changing over the years, what the heck did people do about signal reports before they had S meets to read? Bear in mind that this question is mostly rhetorical. I don't bother with S meter readings myself, but I do try to give honest signal reports anyway. BTW, you'll note that many if not most contests don't use signal reports as part of the exchange anymore precisely because of the "599 problem". Re: [Elecraft] Ultra flexible Multi-Conductor Shielded cable source?
I have quite successfully used sections of HDMI cables for multi shielded cables in many applications. There are four shielded twisted pairs one HDMI cable plus a number of signal lines. among other things I used one when I adapted my David Clark aviation headset for my rig. I used one shielded line for the mic and the other for the ear phones and one of the other lines to provide bias for the mic. works great. For analog use I would think that most HDMI cables are fine but if you want good grade some high end brands like monster cable can be pretty good quality cable. Another source is VGA cable with if memory server 3 shielded lines for RGB. these are unbalanced (singe ended) Last is USB there are four conductors two are twisted pair typically green and white they are all shielded in one jacket. Re: [Elecraft] Annoying Contesters
I've been following this thread and I've yet to see ONE complaint about contesters. I have seen a lot by a **few** contesters asking why anyone else would expect to use the bands on which a contest is running. But those comments only come from a few, certainly not representative of most contesters. It all started when Kevin cancelled the ECN this week to avoid conflicting with the contest. No gripe. This is not an elegant solution, but I do use my Yamaha CM500 most of the time. I have it plugged into the back of the K3. My MH2 microphone is still plugged into the front, and I just use the "push to talk" switch on the MH2, even when I'm using the CM500. Of course, a simple switch could be created, but this took no effort and isn't all that bad an alternative. Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net cancellation
Well yes it is Kevin. The CW nets I was in in 1951 were used to pass message traffic. You would think if there is a 'net' using the Elecraft name, the least that could be done is to discuss technical issues about Elecraft ham gear. That I know of, Elecraft does not make thermometers or gauges to measure snow fall. But the 'law' is, if you are having fun, you should continue, as I will do with contesting on the weekends, leaving the WARC band free. (thats gotta me me!) sent my call back two more times and he came back K6UJ 599 (all contest reports are 599 hihi) I fired back 599 CA and he replied TU. (how sweet these two letters sound !) Re: [Elecraft] Annoying contests
It's the NASCAR factor. The stark RX improvement of first the K2 and then the K3 over all the competition, and the difference that made in contests, and such things as K3 being fully half the chosen rigs in the last WRTC, really shoved Elecraft out there. TenTec has been forced to make changes and improvements to their Orion series to catch up that they easily could have made 5 years ago, but now are playing catch-up, just like the Japanese manufacturers. The only comparable technical advancement in all the years I have been drooling over ham rigs, was the 32S/75S Collins series of rigs all the way back in the late 50's. Some Collins buffs would put the advancement starting with the 75A3/4 rather than the S line. TenTec had the early opportunities but failed in execution, without the vision of an Elecraft. TenTec particularly lacked the responsiveness and deep careful analysis and incorporation of customer feedback that so characterizes Elecraft. TenTec certainly had the early support and cooperation of ham technical heavyweights in the beginning, some famously lost to Elecraft after consistently being summarily ignored on clear issues. TenTec's failures AND accomplishments in RX were clearly visible to and could have been cherry-picked by the Japanese makers, who chose to ignore them as well. I AM left to wonder what an Art Collins would have done with another company leaping into a new performance dimension. I doubt the year would pass without an answer. Nor would JA1MP, for that matter. I would say that the Elecraft is down significantly in fit and finish from the venerable S line. The S line is still the pleasure to look at and simply turn knobs. But the S line is the historical high for fit and finish for all ham rigs. But Elecraft more than counters for that by being commonly affordable. The S line plus the 650 watt output 30L1 in 1958-1960 would set you back just about $2000, about the same as a fullsize Ford Fairlane of the time. Comparably, a fairly maxed out K3 plus a KPA500 will set you back $7000. The difference is that $2000 in 1958 is worth at least $15,685 in 2012. And you can't touch a Ford Fusion for 15k. One is tempted to set the time-adjusted price differential at more than 3 to 1. Furthermore the S-Line does not have QSK, does not have dual diversity receivers, or a keyer, or the raft of K3 features, and takes up six or seven times the desk space of the K3 KPA combo. Nevertheless, the S line is still the all time leader in raw cumulative drool time and drool volume and may never be surpassed. Joe DiMaggio kind of record. But it was the RX performance of a K3 that got around like lightning, about contesters in crowded band with huge signals on both sides, hearing with their K3's down into a hiss on a band, absent a layer of beeble-bobble-click clutter and IMD garbage that everybody THOUGHT was the band ambient noise. For myself, it was realizing that on 40 meters, there was a whole new previously unheard layer of 50 and 100 watt low backyard dipole RUSSIANS down in the hiss, and the last layer of signals was NO LONGER the DL/OK QRP clubs, who now were almost always copied on first call except those with liquid-nitrogen-cooled noodle antennas. Contesters simply DO NOT MISS changes of that magnitude, and propagation of information about that between contesters was light-speed. Yeah, dang all them contests, and complain all the way to the bank, and all the way to the top ten in the contest listings. 73, Guy On Sun, Feb 19, 2012 at 4:24 PM, Ken G Kopp wrote: > I suspect one of the principal reasons the K3 ... and the K2 ... are > where they are in the performance pecking order is because of the > DX'er and contester market. > > 73! > Ken - K0PP > kengk...@gmail.com > __ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Elecraft] K3 resistance check prolblem
I'm assembling a K3, and I'm doing the resistance checks on page 45 between U12 and U13 to ground [Rev L6 manual]. U13 measures around 450 ohms to ground [OK]. U12 initially measures 900 ohms, goes up to about 2.5K ohms in a second or two, and then drops to 0 ohms. I'm using a DVM to make these measurements. Any comments about this finding will be helpful. Since I upgraded to 5.1, my Windows 7 PC and HRD will communicate using the Elecraft USB/Serial cable as evidenced by seeing the K3 frequency in the HRD K3 emulation screen. However, after a few minutes the K3 emulation locks up and stops communicating with the K3. I am using a K3, P3 and a KPA500 all with current firmware, at 38.4 Kbps on USB emulation Comm 6, when the HRD K3 emulation locks up, the Elecraft K-Line continues to communicate among themselves correctly. What you're looking for is portable microphone cable. The good manufacturers of the raw cable are Belden and Gepco. The music store will sell you cable with connectors on it that you don't need, so it will be more expensive. A sound contractor can simply cut you a piece of cable off of one the reels in his shop. Make sure that he understands that you want PORTABLE mic cable, NOT rack wiring cable. Both kinds are a twisted pair inside a shield, but the portable cable will have a nice braid shield, while the rack cable will be foil with a drain wire. Are you certain your 12VDC power isn't dropping out? A lot of power supply issues from a bad connection to regulator failure or overheat can cause that. Re: [Elecraft] Annoying contests
I have no doubt that contesting and DX-chasing, because of its great popularity, has been foremost in the designer's minds while developing new products since so many enjoy that work, and it's good that they do. The rest of the Hams then get the benefit of having superior rigs available at a decent price. There are many valid reasons for a non-contest operator to own such a top rated rig. For example, I'm an avid DX-er, but I rarely jump into a pileup. The DX I work are the ones who call me or who I find without pileups and we often engage in rag chews. In that situation I am grateful for the excellent engineering in the rig that gives me a clean signal and superior rig. In the rare instances I do jump into a pileup, I'm sure those nearby are happy not to hear a ton of phase noise or clicks every time I hit the key. On the other hand I'm an avid QRP enthusiast and grateful for the superb Elecraft receivers for stability and weak signal reception, especially when a QRO station fires up nearby. And then there are many of us involved in RACES and ARES, serving our communities and our country constantly training to provide communications in time of disaster where equipment reliability, flexibility and efficiency are paramount because communications often occur under less-than-desirable conditions. A top-rated Elecraft rig is certainly not wasted on them. And there are those involved in advancing the state of the art though new designs or by improving existing designs. I've seen many improvements in Elecraft rigs have come from them in the dozen years since I built my first Elecraft rig. Some of their design improvements became part of the product. Others use the Elecraft rigs as tools for exploring new modes and as a basis for advanced communications work in propagation studies and the like. I could go on, but those are a few examples. 73, Ron AC7AC -Original Message- The K3 is certainly where it is in the *sales* pecking order because of DXers and contesters. What about the poor net operators? Can't someone invent a way for the rig to automatically give the temperature? I mean, heck, Wayne already has the temperature sensor built in. It monitors the front panel temperature on the K3. Re: [Elecraft] filter offsets question
David, there are both 5 pole and 8 pole filters available from Elecraft. The 8-pole filters have a somewhat flatter passband and steeper skirts than the 5-poles. (These are crystal filters and the "poles" refer to the crystal poles in each filter - more poles means better filtering but more complex matching of the crystal elements required for correct performance, hence greater cost). Because the specs on the 5-pole filters are a little looser their exact center frequency may shift slightly. The "offset" is a value entered to center up a 5-pole filter on the K3's intermediate frequency. The 8-pole filters are extremely consistent and need no offset correction. The "standard" 2.7 kHz filter is a 5-pole filter, hence a correction value is provided. Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net cancellation
The signal report in most contests is a historical artifact. It isn't even checked as part of the log checking process (which is why everyone uses "599") but contest sponsors are reluctant to drop it from the exchange anyway, presumably for legacy reasons such as possible effect on QSO rate ... i.e., impact on current scores relative to past records. In addition, many contesters prefer that it be retained as well because in situations of high QRN or QRM it can act as a preface or "warning" in rhythm that the important part of the exchange is coming next. By the way, why is it a "problem" that people in a contest don't want to stop and chat? That's like saying you don't understand why a participant in a 10K foot race doesn't stop and chat with bystanders along the route. Silly. Re: [Elecraft] Yamaha CM500/PPT Headset
The only "dumb" question is the question not asked! If you want to hold a PTT switch in your hand, you might consider the MH3 microphone that has built in PTT *and* frequency up/down buttons that allow you to tweak the receive frequency without touching the KX3 itself. A hand switch to work with the CM500 would require some sort of adapter as others pointed out. The KX3 uses a four wire TRRS mic connector (tip, ring 1, ring 2 and sleeve). Connecting the rings together puts the KX3 in transmit. That's why you must disable the PTT operation in the KX3's MENU if you plug in a mono mic connector such as the CM500 or the ProSet have. Otherwise the two rings short to the sleeve in the mono jack and the KX3 will transmit. 73 Ron AC7AC -Original Message- From: va3...@gmail.com [mailto:va3...@gmail.com] Sent: Sunday, February 19, 2012 2:39 PM To: Ron D'Eau Claire; elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Yamaha CM500/PPT Headset Oi so no need at all for PTT with the CM500 I am bad Thanks And if I want a hand switch etc? Re: [Elecraft] Ham Radio Deluxe Version 5.1 Trouble with K-Line
Don, No I haven't joined there. I'm already sifting through 125-300 emails a day (after I dropped 17 groups three months ago!). I'll join and read from the web; that will limit my inbox. Even when moving within the 'CW' portion of a band (I've been doing DX S&P some in the contest), its changing modes when I tap the DX cluster entry. I find no menu setting to en/disable the mode set 'feature' or set any parameters. It's very poor programming style to add something new and untested without any chance for the user to turn that feature off. Yes, it's beta, but they 'broke' it. It doesn't bode well for the new owners. If I can set the ranges (a-b for CW, b-c for data, c-d for phone) then it might be useful. It would be more useful to allow me to set the K3 mode when switching modes in DM780 too (Data A for PSK, CW for CW). But until it is finished, allow me to turn it OFF. There is also a new "Radio Operations Center" but no documentation at all. I haven't tried it since I don't know what it does or how to implement it. But something new in this version is still causing the VFO to jump (only 3-5 KHz, but it is never appropriate). I checked the port values and they're appropriate. Something else is belching in this version. 73, Rick WA6NHC -Original Message- From: gold...@charter.net Hi Rick, I dont know about the random frequency jumps, but the changing of modes is someting new in version 5.1. If the ECN (I guess that means Elcraft Cw Net?) is for chatting on a clear frequency, why is it not on the WARC bands (contest free) and/or why is it on the weekend when it is well known that almost every weekend there is many different contest going on. (And they have been going on for YEARS!) Besides, who in their right mind is going to put aside several hours each weekend to find out how much snow fell in different locations or what someone's present temperature is at the moment??? How boring can you get? As many 500 watt reports coming from Europe this weekend, you would get the impression that all of the KPA-500's went to Europe and they are being put to the test. [Elecraft] Yuma Hamfest
Hi All, I just got home from the Yuma/ARRL SW Division Hamfest. It was a nice gathering, but not huge--not as big as Pacificon, for example. Friendly folks, though, and some pretty decent weather. It was much better in Yuma than just east in Tucson, where I live. I got to see several old friends, which always makes these gatherings worth doing. I hadn't seen Ron, KU7Y, for several years. He and I are old "golfing buddies", as some of you QRP Quarterly readers may remember from our cover photo some years back--we did a little DX operating from a golf cart--on an otherwise very empty golf course, I might add, so we weren't holding anyone else up while we played with the radio! My good friend Jim Duffy (Dr. Megacycle), KK6MC, made the trip from Albuquerque, which I thought was a valiant effort. He enjoyed it a lot--his words--so it was worth the long drive. Chuck Adams, K7QO also came over from Phoenix--I think to scope out the KX3, as a lot of us were doing. I get the feeling that Chuck may opt for a K2 first, but he's definitely sniffing around for something new. Doug Hendricks brought his QRP Kits Road Show along, and he had a very nice booth set up. I was a little worried as to how many QRP enthusiasts might show up, but Doug says he did pretty well selling his kits, so I guess it turned out O.K. It's really kind of impressive to see how many kits Doug has in his line-up these days--including the Red Hot kit line from a few years back, which he recently acquired the rights to from Dave Fifield. That was a superb kit, and Doug was pretty astute to bring it back. Doug also revived the DCXX mini QRP transceiver kits--these are single board, xtal controlled transceivers for various bands, and dirt cheap! I built one for 40 meters, and it works great! Chuck Carpenter added a nice little VXO mod for it, and it just so happens that my friend Tony Fishpool, G4WIF has recently been toying with a VXO circuit using ceramic resonators that might be available from GQRP. Anyway, that's a great transceiver project, especially for new hams. I have to add that I was fortunate to have a winning door prize ticket, and my prize was an Elecraft XG2, which I traded up for the new XG3, since I already have the XG2. Not bad for $5 worth of tickets. Apparently, though, I didn't win any of the "grand prize" stuff, which was really a lot of very nice items. Guess I can't get too greedy! I chatted briefly with Eric Swartz about the upcoming new items from Elecraft. Of course, the KX3 is uppermost in most peoples minds, and apparently they are getting pretty close to production. Nobody will say how many have been pre-ordered, but it is a bunch! I was particularly interested in hearing any news on the KAT500, and Eric said that is progressing nicely as well. It will be summer, probably, before that's ready to go. Eric is pretty excited about the KAT500's capabilities, and I am too. He says it will handle 500 watts without breaking a sweat, and mentioned that if your actual SWR is something around 3 to 1 or less, it will handle a lot more! At the design power levels it will handle a much broader range of SWR's, as it is the same basic design as what you see in the K3's ATU, etc. No commitment regarding price yet, but I think I read between the lines as to the probable range. It's speculation, though, so I won't go further as to our conversation on that matter. So, a nice weekend here in the desert. Sorry more of you couldn't make it, but there are a lot of other great events coming up in the near future. What I use for a hand PTT switch is a small Micro Switch snap action switch from my junkbox. It is about an inch long and half an inch wide and just a little higher. It has a button on the top. After soldering wires on the terminals I covered the back half with shrink tubing. Since I am not a touch typist I can hold it in my hand while using a keyboard or even write with a pencil. Re: [Elecraft] RX eq
Yep, Fred. During my music career a mic's "proximity effect" (close talk) was perfect to enhance a vocal with that special Big Bopper or Elvis bottom end. And, think Righteous Brothers too."You never close your eyes.." rattled the walls. Sure 55's and SM-58's were ideal for that. And if you ever saw George Carlin livethe proximity effect was his trademark accent to any point he wanted to drive home. Ah, the good old days. Re: [Elecraft] Yamaha CM500/PPT Headset
A monaural (two-conductor) 3.5 mm mic plug will work with the KX3. That's how the ProSet is used with it. One disables the PTT function (otherwise plugging in the mono plug will put the KX3 in xmit). You can use VOX or tap the XMIT switch on the KX3 to switch between tx and rx. Ron AC7AC -Original Message- Actually it does not matter. No adapter is included with the K3 or KX3. The KX3 will include a mic plug you can wire yourself. It is a 3.5mm 4 conductor plug. There is a menu item to enable or disable the up/dn button signals provided by the MH3 mic. Hello, Since I switched to HRD version 5.1, I am getting random frequency 'jumps' without user intervention (no knob turning, no changes on the HRD commands) and when I do click on the DX cluster, it will often (but not always) change modes. Here's a link to the entire line of Koss communication headsets: http://www.koss.com/en/products/headphones/commercial-institutional I've used a non-microphone headset (Koss Porta-PRO) for years and it's one of my favorites. The problem is it's not an over-the-ear style so the sound isolation isn't very good but the sound is fantastic. If you have a quiet shack they're great. Re: [Elecraft] Ham Radio Deluxe Version 5.1 Trouble with K-Line
HI Rick, I am running using windows xp with no problems with version 5.1, in fact some problems that I had for shutting down and locking up have been corrected. My settings are COM1 at 38,400 baud. I am also using dm780 for digital modes with no issues at all either. If there is something specific you want to have me look at let me know. ~73 Don KD8NNU On Sun, Feb 19, 2012 at 1:53 PM, Rick Bates wrote: > I use the same settings carried over from the last Simon issue. > > The new team has created new bugs. :o( > > Rick WA6NHC > > > -Original Message- > From: David S. Re: [Elecraft] Tuner Opinions Needed
I have an AT100pro that I use with the K2/100 and has been trouble free. It has dual range watt meter and displays SWR. It tunes my G5RV without issues. Re: [Elecraft] Ham Radio Deluxe Version 5.1 Trouble with K-Line
I use the same settings carried over from the last Simon issue. The new team has created new bugs. :o( Rick WA6NHC -Original Message- From: David S. Mulvey I am having trouble with the new Ham Radio Deluxe Version 5.1 software release. Has anyone on the forum made the HRD 5.1 upgrade and if so, how do you have your Comm settings set? Thank you in advance for your ideas and help! 73's N3CAQ - David S.
