Good Evening,

   Three inches of fresh snow reveals a lot.  I saw a family group of 
four coyotes against the white backdrop.  They entered the more open 
areas of my land covered with grasses, shrubs, and ferns under the 
canopy of fir and hemlock.  They split into two pairs; I lost track of 
the farther two.  The nearer ones worked as a team.  One would pounce, 
slapping its forelegs on either side of a lump of grass or ferns.  The 
other pounced from another direction a moment later, landing snout first 
to catch its prey. They took turns and did quite well for themselves, 
catching small rodents with a one in four success rate.


   Our sun has few spots, although 3153 is threatening.  The solar flux 
rate is about the same as last week.  The auroral oval shows some ions 
are flowing our way, but not in vast numbers (astronomically speaking of 
course).  QSB may be lower.  The best way to find out about the 
propagation is to try it and see, you may be surprised.

[Elecraft] Offered to sell: 2x K3's

Just working on the ad's for both radios, however wanted to give the 
group first dibs.
I have (2) fully loaded mid and late serial No. K3's that will be 
looking for new homes. I've decided to take a different direction in the 
shack.
Both of these radios have been updated with the latest revision boards 
and have been tested and calibrated on my bench.

Hi, Eric.

Thanks for the update. I'm thankful that Elecraft is making these kits
available so long after the last production run of the K3 and the kits.  My
K3 s/n 6011 is working fine with the original KIO3 and am looking forward
to the new capabilities of the "B".

Me too! I paid for three KIO3BUPKITs on 20 April, 2021 (to improve my 
preamp situation), and have not heard a peep since.
Meanwhile, I've lost interest in 6m, so they will be of limited use, I 
assume.

I hope they'll be available by spring.

You have to order those from Elecraft I think.

The most likely near future, which Elecraft has (have?) apparently chosen, 
could be the constant grumbling we will all make for years to come as we sit 
and stare at our K3s with various dead boards. Flex, Yaesu and Icom are all 
rooting for this status quo to continue.

I'd like to suggest a different future. For decades, China has reverse 
engineered practically everything and then sold it for half of what it costs us 
to make it.

I'm pretty sure you could take any K3 circuit board to China and have a working 
prototype in like 24 hours. But it would take an entrepreneur among us to make 
that happen.

& sold it...now with POTA becoming popular, I'd like to have a KX2 again
but estimated shipping times have been "12-16 weeks" for months.
