[Elecraft] K3/P3 w/SVGA for sale
I've decided to sell my new and almost unused K3 (S/N 7850) and P3 w/SVGA package (both factory assembled 11/2013). K3 re-inspected under warranty 1/2014, and full calibration and alignment. Less than 50 hrs use. Both have been in the single box factory packaging since January. Physical and electrical condition as received new. Smoke free environment and no portable or mobile ops. Fully filtered dual receivers, no internal tuner, standard TCXO, most options. Somebody who loves the K3/P3 needs to give them a good shack to operate in. Have $5500 invested. Sale documentation, warranty report, and pictures on request. Good in QRZ. Will only sell as package. No Trades or other offers please. 73, Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K3-P3-w-SVGA-for-sale-tp7590967.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
Re: [Elecraft] Text Decode Issues
Not sure if it's comparable to the KX3, but I find the current K3's decode to be relatively worthless compared with the original version I owned years ago. Something has changed and somewhere I read it was given it's own AGC or whatever for an improvement. I can send and receive CW to my satisfaction, so for me it's just something I use as a background visual source for my P3/SVGA/monitor while I'm doing something else. If I want to really decode some contest 30-40 CW I use the small portable audio-fed Microcraft Multi-mode gizmo I bought years ago. Works perfectly while the K3 fumbles with the same source. Only the loudest and clearest gets unscrambled. 73, Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Text-Decode-Issues-tp7587553p7587573.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
Re: [Elecraft] A confession
I want to thank all that replied to my OP for their perspectives. In fairness to the ham's experimental spirit I plan to return my K3/P3 to the bench and relearn the O/S. It appears the Utility program's features are essential, and I need to download and become familiar with that product. I own and have read Fred KE7X's work as well. I now clearly see the point of Elecraft's business model vs others. I too went through the I-Y-K model evolutionary odyssey, and don't wish to repeat those events. Thanks for the sound advice from where experience counts, 73, Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/A-confession-tp7583887p7583940.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] A confession
Thanks to all, including Wayne N6KR, for commenting on their experience and suggestions for continued use of the K3/P3. Despite my experience and ability to read the OM, I had some issues with the audio output connections and 2nd VFO control. It was recommended to me to return the rig for a rebirth because I hadn't used the Utility program and saved the original factory configuration before a hard reset. Its consequences wasn't a deal breaker, and Elecraft treated me very well as always getting the radio back operating properly. My conundrum is how the K3 (and work in progress P3 with SVGA-keyboard enabled software) will exceed the performance of my TS-590, MK-V Field, or unmentioned IC-765. I'm not a troll as some have suggested (my skin is tougher than yours), but a rather basic person given to operating rather than idly fussing with electronics. I've owned and/or operated many radios over the last 20 some years and am very familiar with my second K3/P3. The question remains for me to answer: will they both still be in a box a month from now? And if so, why not? Thanks for any comments either directly or here. I'm looking for perspective on the Elecraft products versus others some have used. 73, Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/A-confession-tp7583887p7583893.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Elecraft] A confession
I'm Gary and I'm a ham radio operator. This winter I bought my second K3/P3 to replace a mediocre new TS-990. After some self generated issues with the speaker output, the sub-receiver VFO, and hard reset, I sent the K3 back to Elecraft for regeneration. It was fixed in a timely manner and returned. Thank you Elecraft. In the meantime I reverted to my trusty two...a Kenwood TS-590 and Yaesu MK-V Field. Both work well, are simple to use and maintain, and have their place in my shack. Recently FT5ZM was monitored and worked with the 590...good S5 copy on both but the key was hooked to the 590, so it got the nod. Next to VK0IR, that's a long haul via Grey Line from Interior KL7. Now the confession. The K3 still sits in its unopened box, next to the P3/SVGA in its. I keep asking myself, will I ever remove and use them again? I'm not a SDR or computer enthusiast, and the reason I got rid of the first K3/P3 was having to deal with the occasional O/S bumps, frequent updates, and relatively complex user interface for both. Being a slave to a piece of equipment no longer interests me. I'm still working on a solution. Anyone else go through this to their satisfaction? 73, Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/A-confession-tp7583887.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] OT- item return upon dead on arrival (DOA) - usual commercial practice
Hello Johnny, sorry to hear of your recent product failure. I'll respond here because the product you ordered (https://www.aspectsolar.com/products_EnergyBar_250.aspx) may have applications for other Elecraft users. Your experience may not be typical of their quality assurance program. AspectSolar has chosen Aircraft Spruce as their International Distributer (https://www.aspectsolar.com/contact_...@-worldwide.aspx), as AS has a good reputation in the aircraft community for product sales and support. Aircraft Spruce likely has the technology and staff infrastructure to serve customers outside the USA. I've spent many $ over the years buying aircraft products from them, and other vendors as well. I have no experience with defective merchandise and Aircraft Spruce, however. While some vendors (notably Elecraft) go well beyond normal practice in serving their customer's needs, it's not typical practice for vendors to automatically assume shipping costs. It can depend upon the situation. Nobody but Elecraft in my experience has helped 100% with service and shipping to KL7 in special circumstances. Most USA customers outside KL7 or KH6 get free shipping when orders exceed a certain amount. We usually pay additional fees to Alaska. I'd contact AspectSolar directly with a request for their usual practice regarding their return of defective merchandise. They may help, they may not, but it's worth an attempt. 73, Gary NL7Y (I have no business link to AspectSolar or Elecraft) -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/OT-item-return-upon-dead-on-arrival-DOA-usual-commercial-practice-tp7583182p7583223.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] Is it Competition
To be brief...I owned my first K3/P3 together with a KW TS-590. I preferred the K3 for weak CW in my city QRN, but decided to leave Elecraft until their products matured. The 590 is nice, and while it has a few warts, works ok for me. Four years later...I bought and tested for almost a month a TS-990 against my 590. I felt the 590 was as, if not more, capable than the 990's main receiver, and equal to the sub receiver on weak CW 20-160M in the presence of city QRN. I didn't test it in a crowded contest. The 990 has lots of features and interface bling. I sold the 990 at a loss to revisit the K3/P3. I find that the K3/P3 have matured, and fully filtered still does better dealing with weak CW than my 590. 73, Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Is-it-Competition-tp7582146p7582201.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Elecraft] Fwd: Speakers audio is gone
Enough drama already. For $1.99 I bought the recommended Radio Shack P/N 274-0375 1/8" dual mono jack to 1/8" stereo Y-adapter. Now I can op my stereo head set and play the current mono speaker w/o smoking the radio. It does fit the I/O board with everything next to it occupied. I decided to go that route rather than making up a special purpose dual mono cable > stereo plug. I have a second receiver and plan stereo speakers. Now at will I can add a second unit and just plug it into the adapter. Or, just run one in Contests, DX, or at Field Day for bystanders. Speakers + Phone = Yes and all work plus AFX. Press off on the speaker (IC SP 20) and it's headset only. For the price of the adapter, it or similar should come with the radio and end this potential 'short and warning label' nonsense. Not everybody is like me and lives a mile from a parts supplier, and new owners may not be aware of the potential for damage until... 73, Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Speakers-audio-is-gone-tp7581916p7581975.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] Fwd: Speakers audio is gone
Another mono/stereo speaker comment and question. Fred KE7X covers this topic well in his reference, as does Elecraft in their Owner's manual...to some extent. Above noted earlier " I have a Radio Shack P/N 274-0374 1/8" Mono Jack to 1/8 Stereo Plug Adapter stuck in the back of my K3. It feeds the mono plug to my ICOM SP 20." That particular adapter shorts the tip (left speaker feed) and the ring (next up the plug; right speaker feed) when a monaural plug is inserted. When OHM'd out the sleeve (third up the plug and metal body) sees 8 ohms between either the tip or ring when connected to the single monaural speaker (because they're shorted). Question for those that better understand the Elecraft's audio wiring: Will shorting the left and right speaker channels cause harm when they see the same 8 ohm source? 73, Gary NL7Y PS: Alternatively I can install a Radio Shack 274-375 dual mono to stereo adapter, or a simple stereo plug on my mono cord. -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Speakers-audio-is-gone-tp7581916p7581946.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Hello Don and thanks for the info…that’s what I expected…a short from ring to sleeve. I have a 1/8 stereo plug to solder up to the SP 20 tomorrow per your suggestion. Somewhere I read that Elecraft had installed some bleeder resistors (or ?) to help delay the inevitable smoke from the audio amp. As always thanks for your input. I left Elecraft four years to wander the desert looking for other rigs. My K3 review in E-Ham says it all. Glad I’m back. Soon 160 will return and my K3/P3 will be ready. I have a Radio Shack P/N 274-0374 1/8" Mono Jack to 1/8 Stereo Plug Adapter stuck in the back of my K3. It feeds the mono plug to my ICOM SP 20. No smoke so far, but I've wondered if the mono input side of the adapter still shorts the stereo output. Suppose I should test it and find out. I read somewhere that there was an internal K3 upgrade to potentially reduce the problem. If it's an issue, maybe Elecraft should offer a preferred adapter? I've used Bill W4ZV's technique since receiving my K3 a year ago = 50 to 100Hz BW and 8db filter gain on the 200Hz filter. It's sometimes the only way I can hear DX from Interior Alaska. Re: [Elecraft] [K3] K3: CW weak signal
Low band DX from Interior Alaska are always a work in progress. Ignore the howling and instead listen for the signal. It's not a wolf at the door. Try this for weak DX: 200Hz filter (or the narrowest you have) 6-8db filter gain (weigh S/N vs signal strength - I set mine at 8db gain for weak, lower for stronger) BW 100-0.50 Hz (any wider is worse for weak signals for me) Pre-Amp on (it does help and does not distort the signal) NB as required (I need DSP 2-7, IF Med-7, = 2S units lower city noise) AGC Threshold 006 for weak signals, 005 for stronger signals if AGC on AGC Slope 000, 005 for stronger signals if AGC on Also try AGC Off and ride the RF gain for best signal Adjust audio gain for minimum noise/best signal You truly haven't experienced the unique abilities of the K3 until you work Low Band DX in, or just out of the the noise floor, compared with other radios. It's an amazing piece of radio gear. 73 Gary NL7Y _ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-CW-weak-signal-tp3981344p3991230.html Sent from the [K3] mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Elecraft] VCO CAL - a fix for audio gaps?
Yesterday I went to 18 MHz SSB to work K5D - not. There were some periodic real quiet audio gaps in the 17M band. Hmmm? When I switched from the 2.7 filter to my 2.1 the gaps disappeared, and switching to CW mode also filled the band with sigs. If allowed to warm up some, the receiver problem went away in SSB mode. E-mailed Gary at Elecraft Support for suggestions. Within only 10 min he responded that I should do a VCO CAL (Manual, p. 49), and check to see if I had the mod resistors added to my KSYN3 boards. I did the CAL to both receivers and all was well again. Still ok today. Not sure why but the procedure worked for me. Still need to check for the resistor mods, but they are likely there as the rig was just back to the factory a month ago for a tune-up. No where else but with Elecraft have I found such good support and helpful folks 100% of the time. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as much as I have mine. I turn 63 next week, and am looking forward to working K5D starting the day after on 160M (or ???) if I get lucky. CU in the pileup! 73 Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/newbie-tp2270032p2270800.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] K3 RF knob Broken
Has anyone other then me had one of the inter knobs for the RF or AF gain break? Ron NA9F Had two crack S/N 2324, one ea. inner and outer. Called Elecraft Parts, and replacements send no questions. Removing the cracked knobs took too much torque on the small set screws. The set screws were too tight at Factory assy I believe. I used the small end of the supplied Allen wrenches to just tighten, not the long end. So far so good. Will send in defective parts, but I believe they were just over-tightened. I checked the rest of the knobs and they were not as tight, but reset them anyway. Small annoyance on an otherwise excellent product. Thanks Elecraft. 73 Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-RF-knob-Broken-tp2266519p2267418.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] SSB IMD
Which reminds me...I set my power supply to deliver 14.5V at the input to my K3 terminals under load. Although the power supply specification says... "Supply Voltage/current: 13.8 V nominal during TX. (11 V min, 15 V max). 17-22 Amps typical in TX (100W). 0.9A minimum RX." Not to hijack the review thread, but if I set my MFJ-4245MV power supply output to no lower than 14.5V on the K3's internal meter when receiving (and same at the output posts), under full transmit load the indicated voltage drops on the K3's meter to 13.8V, and to 14.35 at the power supply output on my uncalibrated DVOM. If set to 13.8V output, under full load it indicates 12.9V on the rig, and 13.65V at the power supply. Not sure where the K3 meter gets it's data. It might be worth exploring in another thread what effect on transmitter electrical performance there is, if any, when the power supply output is nominally set at only 13.8V, and then drops under load almost a volt. BTW, reviewers in the E-HAM ads are entitled to their opinions, but proper ID adds reader confidence. The review to me reads grossly negative without substantiation. For example, in my opinion his comments about the dual NB efficacy are little more than a broadside rant, and display a lack of understanding about the NB utility, if my positive experience with their use is any indication. The rest of the review may reflect similar unsubstantiated opinions. The K3 is not perfect, but compared with the others that have passed through my shack, including most of the new JA DSP radios, it's a keeper with a built-in potential for evolution. 73 Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/New-Eham.net-K3-review-by-QRPNEW-tp2218086p2221412.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Maybe you would have had the same results with a 400 or 500 Hz filter with the DSP bandwidth at 150 or less." Hi Vic and thanks for the thoughts. Well, this weekend during the 160 Contest, and previous to that, I tried what you and others have suggested. I disabled via the Config menu the 200Hz, then my 500Hz, then my 2.1Hz filters and operated at the same 150 BW described or less. The noise went up and the S/N ratio made copying sigs more difficult. Time and again. I live in a high noise city environment - like S9+10-15 AM mode on 160, S7-9+5 CW/SSB with 2.7 filter on my Inv-L depending upon time of day and nearby electrical demand. It's overall city hash, and not from one point source like a bad powerpole. Done all I can with the local utility company. Spent 10's of thousands on noise nullers, DSP units, and many radios until the K3 came along to save the day for me. I also have a rotatable Wellbrook receiving loop for the second receiver that cuts the noise 3-4 S units compared with the Inv-L. Anyhow, apparently by inserting the narrow 200Hz roofing filter I'm able to reduce to a minimum the hash getting into the receiver chain. The wider the roofing filter, the more the hash for me at least. The DSP narrows the passband, but can't handle the QRN as well as the fixed filter in my situation. True story, and your experience may vary in a quiet environment. 73 Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-in-160-contest-tp2213798p2219858.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] K3 in 160 contest
I've found that with the 200Hz filter enabled in both of my receivers via diversity reception mode, BW set to 150 or less, that weak sigs pop out of my high S5 city noise floor like the best audio APF enabled rigs I've owned (many). Elecraft has a Genie of sorts helping us on CW, and no filter ringing that I care to mention. Amazing, and thank you Elecraft for my fun in the 160M CQ test. 73 Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-in-160-contest-tp2213798p2216536.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] HRD cw copy
I've used the CW decoder ring function on my K3 a few times, but that's not why I bought the rig. Good code, with a likewise good S/N ratio, yields good machine copy. So does my brain to some extent. The spoilers are those ops that send CW in a continuous unbroken stream, and high noise levels relative to the CW signal. The former apparently like sending a stream via a key, or more likely a keyboard, and hopefully there's a very experienced op or PC program at the other end to make sense of it all. Some folks talk that way as well. The challenge in a high noise environment is the ability to set the signal threshold just above the noise to prevent the generation of random extraterrestrial code = E's and T's. Yes I use and peak the K3's noise blankers, and sometimes the NR with a wide filter, but it's those brief noise pops that bleed through that ruin the CW soup. Somehow improving that aspect will improve the machine copy I believe. 73 Gary NL7Y -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/HRD-cw-copy-tp2195214p2205296.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] Filters for weak signal 160 meter CW and crowded contest bands
I wish I could vary the pitch of a signal directly while listening to it, instead of having the sidetone cover it up. 73, Drew AF2Z Excellent suggestion Drew. My IC-765 has that feature (as do many rigs), and I recently forgot how much I depended upon it until I sent my K3 into Elecraft for upgrades, and started using the 765 again. It does fine tune in real time for the best CW audio/sig strength on the 765, much better than the K3's implementation for me. I wonder if the Elecraft folks can offer that feature in the future? 73 Gary NL7Y ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] Filters for weak signal 160 meter CW and crowded contest bands
I was thinking about acquiring either the 250 8 pole or the 200 5 pole. Any thoughts? Dana, K6NR Hello Dana. At my noisy QTH in Fairbanks, I often use the 200 Hz filter at a BW of 100 to 200 on 160M. I have both the 500 and 200 filters, but to get the QRN down, and maybe improve the S/N, the narrow filter and setting is best on what is often weak DX for me. On my small city lot I use a rotatable receiving loop (Wellbrook), which can hear better than my Inv-L most times. Also play with the AGC Slope (~3), Threshold (~6-8), CW pitch (~450-600 Hz), and filter insertion loss compensation (~4-6 db) to peak the weak sigs. I put the AGC settings on the PF 1-2 buttons for ready access as changes are often required depending upon the condx. 73 Gary NL7Y ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] K3 and noise
Hello Ron W3ZV. New owner of K3 2324 here. Noise at my QTH is local (lights, powerlines, electrical demand) that runs S5-9+ on SSB, depending upon time of day. It's more on AM, less on CW/Data modes. And that's on everything from my 160-L , 80 dipoles, to 3-El Steppir beam. Depending upon band, the K3 takes it at least 2-3 S units down via the dual NB's, and substantially improves the signal selectivity with the NR. I also use a Wellbrook loop for receive, which really helps with eliminating local stuff by 2-4 S units depending upon the source. I set my IF NB to 1-6, and the DSP NB to 1-6 or 2-6. Check for fidelity on SSB and CW. The NR works for me at 1-1/2 or 2-1/2. Narrow filters are better, and the NB's settings can vary by band. I would be concerned about your S2-3 w/o the antenna connected. If removing the antenna does not quell the noise to S0, then I suggest you have common-mode RF ingress from either your power supply, house wiring, or whatever else your K3 is connected to. See Jim K9AY's article on how to deal with this noise: http://audiosystemsgroup.com/RFI-Ham.pdf. I did and it worked for me. I used Fair-Rite Type 31 beads on every cable and coax in the shack. I also used a Tripp-Lite Ultra power conditioner on the 120V feeds, and ferrite beads on the 240V for the ACOM amp. Two to three S units of noise were lost via the common-mode suppression described. 73 and Merry Christmas from Santa Land -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-and-noise-tp1695565p1802028.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
