[Elecraft] Eurasian ECN

2004-08-11 Thread Dwayne Barbee
Hello guys, sorry for the long absence. Due to security considerations here
in Iraq I have been unable to participate in the Eurasian ECN. I hope that
others have been filling in and having fun. It does not seem that things
will change this week so I may not be able to make it once again. If things
do change I will be looking for all my European friends and anyone else who
would like to join in the fun.

[Elecraft] Eurasian ECN / SSB ?

2004-07-14 Thread Oscar Diez

Hi !

Is there any possibility to have also a "SSB QRG" in use during the Eurasian
ECN net ?
(maybe in parallel to the CW QRG ?) It would be great fun to make some
Inter-Elecraft-Rig QRP SSB QSOs on HF.

I could participate with my "SSB modified" K1 #1484 (since 1 week
additinally equiped
with a KAT1 auto-tuner). I am using the SSB board/modification of Giuliano
I0CG and
SSB works really great. (did some SSB QSOs during last contest weekend)

Operating the K1 in SSB is really a neat feature... ;-)

They're for ANYONE, but primarily for Elecraft Owners, QRP or OTHERWISE! At

[Elecraft] Eurasian ECN

2004-06-27 Thread DL2HRF
Hello Dwayne and Elecrafters,

Just read about the Eurasian ECN and find it a very good idea!
Thank you Dwayne!
Also thinking about the time/date of this event.
I suggest a different day and UTC.Due to the contests the bands
are totally crowded during the weekend with powerful stations.
But we need a clear frequency for our low power ,(low antenna)
equipment.
About the UTC, when the net is starting I also think we could try
a little later, as 20m is longer open during summer here in Europe
and propagation will be better when it is getting dark especially
on 40m.
So my idea goes to 18.30...19Z for 20 metres and 20.00Z for 40mtrs.

[Elecraft] Eurasian ECN 40m Errata

2004-06-19 Thread Dwayne Barbee
Due to band conditions and one way propagation I was unable to copy PA0RBO
and LA3ZA so in true ECN style Sverre and Robert worked each other. I will
have to work on getting stations to relay for me.here is their E/A ECN
QSO information

PA0RBO 599 Robert K2 2406 18:54 - 19:01
LA3ZA 559 Sverre K2 2189 18:54 - 19:01

Thanks to Svere for contacting me and letting me know about the contact. If
there were any other E/A ECN contacts between stations last night please let
me know.

[Elecraft] Eurasian ECN 40m

2004-06-19 Thread Dwayne Barbee
Well gang completed the first day of the Eurasian ECN, 40m was in alittle
better shape than 20m. The signals were alittle better and not as much QRM.
There was some QSB but not enough to make things real bad.
On to the list.
Coming in first with a weak signal and plenty of QSB was
UA6AIF Alex gave alex a 559, he gave 599 but QSB prevented copy of his rig
and power.
Next LZ2OP was 559 and more QSB, he gave 599 and dropped out of sight.
RA6AAW was booming with 599, he gave 599 Vlad TS570 80w.
and finally the last one in the loglong list e
RU3BY Gen with 599 and TS850S at 100w.

Thanks to all who participated in the net tonightif there are any
mistakes to either list please let me know and I will correct them asap. I
hope to catch you guys again next week same time same general vacinity. Now
back to our regularly scheduled brain sludge

RE: [Elecraft] EurAsian ECN

2004-06-19 Thread Sverre Holm
I heard YI9RVT for the full hour from 18-19 UTC on 7024.7, and heard him
QSO with several non-Elecraft stations. As far as I heard there were no
Elecraft stations logging in.

He was 459 here, and could not hear me with 15 Watts from my K2 ... and
that was the case for PA0RBO too. This may have been too early for
stations from Northern Europe, so PA0RBO and I made a ECN QRP QSO
afterwards.

It would be interesting to hear how much power YI9RVT used?

Next week maybe ...

[Elecraft] EurAsian ECN 20m Debut

2004-06-19 Thread Dwayne Barbee
Well folks the first log from the Eurasian ECN is in the books. The
conditions were less than favorable for QRP activity. The All Asian DX CW
Contest was going strong and burying us in QRM. Well now to the
numbers.or should I say number

HA0HH Gyorgy 559 unable to copy rig info.or power.

Maybe the 40m will be better unless it gets cancelled due to lack of
bandwidth. Well time to start listening for a gap to set up in on
40...Hope to see more of you guys out next weekend on 14.045+/- Saturday
at 1600z...
