[Elecraft] KX3 and HDSDR with omni rig ... question
I am a newbie with HDSDR and omni ... I got the panaramic display working but the received signals are displayed 12 kHz off of where they should be. The frequency of the LO and KX3 tuning are displayed in the correct position on the display. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Re: [Elecraft] KX3 and HDSDR
Today (3/26/2013) K3WWP and I did some extensive testing and checking on how to get HDSDR to cooperate with my laptop. After plenty of frustration we accidentally found that the external sound card I was trying to use (has a line in jack) loaded a extra soundcard driver that works with the mic input on the laptop. Connect the KX3 Serial to USB converter cable to the accessory 1 on your KX3 and connect a 1/8-1/8 cable (adapter needed on the KX3 end) from your laptop mic in to the I/Q on your KX3. This should help your rig and laptop communicate with each other. I hope this helps. 73 Michael KC2EGL -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/KX3-and-HDSDR-tp7560855p7571908.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] kx3 and hdsdr
Hello Reggie - Not the waterfall, but position your mouse on the spectral display (the display below the waterfall). A red line will appear. Move your mouse left or right to the frequency you require and left click. You should find that the KX3 changes to that frequency. I have HDSDR and Omnirig set up according to the PDF. I hope that helps. 73 de David G4DMP Ham radio also since 1955! Re: [Elecraft] kx3 and hdsdr
It doesn't work very well for me, on Windows 8. Omnirig talks to the KX3, no problem, as verified by running the Omnirig client. But HSDR stops talking to Omnirig after a few minutes. Nothing but a reboot fixes it. Makes HSDR unusable for me. --Mark K7NEW On 3/22/2013 7:19 PM, Reginald J Mackey SR wrote: I am using hdsdr sdr program with kx3. Re: [Elecraft] KX3 and HDSDR?
Jim, I was able to make it work. I have an E-MU-0202 card capable of 192KHz, but I only use 48KHz as I like the definition better. I was unaware of any internal laptop sound cards that will run at greater than 48 KHz. If your sound card input is stereo, I suggest you try 48KHz and see what happens. 73, Barry K3NDM On 10/31/2012 10:07 AM, Jim Sheldon wrote: > Has anyone with a KX3 successfully interfaced the HDSDR program to be able to > use it for control and spectrum display?
