Re: [Elecraft] K1/K2 Paint Color AND more

I bet that would be easy to catch... ;-) From Los Angeles: I have personally observed someone spraying white paint into a paper bag and then inhaling. White residue was around his nose, chin and cheeks. I understand it does quite a number on the liver. We also have a restriction of two packages purchased at one time for any product containing pseudoephedrine used as a nasal decongestant. It apparently is used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. The major blight in Los Angeles is graffitti. My printing plant is in an old industrial area south of downtown where there are quite a few gangs who like to mark their territory (similar to dogs). If we immediately remove the markings, after two or three attempts they go away and it stays clean for several weeks. They also like to steal copper coils out of industrial roof air conditioners. We have to weld cages around each unit. Geoff, K6TFZ ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. Re: [Elecraft] K1/K2 Paint Color ?
Ian; There are two solutions to the problem. One is exact, the other is awfully close. For touching up the K1/K2 etc. color, Elecraft sells small amounts of the exact matching color. If, however, you are building support boxes and want an awfully close match (but not exact), Rustoleum Textured #7221 Dark Pewter spray paint comes awfully close. I picked up a couple of cans at Home Depot for my projects. You have to look really close to see a difference. You'll find the paint behind locked gates, and be sure to bring your id no matter what your age... (sigh - the joys of living in California...) I remember seeing this on the reflector before, but I just can't find it now I need it - any suggestions? -Jack Brindle, W6FB === ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. There must be 'spray paint thieves' about (or maybe they are just trying to protect folks from themselves, a futile effort IMHO) - so far, the spray paint is on open shelves here in North Carolina. 73, Don W3FPR -Original Message- It's locked up at most stores here in Las Vegas but no id necessary (yet) 72/73 Tony W7GO ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
