Re: [PSES] EN 55022 for iTE

2011-11-22 Thread Scott Xe
Bill,

Thanks for your advice. I believe it is a new requirement and afraid no
accredited labs doing this test. It sounds the big labs should be equipped
with the necessary facilities since the standard becomes in force already.

Thanks to all replies!

Regards,

Scott

 Scott,
Testing to 6GHz became mandatory on October 1, 2011. You can comply with
 EN55022:2006 / A1:2007, or EN55022:2010. Testing above 1GHz is conditional
based on the clock /timing signals of the device being tested.

I would hope that labs are equipped and educated to test above 1GHz since it
has been an FCC requirement for years. Test sites (OATS of chambers) must
also meet CISPR 16 requirements for Site VSWR above 1GHz.

 Dear All,

I have learnt that the latest version requires to test the products upto 6
GHz from 1 GHz. When will it commence on which amendment? Have most of
public labs well equipped to conduct the test to the new requirements?

 Thanks and regards,

2011-11-21 Thread McInturff, Gary
In the US they are. Measurements above 1Ghz have been around for some time. The
upper level limit is established by the highest generated clock frequency, and
has been for many years - but more importantly I think that the EU and US have
different test setup requirements. Doesn't the EU version require a fully
anechoic chamber?

Yup, we up graded recently.  And for radios, it's 5x, so we just went with 26.5
GHz.
FCC is 10x for radios.  Immunity ia 2.7 vs 2.4 and setup to go to 6 GHz.
Going from memory, I'm home and on vacation!!
