[Emc-users] If I can use M5i20 for 3 axes milling CNC Machines with servo motors
I have a project using EMC2 as a controller for a 3 axes milling CNC Machine, that is a real tool machine using in mechanical industry. I have driver for the servo motors and now I have choose a motion card to control the servo motors. But when I see CNC machine that are controlled by EMC, these machines are almost small machine that use step motors to make motion. In my project, the Servo motor is obliged. Although there are some motion cards supporting for servo motors, for example m5i20 or servo-to-go, but I don't know what card is suitable for my project. so I need some one, who give me a advice about the good motion card for my project and please give me some practical machines using this card. I spent much time to find the way emc2 works. but I have just built the simple structure diagrams of EMC2 that includes files and some their tasks .But I don't understand clearly about the flow of EMC2. I want to know more about how EMC2 can control everything in CNC machine, for example, exchanging information between GUI and motion,io, task controller... Please tell me the different between rtapi and NML. As my opinion, rtapi make a realtime environment for EMC in linux system. But there is a urtapi in EMC2, I want to know where the urtapi applied and what it supports. if the way that rtapi operates is send and receive message from realtime componets. if that is right, please tell me how rtapi process these message. About NML, a good friend tell me that its task simply is copy and paste structured data from block of shared memory to communicate when using in distributed networked systems. [Emc-users] getting problem in control stepper
I have some trouble with the step motor The first, After reading Hal tutorial I saw a stepgen in Hal component. I wonder if I can using it to control 5 phase stepper without using step drivers. If can what I should do. Please give me gradually because I am beginner in controlling motors. The second, I found the 6 wire stepper, with some extra information are: miniangle stepper type 23Lm - k307 - P3, P/N AX050039A, 1.8, 3V/phase, 1.7A/phase. I do not know whether it is a 5 phase motor or it is not. could you help me find what type it is. I have some questions about integrating emc2 with a 3 axis milling machine. The first, I understand that emc2 implements algorithm control in the computer, such as imterpolation, trajectory..., then send controlling signal to hardware. If I have a motion card that responds motion control, how do I integrate it with emc2 interface. The second, I want using a recommended hardware in my CNC machine. My machine is a industrial machine, using servo motors for axes and DC motor for spindle. I am choosing a card integrating with EMC2 software to control my industrial milling machine. I am interested in 2 card 5i20 and 7i43 of Mesa. But I do not know what card is suitable for my machine. I plan to use motors for axes that have some specification such as: P = 1.4kW, Speed = 30,000r/m M = 5-6Nm, and a spindle that is P = 5.5 kW, Speed = 8000 r/m, M = 37Nm. I wil use the drive that have analog input to control velocity of motors. [Emc-users] how to install driver pci to lpt card in ubuntu 6.06
I have just bought a pci to lpt card. I intended to insert more I/O ports for emc2. But I could not install the card in Ubuntu 6.06. I did as the following instructions *(1)install <1>-copy install_p_80x86.o to /usr/sbin <2>-Add /usr/sbin/install_p_80x86 at the end of the /etc/rc.d/rc.local. <3>-reboot* but I could not find the path * /etc/rc.d/rc.local. *in Ubuntu 6.06, so I used path * /etc/rc.local. *Unfortunately, my computer did not recognize the hardware.
