Re: [Emc-users] CNC Fest classes
Someone *could* incorporate the slide material into a video, but we need someone to take on the job. I suspect it would be reasonable to: 1 -- Have a video camera pointed at the presenter and/or a marker board he might be using. 2 -- Produce DVDs/CDs containing the video and a separate file with any written material. 3 -- Ask the presenter to announce which slide he is discussing as he pages through them. That way, someone who wants to go through the presentation can print the prepared material and then watch the video. I would love to take part in the fest but its just out of the question - I've just had a week in NY with my brother and the domestic chancellor would never sanction another major dip into the budget. However, I would really value to chance to see some of the presentations and downloading iso files would seem to be the ideal. Hi Ray, I have lots of space available for hosting at DH. Last I checked around 400G or so ;) (should probably be enough). Too bad I can't make it to Fest.. but there's always next year.. Re: [Emc-users] CNC Fest classes
In previous years we have placed a web cam above the arch looking into the EMC2 area. Beyond this, we have not done a lot of topical presentation on the web. I won't presume to speak for other presenters. I move a around a lot for an old guy. Don't think that a web cam is going to do folk much good although I'm not at all opposed capturing my events. All of the intellectual property that I'm going to present has been stolen/borrowed from others anyway -- we call it open-source. I also freely admit that there are some questions and answers for which I lack the other half. (The answer is 42, 'scuse me, what was the question again? "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy") Another issue will be my use of the projector -- a lot. I presume that we could "hire" someone with a bit of video production experience to switch between the display and the lab and catch the essence of things. If we use a stand alone video camera we could probably get one of the developers to write us a capture and store program. Wireless mikes would be good also. I don't have a clue how Roland's link would stand up to streaming. We might have to upload after the fact. As for the size of the files, we had conversations between a couple of the developers on line for quite a while. Mega files they were. Ask about hosting. Rayh To snip is hip!
