[Emc-users] Synergy for hobbyists
Hi all, Ah, rumors, rumors ... well better than a rumor. Weber Systems has decided to offer a hobbyist price for the 2.5D version of their CAD/CAM package. Of course you have always been able to do the CAD for free but the CAM cost $250. Now they are offering the package for non-commercial use at $89.95. This of course comes with minimal support. They do have some pretty good tutorials for you to sit thru. Things like gears, cams, splines and nurbs now become easier. :-) Most of that is pretty exotic for the things I do but conics are pretty handy. Finally the disclaimer: Indeed I have no financial interest in this. Darned! Happy camming. Re: [Emc-users] Synergy for hobbyists
But think about how much your WV Caddy cost you. I drive less expensive cars (well used) and spend the extra on machining. ;-) On second thought I do need to pare down the stable. '86 Honda from DIL ( needs engine), '88 Honda (267 K mi ) but runs well, 1973 3/4 T chassis with useless (now) diesel, 10' x 8' trailer for hauling wood ... 11x22.5 tires with type 40 cans, M561 (gamma goat) and finally '98 Concorde which is my current transportation. Too much stuff. Dave On May 19, 2009, at 4:22 PM, Gene Heskett wrote: On Tuesday 19 May 2009, Dave Engvall wrote: Hi all, Ah, rumors, rumors ... well better than a rumor. Turn does appear to be before we get to 3D stuff.
