Re: [Emc-users] Heidenhain LS403 scale
Isn't the 403 a microAmp device? Or is it microVolt? Seems like most A/D would need an external preamp. However I can't see the sin-cos interpolator evaluation board on the list any more: https://www.ichaus.de/keyword/Encoder%20Evaluation%20Boards -- atp "A motorcycle is a bicycle with a pandemonium attachment and is designed for the especial use of mechanical geniuses, daredevils and lunatics." — George Fitch, Atlanta Constitution Newspaper, 1912 ___ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users

Looks like these guys make some chips - with datasheets in English! http://www.ichauschina.com/en/products/interpolator.htm Hmm, rather nice chip! but, you have to program a serial EPROM, and it looks like you have to do a calibration procedure on every chip and then program a value into the EPROM to get proper operation. That sounds like a but of complication for production. Maybe I misunderstood. Jon ___ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users

Look for a sin/cos to incremental converter or build one. They pop up from time to time on ebay for ~$100ea.
