Sorry, forgot to attach it. Now it is attached. :)

[E-devel] [support.osuosl.org #29680] enlightenment5.osuosl.oob fan failure

2018-10-19 Thread Travis Whitehead via RT
On a different note, it seems like we can't access OOB/IPMI for enlightenment5
because the credentials we have saved don't work anymore. Would you be
willing to reset the password to something that we both know? It would be
helpful to have access to info from IPMI when troubleshooting issues like
these.

If you're comfortable with PGP, would you mind updating the password for IPMI
and sending it to me encrypted with my GPG key? I've attached my public key
to this email. (We try to avoid sending passwords over email unprotected.)

Yeah, the temperature light is on and there is a persistent beeping, but
the fans are all spinning so I'm not sure there's much more to do in that
regard.

Have we informed you in the past that one of the machine's two redundant
power supply units are not working? I think that's probably the beep/alarm
that we're hearing.

Is that something you would like to have replaced?

yes. fan 4 was it... and you reported beeping noises/complaints. i was hunting
down the right fan when i noticed we had a spares box with it and it should be
there at OSUOSL.

I don't think there should be a need. I was under the impression a fan was
still broken and beeping and that this needed a fix to ensure cooling and less
annoyance for you guys... :)
