People interested in testing latest e17 could then just subscribe to

Vincent,

there are two mailing lists:

1) enlightenment-announce, where e-mails are *only* sent by pre-authorized
people in order to proclaim the presence or arrival of a new release;
2) enlightenment-release, where the people interested in helping with said
release (in a more organizational matter), package said release and/or help
with improving our testing support gather to discuss.

The enlightenment-devel and enlightenment-users have quite specific
use-cases IMHO, and we thought better to create a separate mailing list for
that. So far it seems that the creation was welcome by everyone except for
youserlf. Though I hate to see it cause such sort of troubles, unless more
people vote in favor of erasing it I'll vote to keep it and continue using
it.

Best regards,
Luis Felipe

This is great news, just one question:

Why do you create tarballs with version 1.7.2, when there have been no
changes, so with the same content as the 1.7.1 tarballs?

Because we're doing unified releases of all the EFL at the same version, in
order to avoid multiple versions. The unified tree will simplify this quite
a bit in the future.

This is great news, just one question:

Why do you create tarballs with version 1.7.2, when there have been no
changes, so with the same content as the 1.7.1 tarballs?

for a while we had a bunch of efl libs some at 1.4, some at 1.2 some at 1.0 -
it was messy. its simply version syncing to avoid the mess - they are all the
same version - changes or not.

Can we use this ML to advertise about new binary packages for
specific Linux/BSD distro? I never know exactly where it's better to do
so, e-dev, e-users, etc.

People interested in testing latest e17 could then just subscribe to
this ML to know about latest source code or binary packages.
