Re: [e-users] problem using both xmms and e17 (glibc 2.4)
it seems that there are a lot of problems with xmms, that some people are experiencing. Here, enlightenment just freezes when xmms is started. Re: [e-users] E laggy?
I can confirm that E has gotten a lot laggy lately. Besides the one-second redraw on the borders that I noticed some time ago, when the app is uniconified, now when I move windows around, I can see the exposure events more clearly than ever before. Using the ibar takes ~90% of the cpu, unlike the ~70% a week ago. Also, the monitor module (which doesn't seem to cause the slowdown, since I've unloaded it) is currently broken. The chart is drawn on top of everything else, like text and the top layer image, thus covering everything. I think it broke somewhere around the start of the week. .. end of my bug-report On Sat, 2005-10-29 at 23:14 -0700, Eric Sandall wrote: > -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- > Hash: SHA1 > > On Sun, 30 Oct 2005, Carsten Haitzler wrote: > > On Sat, 29 Oct 2005 17:38:13 -0500 "Paul S." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > babbled: > > > >> Found it. Re: [e-users] Weather module
\u00b0 is the unicode value of the degree sign (the last X is probably C). a quick hack of fixing this is by removing all the if(n)defs in e_mod_main and leaving ecore to deal with the unicode (actually, the code between #else and #endif should stay, as well as the char *utf8 on top). However, this is just a dirty hack, and edje really should be fixed (or maybe the escape sequence is wrong). Re: [e-users] Dual displays
however, it seems that with regular dualhead (no xinerama), things are very broken. for instance, no launcher will ever place a window on display :0.1 (even if you start a program from the ibar on :0.1, the window will appear in :0.0). The only way currently is to specifically start the program with DISPLAY=:0.1 totally offtopic: is it something in my config that makes the ibar messed up when gadget editing mode is enabled? unlike the rest of the modules, the ibar has no means of changing it's size, nor does it have the handle at the top for movement. and it seems that the light (on certain themes, like the default), tries to follow the mouse even then. and another thing, since the config file are now binary, is there a program that can edit them? [e-users] some questions about e17 project and translations
my first question is about the translation, as i am doing the bulgarian translastion of e17. since i'm not at all familiar with gettext (i mostly just copy a different language's po file and then proceed to translate it), how do i update the po file with the changes in enlightenment.pot. there is probably a way to do it automatically, i just don't know how to do it. my second question is, when i do an ./autogen, then do make dist to see if i didn't miss something with the po file (credits to kwo for telling me this), the Makefile in the po directory always seems to be wrong: Makefile:335: *** missing separator. Stop. where line 335 is this: es.mo \ why does this happen? i usually just delete the *.mo \ lines after this line and the problem stops, but it's probably wrong. my third question is directed towards raster. some time ago, you decided no to make the efl libraries support argb visual with composite, since the composite extension relied on render, which was slow. my question is: is render still a showstopper for integrating argb visuals? there has been, for a while now, a huge discussion about render improvements on the xorg list, with patches to both xorg and xserver trees, and people reporting a nice speedup with the composite extension. also, render acceleration for some drivers does appear to have been stabilized. i hope my questions were clear enough to understand :) --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games.
