RE: Odd Client Behavior

2003-02-11 Thread David Gibbons
To the group, (Server-W2K sp3 E5.5sp4 Workstations-W2K OK2000sp3)

I'm having this same issue with one of my client email accounts. It
doesn't matter what PC I create the profile on.

When trying to read a message there is about a 7 sec delay for the client
to mark the message as read. During this time Outlook in lock up with and
hour glass. This can be recreated by right clicking on the message and
changing the status of the message for read to unread. Messages will also
take about 7 sec to be sent. The message will sit in the outbox. This is
very odd. I have run clean sweep for views, forms and rule reply
templates. Still no joy.. Any other ideas?

BTW: New Mail Notification works, no error logs in exchange and this seems
to be the only mailbox in the company having an issue. My email response
time (from the same PC) is just fine. I've hunted the archives and
TechNet and can't seem to find this issue. All KB's point to UDP/New Mail
Notification but I can't find an issue with network connectivity.

Thanks
David Gibbons

 Hi Ed,
It's not workstation specific. I tried setting him up on another system
and it did the same thing. Even something as simple as selecting a read
email in his Inbox and marking it as unread lags a few seconds.

He did mention that it might have started happening at the same time I
reinstalled OWA and SP4 but I don't see why it would effect only his
 mailbox.

 Hi all,
I have one client that is lagging big time when he tries to open or
close any emails. Just moving the highlight bar lags...Other systems can
open/close emails with no lag. I've noticed that when I send the user an
email it sits in my Outbox for about five seconds instead of just going
immediately like when I send to anyone else. I've tried sending when his
Outlook client is closed and it doesn't make a difference.

This is a pretty vanilla client except I have two shared resources
added. DHCP is running fine. All updates are in.

Anyone have any ideas why the mailbox would lag like this? It doesn't
seem to be the workstation that is the problem. He has 85MB out of 450MB
