Hi All, Does anyone know how Exchange 5.5 determines whether or not it has already sent an automated response to a user?? We want to add automated response on an address but want the automated response to be sent back every time not just once. Is there a list we can clear down manually or does Exchange determine if it has already responded by checking the transaction log files? Any help appreciated. RE: What tools are good to measure bandwidth across a internet ro uter
Hi Ellery, I have just implemented MRTG in conjunction with active perl. I am not convinced that the stats are 100% accurate but they are pretty damn close and give you a good idea of what is going on for both inbound and outbound traffic. Take a look at the following link - http://mrtg.hdl.com/nt-guide.html It uses SNMP to connect out to your routers and I believe that there are some addons that will allow you to graph protocol usage as well such as SMTP, HTTP, I will be looking at this later today myself, I'll mail you offline if I come accross anything interesting. Thanks for all of your input to the list, nice to be able to offer something back ;-) Duncan -Original Message- From: Ellery July [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 28 November 2001 21:53 To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: OT: What tools are good to measure bandwidth across a internet ro uter What are some good tools or software to measure the amount of bandwidth used over time across. ellery List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
RE: Reclaiming Disk Space
The IS is 6.2Gb. Exchange services are stopped every night and a full offline backup is taken with Arcserve. Circular logging is on. Exchange is installed to the first partition and the mailboxes reside on the second partition. Ok, the server is continually running out of disk space, so everything shuts down, if I look at the mailbox resources in the Admin tool it reports that the internet mail service mailbox is just short of 1Gb, how do you view, clear this down? Also I believe that the whitespace can be cleared down from the database but requires 110% of the database size, can I install Exchange to another server with bags of disk space, recover whitespace and move databases back to the original server? (and no I can't move Exchange to the other server permanently!!) RE: Reclaiming Disk Space
I cwould buy more disksif this was an option,we like several other companies are on a total spend freeze. The mail server was going to be replaced this financial year but again the spend freeze has put a stop to it. I need to buy us 6 months or so until hopefully we can either throw some disks at it or replace it completely. Does anyone know how to get at the IMS mailbox? Its nearly 1gb, that would probably see us through the next 6 months or so.
