|
|I am running through DR scenarios on the test network.
|
|I rebuilt the exchange cluster after an interupted DR test. However the
|old server name was still in the AD. So I named the new server something
|else and finished the install.
|
|I can now mail enable users in the AD, which goes through the mail setup
|and appears to finish with no error, but mailboxes do not appear in the
|store also you cannot (as expected open the mailbox) I don't believe
|there is an issue with the store.
|
|When you try to open the mailbox it states that it cannot find the name
|the global address list I have replaced this and can confirm that the name
|does exist in here.
|
|The easy solution would be to start from scratch and rebuild the AD but I
|am trying to understand what has happened here. The term fubar while
|probably very close is not really constructive though.
|
|Many thanks in advance.

Your RUS is probably configured to use your first server which doesn't exists so it
doesn't run. Make sure it's pointing to your new server.

RE: DR testing of e2k cluster

2002-07-29 Thread William Lefkovics

Well, just thoughts...

Did the users have mailboxes on the previous server name?

There are specific steps involving removing the first server from the
network and AD, which sounds like you did not do.

Can I assume that proper time has been allotted for AD replication and
RUS updates for these new mailenabled users?

Are there lots of events in the application event log of this server and
the GC server(s)?

(It might be more hassle than it is worth to try to troubleshoot
resulting issues with the actions you've taken. I'd be inclined to
flatten the test network and start over really.)

RE: DR testing of e2k cluster

2002-07-29 Thread Rob Wilcox

Do those new mailboxes when you mail enable them get stamped by RUS with the
correct email address?

Can you seem them in the global address list?

Can you send a mail to them? After doing this do they appear on the
store. [Are you checking this through ESM under the Mailbox store?]

Are there any warnings or errors in your application event logs ?

Thanks
Rob
