You need to recreate the replicas of the PF's on the server.

Hello guys,

We have just restored our exchange server but unfortunately our public
folders didn't go online. The public folders are visible but cannot be
accessed. We already did DS/IS inconsistency check but we still cannot
access the folders. The whole database was restored.

If the public folders cannot be recovered how can I possibly delete it as
well, I cannot even access the properties of the public folders.

Thanks.

The mailbox of the public folders are visible but cannot be accessed. What

only version 5.5.

RE: Exchange issue

Hi Missy,

Here's the message that I got when accessing the folder on the client side.

"Unable to display the folder. The contents of this public folder are
currently unavailable. Either the Microsoft Exchange Server computer
servicing this public folder is down or the public folder has not been
replicated to this date. See your administrator. will the isinteg command
resolve the problem by fixing the -pub.

on the other hand, how could i possibly delete the folders on the admin
console since i can't possibly access the properties of the said folder. I
was able to delete other folders before but i forgot the procedure already.
Thanks.

New development: I can now view the properties and can access the public

RE: Exchange issue

2001-09-13 Thread Ambrose, Joseph

I've recentlyl restore PF's on my recovery server, to make them available I
had to go to Public information store folder and display the
properties page.

Go to the Instances tab, and add the PF's to that server's information
store

Hope this helps...

Hi folks.

Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction with this:

Last weekend I migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. There are no
issues concerning mail flow or access. My Outlook 200/2003 client needed to
be manually reconfigured. My Outlook 2007 client found the new server and
automatically reconfigured themselves.

The server has a SSL certificate from VeriSign for active sync and OWA. The
certificate is for the .com name of the Exchange 2007 server.
We are having an issue with the Outlook 2007 clients only.

I removed the self signed cert that was setup with exchange 2007.

Every time outlook 2007 is open my users on the LAN are getting a
certificate error if they click yes, it pops twice. If they hit yes both
time outlook functions normally.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Actually, following up on Rob's suggestion, you could also create a new

Subject: Exchange Issue

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Dave

RE: Exchange Issue

2010-01-21 Thread Michael B. Smith
Cool! I never even thought of that.

Note carefully: These steps assume that a host record exists in the DNS to map
the FQDN that you specify to the IP address of the CAS server

What it doesn't say (and should, I'm going to file an update request), is that
the IP address must be an INTERNAL/LOCAL (on the LAN) IP address.

BTW, if you are able to create a cname for the old server to point to the new
server's IP in DNS your 2003 and earlier clients may reconfigure themselves as
well.

Newer versions of outlook are better at this than older versions of outlook.

Autodiscover is better than any manual configuration.

Cached mode is better than online mode.

I probably should have pointed out the

  Get-ExchangeServer -status | fl

As not everyone does as much PS as I do. Part of the output should be something
like this:

StaticDomainControllers   : {}
StaticGlobalCatalogs  : {}
StaticConfigDomainController :
StaticExcludedDomainControllers   : {}
CurrentDomainControllers  : {server1.easyemail.local}
CurrentGlobalCatalogs : {server1.easyemail.local}
CurrentConfigDomainController : server1.easyemail.local

But you want the list of Current* items to contain more than one server.

And the Static* to be empty.

RE: Exchange Issue w/ DC failure

2011-02-07 Thread Wayne Dueck
We have this issue also. We have Exchange 2007 SP2 with Outlook 2007 SP2 in one
AD site. The get-exchangeserver commmand shows that there are no static DC's or
GC's configured and also shows 4 Current DC's and GC's. I'm disappointed to
hear that 2010 does this also. Is it possible that there is something
misconfigured or is this operating as designed?

Just ran that command on my 2010 box...doesn't mention that it is connected to
any GCs or DCs. Where is it supposed to list that?

Well, the one further question - are you sure that Exchange is configured to
use multiple GCs/DCs?

(Get-ExchangeServer -status).

we're on exchange 2010 and our outlook clients are 2007 or later. it affected a
lot of people. luckily it happened after normal hours. is there any setting on
clients where we can force it to change DC or something? we have autodiscover
working. just seemed strange.

Newer versions of outlook are better at this than older versions of outlook.

Autodiscover is better than any manual configuration.

Cached mode is better than online mode.

Outlook 2003 sux.

had a weird issue the other day where I had a DC fail and outlook started
prompting for credentials. is there a reason why outlook wouldnt just look to
the next DC in line?
