RE: Exchange store dismounts unexpectedly
I was having a similar issue last weekend which turned out to be a User who subscribed to a Macromedia application Development l-serv. Another person subscribed to that same list had a Korean Signature File and was pretty active on that list. Every time he posted to l-appDev, the Exchange IS would crash after GroupShield choked on the sig file. The logs showed: Event ID: 1048 McAfee GroupShield failed to send message Event ID: 257 An internal error occurred in GroupShield These Events would show up 1 minute prior to the IS crashing. McAfee has not responded to my request for a resolution to this problem yet. I have just blocked Macromedia's IP and asked the User to subscribe using a Hotmail account until the issue is resolved. RE: Exchange store dismounts unexpectedly
I have seen this too, though not as frequently. Event messages seem to be non existent as to when or why, although I haven't had it happen recently, and it did definitely happen more prior to ESP1. Currently running W2K+SP2+E2K+ESP1. Right now, more often then the exchange store dismounting unexpectedly, we are instead seeing the groupshield stops running for no reason. The only thing I did notice when either happens, is that although restarting the store (or GS) will work, it would fail again in a couple of days or less. Rebooting the entire server it will run for many weeks without incident... Lately there has been enough critical updates from Microsoft's update site that the exchange servers haven't been up more then a month at a time anyways after we put ESP1 on several months ago... Windows does make our Novell and Unix servers look good with very few required updates requiring a reboot... -Original Message- From: Sonny Meza [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 11, 2002 5:55 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Cc: Michael Hoelscher; Dan Reed; John Moreland; Bill Brown Subject: Exchange store dismounts unexpectedly We've had problems with our Exchange store dismounting unexpectedly.
