Re: Anybody heard of these guys?

2010-03-26 Thread Steven Peck
The 3cx system has a link to voip to phone line products on their web
pages. THey will even let you on their forums for tfree community
support in getting it running.

It was recommended to me as a nice way to test PBX/OCS2007 integration
testing in my home lab as well and it was nice for that. It's a
pretty nice looking little product in that it also runs on Windows and
I don't need to go pay attention to a linux box. Just normal Windows
stuff. I seriously considered getting one of those hardware boxes and
just running it as my main home setup for fun. :)

Been a while since I fired up my test environment though.

OT: RE: Anybody heard of these guys?

2010-03-25 Thread Joe Pochedley
I put a Switchvox (Digium branded Asterisk solution with a good http interface)
system in one of our small offices (7 person) this past July. Had a few issues
with it at first where the FXS/FXO ports were acting funny, but Digium got
everything smoothed out. Been working great since. We’re running VOIP
trunking to the box for most of the calls and VOIP faxing, and have a couple
POTS lines on it for backup.

If anyone wants to talk specifics, feel free to email me off-list.

RE: [MARKETING] RE: Anybody heard of these guys?

2010-03-25 Thread Jason Gurtz
We are currently PBX shopping... The ShoreTel story looks pretty great
(lots of features for a great price), unless you need a complex
IVR/CallCenter functionality. Unfortunately, we have a call center and
complex IVR requirements so will spend a bit more.

Asterisk can do "anything" and like most Linuxy things, is limited in
practice by the skill of the admin and the labor budget.

How are you going to connect the physical cards you need for PSTN, etc

Not the phones but the software. It appears they connect to a fairly
wide variety of SIP devices. I'm not up to speed on VOIP but this looks
like an interesting entry level setup not to mention you can run it in a
VM so there's really no cost on the server side (of course they have a
more feature filled Version for sale!) John W. Cook Systems
