Wouldn't FMA override any settings the user can set themselves?

Wonder if it might be worth writing an EWS script, and setting up an account
for impersonation.

They should be, unless the user has messed with their delegate permissions.
Which is very likely in this scenario.

Ok, thanks.

Second question on this. Are Contacts not included with Full Access? The
previously mentioned admin is now able to open the user's mailbox, but when she
goes down to the Contacts tab, she is not able to see the user's contacts.
This is actually the reason for accessing the user's mailbox in the first place.

Thanks again :)

If this is on Exchange 2007, then your admin will need to log off, reboot the
workstation and then sign back in, as long as he is using the same domain
controller as the Exchange server. If not, you will have to wait for AD
permissions to replicate.

I've added Full Access rights for one of my Exchange admins to a user's
mailbox. How can I speed up the process, so that they can quickly open that
mailbox themselves? Is it just restarting the Information Store service? Or
is there a shell command I need to run, like for the MFA?

Thanks,

Joe

For all I know your network could be a short mini-rack sharing closet space

Re: Speeding up process

2012-11-01 Thread Steve Kradel
Mailbox security changes do not replicate urgently; the mailbox
security descriptor is just an ordinary attribute as far as AD is
concerned.

The default intersite replication interval is still a comical 180
minutes, although most orgs reduce it to the 15-minute minimum that
the GUI will allow. However, this still can be improved upon
significantly. And it can also be worsened significantly with wonky
AD designs that require many hops to get a change fully propagated.

I've no idea how long Exchange might cache mailbox security settings.

 Hi Michael:

You’re making the assumption that nothing has been changed from
the default replication schedule (AFAIK, security changes replicate
immediately), that both parties are using the same domain controller, that
the DC is functioning normally and there are no issues processing
 replication updates.

Since Mr. Heaton is sending from CA.GOV, I’m not sure if any of
 these conditions are true.
