backscatter.org pay them or f'em
Ok looking for some thoughts on this. Looks like we got flagged by backscatter.org for misdirected ndrs. We moved our exch 03 to new hardware a couple of months ago and must have missed this. i have fixed the issues. Backscatter wants over 100 bucks to get us off immediately. They show us expiring June 16th. Its not the money just the fact their trying to extort money from us. Anyone else got caught up on this and paid them? I don't have any pressing email issues from anyone so I am thinking they aren't really an rbl lookup being used. Thoughts? Thanks everyone and have a safe holiday in the US. RE: backscatter.org pay them or f'em
We have been caught twice by them for minor stuff that should never have been flagged. We did not pay them anything and in fact had our hosting provider threaten them with legal action for one offense. Sometimes it helps if you sign up for an account on their site and then you can request to get off the listing. We have found that this affects our European offices more than North American as many businesses over there subscribe to Backscatter.org for RBL access/protection. Yea like I said I'm not aware of any issues. I also read something from mxtoolbox that no one should be using bs as an rbl lookup. I'm leaning towards f'em. Yes. You can use them for spam weighting, but you should not use a service like that for triggered blocking. -- ME2 On Fri, May 27, 2011 at 12:13 PM, Eldridge, Dave d...@parkviewmc.com wrote: Yea like I said I’m not aware of any issues.
